30 Chapter 28 - Hero Battle Arc 2

"Ahem! Now then, Teams and opponents shall be determined by drawing lots!" Declared All Might as he held out a lottery box.

"Is that really how we'll be doing that?" Asked Tenya in shock.

"Makes sense, considering pros often have to team up with other heroes from other agencies on the spot during emergencies," Commented Izuku.

"Time won't allow you to wait for someone you want." AllMight said.

"Ah, I see!" Exclaimed Tenya before quickly bowing to All Might.

"Please forgive my rudeness!"

"It's all right!" Said All Might before turning away from them.

"Now let's get this started!" Soon the teams were quickly formed and Ren saw his teammate glancing at her.

Team A: Ochako Uraraka & Izuku Midoriya.

Team B: Momo Yaoyorozu & Toru Hagakure

Team C: Ren Kazuno & Kyoka Jiro

Team D: Fumikage Tokoyami & Hanta Sero

Team E: Tsuyu Asui & Yuga Aoyama

Team F: Denki Kaminari & Katsuki Bakugo

Team G: Shoto Todoroki & Tenya Iida

Team H: Eijiro Kirishima & Rikido Sato

Team I: Mashirao Ojiro & Mezo Shoji

Team J: Mina Ashido & Camie Utsushimi

"All right, now that we have the teams set up, let's who's going against whom first!" said All Might as two more lottery boxes appeared next to him, the right side labeled Villain while the left side was labeled Hero.

"First up, we have... Team G as Villain against... Team G is Hero?" Questioned All Might before remembering his mistake of putting all ten letters in both boxes.

"Whoops! Just a test!" Said All Might hastily, tossing the G ball away and quickly grabbing another letter inside the hero box.

"I mean... Team C will be the Hero team!"

The four students that were called out quickly walked out from the crowd.

"Now then, the villains will go into the building and have 5 minutes to plan out their defenses. After that, the hero team will enter, and the game begins! Everybody else will be in the monitoring room to view how you do. Surveillance cameras will be everywhere to monitor your actions! Villain team, use this time to adopt a 'villainous' mindset. This is a practical experience, so don't hold back, go all out without fear of injury! Though I will stop it if things go too far." Explained All Might while they all nodded and Ren went up to his girls who were cheering him on like the rest of them.

"Guess we'll be partners for today, Jiro-san." Ren walked up to Jiro who nodded trying to remain composed despite how heart pounding it is to be with him not because she was attractive to him but rather her ability to be of any use when Ren mentioned his achievement. She felt inferior compared to her when her quirk was just earphone jacks.

Though her doubts and anxiety were presence didn't let it get to her and was determined to show that she will be a hero or rather someone who can have an active role in their fight. On the other hand, Ren find her quirk to be use in combat since despite his senses doesn meant it was perfect since he hardly reach Transcendent Realm.

He can see through her but didn't try to act too friendly since she seems to be the type who likes to rely on him and let her prove herself first.

"Yeah, I'll do my best to help out. Though I don't know how to fight, I think I can handle myself." Jiro said while Ren nodded, noticing a gaze turning his head to Todoroki who was glaring at him while Denki tried desperate talking to him.

"Dude, did you do something bad? I can't help but notice he's been constantly glaring at your ass." She commented slightly disturbed by how Todoroki had murderous intent while Ren shrugged and said.

"Maybe no one can escape my good looks." Jiro couldn't help but laugh at his words and said.

"What are you saying, your narcissist." She can't help but feel more relaxed since Ren can talk like a normal person despite how he constantly had this protagonist vibe who is the best of the best and loner type but he's more chill and acts playful. Though, Ren can consider it more of a facade to let people get their guard down and when strike like a snake.

"Anyway, let's get ready and head to the building." Ren said while Jiro nodded, walking beside him as they headed towards the building where they had to wait a few minutes to let the villain team prepare. The place was a large building around five stories tall but the materials used were rather weak and it was made quickly and cheaply.

'I wonder where they get the budget to make this and gain the maintenance but then again, they are likely sponsored by large companies with the addition of quirk users.'

Ren thought to himself always having a thought about their resources and other budget in running the school. He recalled that his family has a percentage in the school and helps run it.

"So what's the plan?" His thought was interrupted when Jiro spoke as he leaned on the railing and thought for a moment while she continued.

"From what I've seen, they likely shield the bomb using Todoroki-san quirk, making it harder for us to get it and possibly make dummy rooms into letting us think that the bomb is inside the place." Ren nodded amaze by her analyzing skill but it was rather the surface level. He knows the thought won't be able to cooperate since Todoroki-san is a lone wolf while Iida is too "by the book" person.

"You're right, but they won't be able to think of a thorough plan seeing the two would have difficulty communicating. Todoroki would confront me since he thinks of me as a rival while Iida would stay where they were located. You've mentioned your quirk allows you to basically have sonar and echolocation if you plugged it to the wall?"

Jiro nodded and said.

"That's right but it won't be too accurate as I'm still getting a hang of differentiating sound."

"That's fine, an outline is better. Anyway, the best thing is for you to sneak into where Iida is while I'm occupied with Todoroki."

Though Ren can easily solo everyone, it is best to keep a low profile and not get ahead of himself since it would rob too much of an opportunity for others to grow. Jiro nodded but a thought came to her mind.

"Do you think Todoroki can freeze the entire building?"

"Of course but he won't do that. Todoroki would challenge and test himself against me. I've already made sure of his agro at me before we even start knowing the possibility of us being paired to fight."

"Woah? Really?"

Jiro gasped in surprise, finding out Ren actually planned ahead that he predicted who will be his opponent and took advantage of it.

"Nope." It wasn't a lie and hoping to find Todoroki but his prediction isn't flawless and thought about most of the possibilities, especially how he'll act. In other words, he was far from being at Aizen's level of planning. Meanwhile, Jiro's eyes twitched at how he was joking around and just ignored it.

"So our plan is for me to move and find the bomb while you fight ice boy?"

"Yeah, if he does design to freeze the entire building try your best to break it. I do believe you can use your earphone jack to vibrate, right?"

"Yeah, alright then. Simple enough."

After planning for a few seconds, Ren and Jiro waited for a few more minutes while the former was busy trying to experiment on something. He was making simple thread attaching to every fiber of his clothes making it an essential living suit where he can control it with his mind.

Ren knew that veins of the human body are similar to string fibers and by connecting it to his brain and making subconscious parts of his brain to move it, giving the suit the thought of protecting the user. It was like letha from spawn and Jiro's saw his cloak moving could help but remark something.

"What the? How is your cloak moving?"

"I just added my own string and connected it to my nervous system, then created a subconscious decision within my mind to essentially tell it what to do."

"Wow, at this point I don't know what you can't do."

"Well, I do have limits in what kind of string I make and how long they stay. I've only trained to the point where it doesn't bother me enough."

True, the first time he used his quirk to kill those assassins at his birthday would have struggled if it weren't for his own experience and constant cultivation as well training. Though, he has [ unrestricted Self development] does not equate to instant mastery nor adaptability merely quicken the pace of his own development. It took a while where his precision was unmatched.

Ren noticed that clothe fibers slowly change to his will and can reformed and harden having essentially made pseudo awaken by affecting the cloth of his cloak.

'Still, it needs a lot of adjustment but I didn't expect it to work.'

He gave a nod on the cloak and acted like a symbiote and was satisfied with the result. The people watching seem to have noticed the two and began to chatter.

"Woah, what did Kazuno-san do with his costume? Is that normal?"

Sato remarked watching as his costume moves on its own while Izuku gave his own analysis.

"Ren-Nii most likely added his own string fibers into the clothes and manipulated it like a puppet." They nodded looking at the screen as Camie spoke.

"So guys, who do you think will win this round? I bet 500 yen on Kazuno-kun." Allmight hear this and scold Camie.

"No betting in class with money. But I'm curious about your opinion. Who will be the winner?" They all began to give some thought and Tsuyu was the first one to give her thoughts.

"We don't know a lot of Todoroki-san quirk unlike Kazuno-chan since he told us his quirk and I believe he'll win this round."

"Same here, I know Jiro-san from middle school and her quirk will be useful in locating their enemy." Denki commented.

"I can't decide who'll win but I also choose Kazuno-kun! What about you, Yaomomo?"

They turned to Ren's love who looked at the screen and said.

"As much as I love Ren, I can't give a concrete answer when I lack the information to his enemies' full capabilities."

It was a lie. Momo knew Ren could easily decimate them but chose to not go all out in order to make his enemies underestimate him. Not to mention, she doesn't want to reveal too much information about Ren since it was his right to tell, not her.

"Same here, as much as I admire Ren-Nii, I don't know the full extent of Todoroki-san and Iida-san's team." Izuku added, looking at the screen cheering his elder brother not knowing he doesn't need it when he already won the moment it started.

"I believe in Ren-kun! I doubt he'll lose." Toru said while the rest also put their money's (not literal money) on Ren since it was hard to compare and know the outcome without seeing Todoroki and Iida's overall abilities.

Ren gave them the surface level of information in regards to his quirks which gave some light on how the match can go. Back at the building, Ren and Jiro were chatting a bit waiting for the match to start.

"So what's your favorite kind of music?"

"Well, traditional classical music especially Zither but I don't mind mainstream music like rock, hip hop and other kinds."

"Why zither?" Jiro is curious since she finds it strange and fascinating to hear his taste in music. She was open minded in the topic and didn't mind their taste to be different but found it odd why he enjoyed those kinds of music.

"Well, it calms my mind and heart especially when I train. Though it started to get into punk rock and mainstream music."

"Really? I can recommend some to you if you want?"

"Sure, that would be great. I'm not that good at finding good music since I'm busy focusing on training and spending time with the girls." Jiro heard him and learnt that there are things he's not good at. She also finds his relationship to be a strange one but his tone show that he deeply cared about them.

"You really like them huh?"

"Of course, I'm a man and it's my responsibility to make them happy and vice versa."

Jiro couldn't help but wonder if he'll ever find someone similar to Ren and more curious about his relationship with them but was cut off when they heard Allmight allowing them to head inside as Ren grew an evil grin.

"Finally. Now then….let's dance."
