10 Chapter 10
"Where did that kid come from?" The man that was the poison style mana warrior muttered before tapping his scouter
Seeing the result, the man sneered. Turns out that kid was this weak. He would definitely not be a threat to them
As such, he just ignored the kid to continue attacking the dire wolf. The shield user also did the same thing and he focuses on defending
A single moment of distraction could make them lose their life and he couldn't afford that
"[Earth Style: Great Wall!]" the shield user muttered as he slammed his shield into the ground while pouring his mana into it
Soon, the ground moved and they covered the entire shield, reinforcing its power. Helping the man to block the black dire wolf's attack
Out of the three, only the silver-haired woman paid a bit more attention to Rezen
Not only were their hair color almost the same, but even their eyes are also identical in color
The silver-haired woman glance at Rezen for a few more seconds before turning her focus back at the dire wolf
She seems to have decided to end the battle faster than before as she uses the water whip to restrict the wolf's movement
"Danny, smash its head with your shield!" The woman ordered and the man named Danny nodded his head
"Understood!" Danny answered and his feet sped up. He poured force into his arms and banged it into the wolf's head
Since the dire wolf was being held by the water whips, Danny managed to land a solid hit that made it dizzy
"Chester, attack its eyes. I wouldn't be able to hold it after a few more seconds!" The silver-haired woman gave another order and the man named Chester immediately moves
He took out two daggers, one in each hand as he channeled his mana into it
"[Poison Style: Acid!]"
Chester activated his magic skill as a faint layer of purple coated his daggers. Before the daggers could even melt, he already plunged them into the dire wolf's eyes
The combination of the acid and stabbing it straight to the wolf's eyes causes its demise and its body soon landed on the ground, devoid of any hint of life
"Wooahhh! Brothers, sister, all of you are great! You defeated that strong monster!" Rezen exclaimed excitedly
If anyone from the slave facility that knows him were to see how he is acting currently, no doubt that their jaws would fall into the ground
"Hahahaha, that's nothing, kid!" Danny answered with a laugh. He was on the friendly side but the man Chester was completely different
"Brat, go away, don't disturb us!" Chester said with a frown, completely showing his dislike for Rezen's presence
"Brothers, sister, can I not come with you? I'm alone and I'm afraid a monster would eat me!"
Rezen showed a pleading expression that would melt the heart of everyone, except for the black-hearted ones
"No! We don't have time to babysi—" Chester was already refusing when the silver-haired woman steps out and stood in front of Rezen
"What's your name?" She asks and Rezen look at her with eyes filled with hope
"Big sister, my name is Rezen!"
"Rezen what? Where is your family?"
Family... Rezen doesn't even know if he has a family and his acting faltered for a bit before he regained his calm
"I-I don't know. I lost memories from my childhood"
The woman stared at Rezen with a glint in her eyes and the man could only do his best to continue acting
"Big sister, c-can I please come with you? I promise to help in any way I can! I definitely wouldn't hold you back!" He continues to plead
After seeing the black dire wolf with over 10,000 battle points, Rezen realizes how lucky he was these past few days
He did not encounter a monster that strong but if he did... his death is almost guaranteed
"Mia, we don't have time to babysit that kid. We have our mission!" Chester interjected after seeing that Mia was giving Rezen attention. He tried to persuade her but it didn't work
"Just let him tag along. If he can't keep up with us, that's his fault" Mia replied nonchalantly and after giving Rezen one last glance, she went towards the dire wolf's corpse
The man Chester glared at Rezen before letting out an annoyed sound
"Hahaha, kid, don't mind that jerk. He's always like that!" Danny said to comfort Rezen and the latter smiled at him while nodding his head
Mia swipes her hand on the dire wolf's body before it instantly disappeared
"A spatial ring? Isn't that a crazy expensive item?" Rezen thought and he was even more sure that that woman is not simple
Fortunately, he can instinctively feel that she won't harm him as long as he doesn't harm her first
Mia is more on the neutral side but that Chester... Rezen is sure that he is not a good guy
After taking the corpse, Mia turned to look at Rezen again and she ask a question
"Do you know any magic skill?"
At that, Rezen shook his head, lying effortlessly. With how strong these people are, Rezen naturally should hide his cards
Even a weaker party could win against a stronger party if they have a trump card unknown to the enemy
"I'll demonstrate and explain a basic magic skill once. Whether you could understand and use it to keep your life intact is up to you!" She said and went ahead to explain the fundamental points of a magic skill that is also one of the most basic of the basics
Her words were meticulous and easy to understand even to people that don't have much experience and Rezen benefitted a lot
"The [Waterball] skill for me is much better than other basic elemental skills. The others have stronger destructive power but the waterball is more useful. If you are thirsty and don't have any source of water, you can create your own"
"I don't know if you have the affinity for water style magic skills but..." Mia trailed and Rezen can feel that she was not teaching him this magic skill just for the sake of being kind and helping him
Rezen can feel that Mia has an ulterior motive though he doesn't know what that is. But anyway, even though he already has the basic fire elemental skill, it wouldn't hurt to learn the waterball
"If you could learn this magic skill easily, depending on your progress, I would reward you"
Reward? Rezen's ears perked up at that. With how powerful and mysterious this woman is, her rewards should be pretty handsome, right?
Rezen originally planned on not showing too much talent since his [Blessed Body] has an affinity for all elements. However, he changed his mind after hearing about the reward
Anyway, if these people want him dead, they wouldn't resort to tricking him since they have more than enough power to do that
Even if he shows his talent, they would at least not kill him or bring harm to him
Rezen doesn't know why but although he was always cautious, he finds it easy to trust that woman and he can only hope that he would not regret it
"Alright, I'll do my best big sister!" Rezen replied excitedly
"Hmph, why do you even waste your time on a random brat? He's not worth it!"
Rezen just ignored that Chester just like what the others do and Mia demonstrated the [Waterball] skill in a slow manner. It was to help Rezen analyze all the processes included in using it
Fortunately, when it comes to talent, Rezen is confident thanks to his constitution. He can instinctively feel that he could always easily learn any elemental magic skills out there
After just witnessing and hearing the explanation on how to use the [Waterball] skill, Rezen is already confident enough
As such, Rezen closes his eyes as he controlled the movement of mana inside him in a specific way
When he opened his eyes, they were already filled with determination
"[Water Style: Waterball!]"
Rezen's lips parted and he spat out a singular ball of water that collided on a nearby tree and causing it to collapse
Danny's jaws drop to the ground and Chester's eyes constricted. Only Mia has an expression that no one could decipher
"Holy Shit! Is this actually your first time using it? Are you sure that you haven't learned it before? This talent is something that only geniuses from big cities have!" Danny exclaimed in surprise while Chester look at Rezen with jealousy and hostility
"T-this is my first time, big brother" Rezen answered while scratching the back of his head
He was technically not lying. This is indeed his first time hearing the process and also trying it though this is not the first time that he saw someone use it
After all, Gary also uses that skill when they fought together
"Big sister, what is my reward?" Rezen ask excitedly
