Chapter 8 - Exam 2

Quirks. Many would think having quirk would make people better compared to Quirkless. Though, it is true for Most people with incredible powers, they are people who discriminate against others for their quirks, mostly people who have mutant quirks that make their appearance unusual. They are also quirk that backfires on individuals such as Toru Hagakure. 

At a young age, she wishes to be a hero like any other people seeing their smile and helping them. Unfortunately, Toru would never expect that her quirk would be a curse as well having turned invisible with no way of stopping it and in the end she couldn't even enjoy being a young girl as she was unable to put on makeup due to the fact she was unable to see herself.

She felt alone and sadness overwhelmed her heart but Toru had a dream and couldn't let go of it. In the end, she acted upbeat and happy to hide the pain, having learned how to fight by watching video tape and even learning under a martial art master. 

They certainly ways to dampen her quirk but they are expensive and would take time to find a solution to her problem which is why she couldn't turn off her quirk. The doctor believed it was a mutant type quirk but that they told them. It was a depressing and tragic thing where her parents wouldn't be able to see how their child would grow and how she would like.

And yet, Toru worked hard to adapt to her new life even though she was sad and feared that no boy would like her since her face is invisible. She wanted to have a boyfriend but it was impossible since how will she find a boy that finds her attractive without seeing her face. 

But even with all the setbacks, she never loses hope and would find a way to have someone who loves her because of her personality not her looks. She accepted herself even if they are still lingering sadness and envy.

'Toru, you can do this! Like the master told you, there are other ways of defeating an opponent and I just need to find it!'

With her quirk, she can easily slip through the robot but she had to be naked or rather wear less. Toru had spent her entire life preparing for this moment and today is the day. She was extremely nervous and felt intimidated with the people that have better quirks than hers but it doesn't discourage her from trying. 

"Excuse me but are you alright?"

She was perplexed when someone called out to her turning around only to be taken aback by what she saw. The person before her displayed a calm and serene demeanor under a sharp and stoic gaze with reddish orange underline below his eye.

'He' looked more fair than any girl that she met before, even her friends didn't have the same complexion as he does and the shade doesn't look unhealthy and the perfect amount of pale skin tone. Toru unsure if he was a boy as his features were more feminine and had long white hair that only emphasized his femininity yet her heart was pounding being stared at by him. 

Though, there is no mistake that he was a man as his outfit consisted of a black bomber jacket and cyber cargo pants with sleeveless turtleneck that tightly hugged into his body showing his well toned and lean body. Toru in daze looking at him while the Young man, Ren smiled, that got her out of her daze and said.

"A-Ah yes, w-what were you asking again?"

"I was wondering if you're alright? Though I can't see you, my intuition tells me that you're anxious. Is there anything in your mind? Oh right, where's my manners? I'm Ren, Ren Kazuno, feel free to call me Ren."

Toru unsure if she was dreaming that someone like him was talking to her but she tried her best to compose herself by hiding in her facade and said.

"I'm Toru Hagakure and as for your question, well, if I'm being honest it's nerve wrecking since as you can see my quirk isn't suited to fighting and I'm unsure I'll pass but I can't stop now without trying." 

She raised her fist before blushing after realizing what she did but Toru saw only smiling and said.

"If that is the case then I believe that you'll pass. Many with better quirks would quit without trying but it's admirable that you're still here."

Ren gave her a little encouragement while Toru was blushing and had inner turmoil with herself.

"T-Thank you. I appreciate your encouragement, Ka-I mean Ren-san." 

"You're welcome, Hagakure-san. Anyway, hope you good luck and….for the record I believe there's a button that you press to disable the machine but tell anyone."

Ren leaned closer into her ear, surprising Toru and was surprised at what he said before he stepped back and walk away while Toru stared at his back in daze.

'...Wait, how did he know where my ears are? D-Dont tell me….no, I doubt that even infrared  and other vision still makes me invisible but how….Ren…'

While she left pondering, Ren stretched and ready himself where he didn't use his [ Paragon Shadow ] and only its speed step. The people were also preparing and chatting as he heard the Present mic shouted.

"Start!"

Without a moment's notice, He created strings into the clouds before pulling himself and jumping over the gate where rush towards the place where the robots were. The student was surprised by his sudden action and even tried to ridicule him but present mic scream. 

 "What?! You think there's ever a timer for heroes!? At least one of you had the right idea!" 

In that moment they rush inside while Ren was running around meeting over a dozen of robots that seem to focus more into him where they seem to point their arms that had pellet bullets that were enough to hurt but not kill or heavily injure someone beside their eyes. This made Ren smirk and gaze turn sharp as a blade and eyes shimmer in excitement and say.

"Let's dance!" 

They blast their guns and rain down pellet bullets as Ren easily dodge them and precisely slice the pellet before the string surrounds the robots and slices them to pieces. He didn't have any time and began swinging using his string around the city like spider man and found some robots in which he easily sliced while also saving a few people along the way knowing it would give him points. 

He easily evaded their attack even when he was surrounded and used every bit of his surroundings to defeat them with minimal collateral damage. Having destructive power seems fun in the battle field but it's impractical when it runs amok. 

Hand to hand combat isn't suited to fighting robots which is why he opted to use a martial art that uses his environment to his advantage. Robots are unable to see his string due to the fact he can change the property of the thread and turn the chunk metals into bits. 

Even with how thick and dense the armor plating of the robots was, it was easily sliced into pieces. He also tries his best to help and save people from trouble. 

Case in point, the grape juice was annoying since he seemed to lead the robots into people which in turn left those people vulnerable but it saved him a lot of trouble in searching for robots.

He senses Toru who took his advice and found the buttons which disable the robots. They didn't necessarily have to destroy the robot and rendering them unable to move is enough. 

Ren nodded and about to leave when the little midget brought another stronger robot towards Toru who was about to crush and decided to save her rushing towards her where he said.

"Overheat!" 

He pulled her into his despite being bare chest and felt her breast press against his body didn't try to act perverted since he has self control and held her close and said.

"You alright? I was worried that you might get squash since no one can see you."

"....D-Do you see me?"

Toru blush a bit feeling her body pressed against his but wanted to know if he can see her and said.

"Not really but I have a perceptive sense which allows me to see you. Hope you have requested a DNA base hero costume because being naked would be bad."

"...DNA base what?"

Toru confused what he meant while Ren knew that those kinds of costumes are expensive but still letting her wear only gloves and boots isn't practical. It was then the exam had ended while Ren sighs and they all return to the bus that brought them there and explains at the bus about the Costume he mentioned which surprised Toru and said.

"Well, I hope we can be classmates and talk more about it but I recommend asking for it since I feel like it would be terrible if you get sick but keep yourself naked."

Ren truly felt sorry and wanted to help her the best he can but didn't try to push too hard since they know each other and Toru already got enough help from him. She blushed at his words and recalled how dependable his chest feels despite how lean his body is. It felt broader than it looks. 

"I-I'll keep that in mind. B-By the way, C-Can I ask for your number? I want to ask more about your suggestion later if that's alright?"

She doesn't know why but Toru felt her heart pounding and wanted to know more about him while Ren smiled and took out his point giving the point to Toru and added her number and said.

"There, I hope we're classmates."

After a while, Ren left Toru who kept thinking about him and how she knew that he's someone special making her wonder about what she was feeling at that moment.

As the students were fighting robots, Melissa was watching everything on the screen. She was seated along with the U.A's teachers, observing the test. She felt something was off and opted to frown.

"Are you alright, Melissa?" 

Asked All Might in his skinny form. Melissa waved her hands. She found her uncle's condition a few months prior and had been helping her father and crush to help find a way to save him. 

"I'm fine Uncle Might. I just felt something but it's probably nothing.."

"I think she just experienced this because her friends might be in danger."

The one who spoke was Nezu, a mouse...?bear..?...Chimera?...The rat god and the principal of U.A was watching the test in satisfaction while sipping his tea.

"It is expected knowing the exam is a lot harder than previous years, thanks to Melissa's help and making them faster and studier...the student may find it difficult to overcome." (Nezu)

They saw an examinee ignoring someone who was stuck on rubble and continuing to gather more points, someone stealing points from another, and all sorts of actions that aren't befitting of a hero.

"However." 

All Might smiled hearing the rat god speak looking at the screen.

"It is also in this moment where true heroes will shine!"

They saw someone helping others, someone They saw someone helping others, someone saving another from the missiles, some were teaming up, some were assisting those who were injured and many more!

"Still…"

A female teacher began, looking at the screen that showed Izuku and Katsuki then to Ren who was running and destroying the target as if they were nothing. She was a bit surprised at his feminine face and lick her lips.

"The exam seems child's play for those two but that pretty boy is out of their world. I have to say that I love how he looks~"

Everyone rolled their eyes while Melissa opted to glared that was noticed by her making an O expression before smirking.

'My my does she like the pretty boy~? This makes me eager to know more about what he has in store for us~?"

Even while dealing with the robots, he was also helping and assisting other examinees, though one of them out way the other in helping. 

"His speed and power is the most powerful quirk I've seen. I don't know what his quirk is….does anyone know the name of his quirk?"

A tall and muscular male teacher asked the same question everyone was wondering. The one who answered was Melissa and said.

"He calls it…the Marriotte."
