13 Chapter 13

Despite being completely aware that winning against the iron skin armadillo is almost impossible without using his [Blessed Mode], Rezen still don't plan on backing out

He greatly wants to receive the reward that Mia would give to him if he were to succeed

His first reward was a magic skill that is of a higher quality than the [Waterball]. If he succeeded, wouldn't his rewards be even better than that?

"Hmph, fighting against an iron-skinned armadillo with this brat's skills alone is suicide!" Chester snorted. He doesn't like the fact that the group was being delayed just because of Rezen

Chester's eyes have a hidden glint in them as he stared at Mia that didn't give him much attention

"I will do my best!" Rezen said firmly, displaying his fighting intent

The group went to an open space with sparse trees around to watch Rezen fight the armadillo

"Go kid! You can do it!" Danny cheered in the side and Rezen nodded his head at him while raising his thumb

"Be aware that whether you die or not in the hands of this armadillo, we wouldn't help you" Mia warned with a serious voice

At normal times, Rezen would be afraid of this battle as he might lose his life. However, he still has his trump cards, and even just using his [Blessed Mode] would already ensure his victory if he was really pushed too far

If Rezen's base power were to be multiplied by two, he could definitely overpower this armadillo

"I understand, sister!" Rezen replied and Mia nodded her head before letting go of the armadillo and retreating

Only Rezen was left to deal with the armadillo that bared its mouth and sharp claws at him

Rezen immediately took out some shurikens from his pouch and he threw it

The metallic sound of the shurikens rang in the air as they collided with the armadillo's body

However, true to its name, the iron-skinned armadillo wasn't the least bit affected by the shuriken. It only made a 'clanging' sound before they were deflected by its heavy defense

Rezen narrowed his eyes, this result was not out of his expectation and this time, he took out some daggers and hold them tightly as the armadillo is already planning on attacking him

The armadillo retracted its feet and arms while rolling its armored body. It turned into a rolling cannonball that was charging in Rezen's direction

Rezen's eyes flashed and he tried to dodge that 'cannonball' but he wasn't 100% successful

The armadillo still hits him although he deflected some of the force by blocking with his dangers

But even then, because of the difference in base power, Rezen was flung away. His arms hurt as the force that he received was not a weak one

Without stopping, the armadillo chased Rezen that jumped into the air while controlling his mana

"[Water Style: Waterball!]" Rezen spat out a single ball of water from his mouth and it heavily collided on the armadillo that also jumps into the air

The impact from the waterball knocked back the armadillo but it almost wasn't hurt

Using [Fireball] would be more effective but Rezen don't want to be found out that he lied

As such, he could only grit his teeth and as soon as his feet landed on the ground, he dashed at his foe

Sparks flew around as Rezen landed a solid hit to his enemy using his daggers. Unfortunately, because of the thick defense of the armadillo, he only managed to create some shallow scratches though that seems to have angered it

The armadillo stops spinning its body as it opened its mouth to spit out a sharp shard of metal

Rezen's eyes constricted as he moved his head to the side to dodge but it still wounded him a bit

A line of red appeared in Rezen's cheeks as the metal shard cuts his skin

Seeing that his opponent could use attacks like this, Rezen jumped away and landed on a nearby tree

Seems like the armadillo not only has its body as a means of attack. It could also use similar skills that Mana Warriors uses

The armadillo made an animalistic sound before its body shakes a bit. Soon, large metal spikes appeared all over its body before it started spinning once more

"It's already a headache in its base form but now!" Rezen clicked his tongue at this development

He jumped out from the tree and the armadillo smashed the tree branch he was standing on earlier

Rezen runs around while the armadillo chases him. He does this until he thinks that the armadillo thinks that running is the only thing he could do and lower its guard

When Rezen thought that it was enough, he turned his head back with his hand forming an 'O' shape in front of his mouth

"[Water Style: Water Spray!]"

Rezen sprayed a torrent of water into the charging armadillo. The armadillo was still several meters away from him but with how fast it was charging straight at him, that wasn't a problem

The monster entered the range of Rezen's magic skill and he landed a solid hit

The [Water Spray] skill definitely has stronger firepower compared to the [Waterball] as the armadillo screeched loudly

The monster's body was thrown away from the impact and parts of its armor shattered causing blood to flow out from it

This was the first time that Rezen landed a critical hit and despite his internal energy still being in disarray from using a powerful skill, he still dashes forward the armadillo

His hand holds his dagger again as he stabs it in the area where the wound he created can be seen

The armadillo screeched wildly and because of the pain, its movements turned more aggressive

Rezen's strength wasn't enough to hold the armadillo down and it angrily slammed its body at him

Puwah!

Rezen coughed out some fresh blood. He feels as if his bones cracked from that impact. It shook his internal organs and made his mind become disoriented

Sure enough, this armadillo is not an easy monster to kill for the current Rezen without his [Blessed Mode]
