25 Chapter 25 Breakup

Jack turned around swiftly stifling his tears as he looked at Ryan who just punched Xiao.

"WHY!?" Ryan shouted angry for this betrayal. Ryan realized that his friend or who he thought was his friend just used his divine ability to harm his other friend and future teammate. His mind was breaking apart trying to figure out why this happened.

Xiao while still on the ground from being punched stared at Ryan waiting for him to calm down though with each second passing Ryan's anger only grew.

"Let me say it again. WHY did you do it?" Ryan slowly and clearly pronounced every word putting extra emphasis on the word why.

"It was a mistake." Xiao answered realizing that what he thought was a good idea only made things worse.

Jack tried talking but couldn't from all the crying. His voice was hoarse and quiet. As the confrontation continued they didn't realize the surrounding kobolds gathered to watch this display. Recognizing their god crying over the deaths of their brethren.

They saw another god who they didn't recognize yell at another who they assumed was the one who caused the tidal wave due to the water molecules floating around his being.

"It was a mistake. Is that all you have to say?" Ryan mocked Xiao as apologizing so vaguely wasn't good enough for him. Ryan didn't notice Jack behind them trying to talk but couldn't. Jack was slowly regaining his ability to talk but it would be a few minutes.

" I know what I did was wrong but I wasn't in control of it." Xiao tried to explain though Ryan clearly wasn't satisfied as his face didn't change.

"So what you are saying is that what happened is not your responsibility." Ryan asked rhetorically clearly making his own guesses from the previous answers.

Ryan reached down to pick Xiao up who didn't move as he knew everything was his fault. Jack seeing this rushed up to Ryan holding him back.

Ryan looked behind him clearly annoyed someone interrupted him but stopped once he saw Jack.

"How you doing?" Ryan asked clearly concerned for his friend's wellbeing as he continued to hold Xiao in the air. Jack pointed at his throat while trying to talk clearly conveying the point of his inability to speak.

The kobolds and dragonoids watched from the sidelines clearly in awe of everything and took notice of Jack's inability to speak.

Ryan took a few seconds to think since they couldn't communicate easily as he was pondering he noticed the gathering. Realizing that he wasn't invisible quickly activated his divine power and disappeared from mortal view.

Both Xiao and Jack noticed Ryan using his divine power quickly figured out why and also followed by activating their divine powers. Before Jack disappeared he looked at his followers and nodded.

Seeing the disappearance of the gods the believers thought for a moment before they began discussing their gods.

Portraying Xiao as an evil river demon and Ryan as a fellow god. While also calling Jack the silent one collectively deciding on his second title besides bloodied grass. With this new title the female dragonoid started a ceremony where they would bury their brethren and also officially announce their god's new title.

Now invisible and calmed down Ryan put Xiao down though his glare was still locked on him.

"I accidently fused with the river losing my consciousness and facing the rejection of the divine realm retaliated unconsciously. I didn't mean to hurt his believers and once I woke up I immediately stopped my ability. Though I do take full responsibility for this catastrophe." Xiao explained to Ryan who was now willing to listen. Jack nodded further proving Xiao's words.

"Okay but it better not happen again." Ryan stated clearly not happy with his response.

The three stood in silence before Xiao left feeling that his presence was no longer welcome. Jack tried to stop him but couldn't since he couldn't talk and Xiao teleporting back to his own divine realm.

Ryan watched Xiao leave before saying a few words and leaving as well. Jack instantly threw the words Ryan said of if he needed help just ask since he didn't need help. The only help would be reviving his believers though Ryan is incapable of that.

Jack watched his two friends leave and wanted to call it a night and log out but waited with the evolving kobolds to ensure success.

In the following days the tournament progressed with a few more evolutions and level ups. Now totaling a population of 13 dragonoids including the older ones. Though no dragonoid warlocks he was still excited that his dragonoid population grew.

But with everything that just happened Jack logged off and went to bed. Feeling weird before sleeping though he attributed it to nervousness and anxiety.

Waking up the next day Jack checked his status page like usual when he noticed a massive difference.

Standing their in shock over the new ability he just gained Jack immediately went online to search up information about it. Knowing getting ability was possible though rare he was more confused about what the ability actually did since it was very vague.

[Silent One(Lv1)-Ability related to the domain of Silence. Every time you communicate will contain divine power. Speaking will require worship value and if you don't then you risk either losing the ability or demoting the strength.]

Finding more information on this ability he found out a few things. This ability was rare but not impossible to get. Since it was an ability you could start with it was much easier to find information on it.

Though the information was basic it was still helpful. Jack thought over it and decided to try to keep it still it seemed very versatile in use and could be helpful. Though whether he could keep it when becoming a demigod is unknown.

Jack went to Xiao's room before realizing his new divine ability and walked back to his own room and texted Xiao to not blame himself and that it wasn't his fault. Checking his status he noticed the drop in worship value and would have to do some tests.
