3 chapter 3

Shyam muttered looking at the officer being well aware of what would his next sentence be.

"So, Mr.Raizada, the case will now be taken over by the CBI, I'm afraid you will have to stay in India or rather in Mumbai, until we come to a radical conclusion"

"Are you trying to tell me that he is still being accused?" Shyam shot up instantly.

"Not really,but--"

"Are you saying that my brother-in-law here have pushed that lady and then came down instantly while she was still travelling in air??" Shyam raised his voice dipping in sarcasm, standing up from his chair and thumping the table around which they were seated, his fuming gaze fixed at the officer-- not being able to take that, all his efforts to save Arnav have all gone in vain.

"Shyam--"

"No Arnav, just let me handle this, NOW!" he sharply cut him off, too angry at his over the top thoughtful friend.

Ajay Rathod let out a deep breath in frustration and held his gaze at the determined lawyer. "Look Mr Jha, we have already gone through this argument, while his driver's eye-witness stands valid, we just cannot be sure of anything yet and the fact that Mr.Raizda knew her before-"

"Did you hear what he spoke about her at all??" Shyam spat out incredulously. "He only gave you information about the kind of girl she was, he dint KNOW her.I think you should just thank him for that piece of information and let go off him already!" He turned around in a jerk moment making his firm statement.

There was a limit until which a police officer could speak with utmost respect and patience to the most influenced people of the society, that doesn't just mean he would take orders. He sighed again in exasperation and shifted his attention to the only silent spectator in the room.

"Mr.Raizada, I'm sorry but we are just doing our duty. We will not take you under custody nor ask you to visit the Judiciary. All we need is your cooperation and constant presence in Mumbai." He explained and threw a pointed look at Shyam who was now showing his back to them.

"Considering the uncertainty in this situation and keeping in mind your reputation, this is being offered and I think you should appreciate our efforts---"

"Excuse me?" Shyam turned around abruptly not believing the nerve of this officer. What the f**k happened to the mighty ASR???

"I'll stay" Arnav stated before Shyam could say anything else. Shyam just threw his hands in air muttered a great' sarcastically under his breath.

And thus Arnav Singh Raizada's forever running legs have stilled in this place. A place that held lot of answers for his questions. After that little meeting, the investigation has not been progressed much. They were able to fetch pieces of information from the hospital in which she stayed, but nothing at all helped them to determine if it was a suicide attempt or an attempt to murder. It would not have been such an important case to investigate if it was not for Arnav Singh Raizada's intervention. Sure the news of him being accused created havoc in the media and industry, but it was all not the reason for his determination.

His reasons were completely different. The Khushi he knew would never ever take such a step. The Khushi he knew was an example of a life"illustration of living, she was an epitome of hope and joy.

And then there was this version of Khushi whom he met on the terrace all those months ago. The girl standing on the terrace--- was just something else. He remembered himself walking back from the terrace with an adorning smile on his face, the person he met added to his influential memory, that's what he thought on his way back down through the elevator.

"Like they say death is the biggest misery and anything that happens before death is all just life?"

There was a hope in the way she said this, it wasn't the voice of a giving up soul, it was the voice of a fighter; the determination and self motivation pouring out of her words amazed him.
