16 chapter 16

He looked at her arching his eye-brow. "You stopped by to help me, so you are good and so I can trust you that you will safely drop me home, because you only stopped to help me right?"

"What stupid logic is that? You aren't supposed to just blindly trust any random person for reasons like this! For all you know, I could take you off to somewhere else and have my way with you"

"No you wouldn't!" was her curt reply.

"You know nothing about me!" his reply came immediate and crisp.

"Ofcourse I do, but from all wrong sources you see?"

"What do you mean?" he was curious now.

"You are a rich brat, arrogant ass, never friendly and can never make a civil conversation without yelling, you are cynical, insulting, outrageous, ----" she went on not quite noticing how his knuckles hardened around the wheel, how his jaw clenched hearing his own insult and how he was right now glaring at her.

"But you are not evil, and--" she paused finally looking at him but completely ignoring of his raged glare.

"The last part, I'll tell you later" she added and grinned.

After another 15 minutes of her non-stop blabber teamed with her directions to her place, they were now standing against his car below her building which seemed like an apartment to him. He checked the time on his watch which indicated 12:30 am and looked questioningly at her.

"Wont your parents mind you coming this late?" somehow she dint seem like the typical rich kid whose parents just wouldn't mind anything about their children.

"They trust me" she shrugged.

"Ah I can very well name this day in my life with "Trust"--" he commented sarcastically and reached for his car door""Arnav!" she stopped him again. It has become like a routine now. He would turn around to leave and she would stop him just when he would be reaching for his car door. He turned to face her again.

"I know the real you as well" she stated directly meeting his eye and dint miss the uncertainty registered in them.

Without giving him a chance to brush her off, she continued quickly. "The mask of arrogance you wear is just to keep people away, the yelling you do is just to scare them off but in reality you test people. You test them in your own way and challenge them to see if they can cross the barriers that you put up so efficiently around you. You intentionally make it appear that the walls around you are strong enough that no one could ever hurt you"but actually all it needed is an honest approach and that would be enough to pass your test, right?"

He took a sharp breath in and looked away from her boring gaze. She surprised him every second with every venture. He was now seeing a very different person. If he thought the girl talked about trust was a mature version of her, he should actually get the definition of maturity checked in his dictionary because the one he is witnessing right now is just something else. "I didn't know your subjects are Philosophy and Face-reading" he came up with the most rationalize answer to her direct question.

"Are you telling me that I'm right then?" again she caught him off the guard! Hell this can't be happening!

"Listen you Khushi kumara Guptha--"

"See you do remember my name and I will not be annoyed at you"

He ignored how she seemed to be catching all his secrets efficiently and maintained his furious glare while she grinned with that hint of confidence in her tone. "I don't talk about my behavioral issues with random strangers, who roam around in night with illegitimate people"

Insult, blatant insult---his other marvelous way to keep people at bay and not let them in, although he used this as his last pawn, the way she was trying to peep through his walls dint go very well with him and so he had to use. He thought he did see a splash of hurt in her eyes, but that had quickly vanished away to his utmost dissatisfaction.

She sighed stepping a bit closer and smiled a fake one at him.
