12 1.10 AuYeung LaiSan - Finally Returning

An-yi who had been waiting just behind the front door, excitedly pulled it open when she heard her master's voice.

"Princess you're back..." An-yi's excitement faded as she saw whose carriage was parked in front of the residence. "Greeting to Crown Prince," she said solemnly while kneeling now.

"Do you know your crime?" the Prince asked sternly.

"This servant understands and will take responsibility, please pass down punishment," An-Yi said calmly.

"Stop! Brother, she had no choice, I made her and the guards stay behind."

"But she still conspired with you to pull off such an outrageous act. What if something happened to you? How many heads does she have for us to chop off?"

"Stop! Nothing happened, except being caught by you," MeiMei turns away from her brother, crosses her arms and pouts.

"Okay, okay, I will let them off this time," the Prince said teasingly, while petting MeiMei's head.

"Brother!" MeiMei turned and glared at her brother then stormed off into the residence leaving the Crown Prince outside.

"MeiMei, I'll be leaving then. Remember to not cause trouble!" the Prince yelled after her.

As the door closed we heard the carriage rolling away.

"MeiMei what are we going to do? If word spreads about today's incident it will affect your reputation! And a girl's reputation is everything."

"No worries, my brother will help me suppress the news or turn it around so that it is favorable, he will help me out. He always had."

"Okay if you say so," I said still a bit worried.

"Now we need to meet with Mrs. AuYeung and keep her company. I will also request to sleep in the same room as Miss AuYeung so to try your idea of transferring back when we sleep."

As we walked from one end of the residence to the other, we passed by many children playing in the center courtyards and laughter seem to fill the household.

With an internal sigh, MeiMei said, "LaiSan, you know it would be nice if one day I could marry into a simple household like this but I am almost certain a political marriage will be in my future."

"You don't know that. Wasn't the Emperor just yesterday wanting to marry you to the General? That wasn't a political marriage."

"Who knows what father Emperor was thinking. Maybe in his mind it was to make sure the General continued to be loyal to the royal family."

"Don't dwell on it. I can tell that the Emperor and Empress really cares about you, they will never let you suffer."

"Yeah."

With a tinge of doubt in both our thoughts about the future, we both just blankly stared out into the early evening landscape, as we made our way to the madam's courtyard.

As we approached the courtyard, MeiMei broke the silence. "Would you please ask if Mrs. AuYeung be willing to receive this visitor?" addressing maid standing outside the closed bedroom door.

"I am sorry Princess but the madam was feeling a bit tired and has taken a nap. She had been staying up to take care of young Miss and had not slept well the last two nights."

"Okay, I understand, then I will not disturb auntie," MeiMei expressed her disappointment.

"Laisan, let's go visit Miss AuYeung. Maybe just by contact we can achieve our goal."

MeiMei walked towards the young Miss' courtyard. Upon arrival, she asked the maid standing watch and An-yi to please go get her some tea and snacks. She would be visiting with Miss AuYeung for a little while.

MeiMei walked in and sits on the small cherry wood stool next to the bed.

"Okay, MeiMei why don't you try touching her hand?

So she places her hand on top of Miss AuYeung's hand. A spark electricity went through her body, she immediately let's go.

"What happened? LaiSan, did you feel that?

LaiSan? Are you there?

"LaiSan?" MeiMei touches Miss AuYeung hand once again but this time there was no sensation. MeiMei tried gently shaking her a bit but no response.

"LaiSan where are you?" No answer.

"LaiSan?"

Hearing the Princess scream out for their young Miss, the maid could not help but try to comfort her, "Princess, please don't be too saddened. I know the Miss will wake up soon. I truly believe that."

An-yi also comes to comfort the Princess, "Yes your highness must have faith. The young Miss has never done anything wrong, I am sure that even the gods will be watching over her."

"That is right!" a new voice was heard and all three ladies turn to the door. Imperial Scholar was at the entryway.

"Greetings Imperial Tutor," MeiMei said..

"Greetings Imperial Scholar." An-yi said.

"Greeting Master, welcome home," the little servant girl said.

"Um. Don't be so worried, I feel my daughter is just taking a rest and she will wake very soon. Looking at the two maids, Imperial directed, "You two please go assist with the preparation of dinner. I can stay here with the Princess."

After the two maids have gone a bit of ways, "So what is it that I hear a certain Princess was caught dressed as a commoner at the post house?"

"Uhhhh…" I very slyly avoided eye contact.

"I even received a letter from General SzeTo in response to my inquiry, strange though I don't recall ever inquiring. Princess Mei would you happen to know where he might have gotten that idea?" Tutor continued prodding. "Well, he expressed his sincere interest in continuing with the pursuit of an engagement with my daughter and proposes that when he returns in three months that we make it official."

"That's great, LaiSan will be so happy." MeiMei bursted out saying.

"I am not sure about my daughter's feelings toward this, but child I must thank you for putting in so much effort for my daughter's future happiness. I never knew you two were so close?"

He patted her on the head.

"But this time you were too impulsive, it has affected your reputation and now there are all sorts of gossip going around the city. It will not be long until the Empress hears about it and summons you back. I met with the Crown Prince upon exiting the Imperial Palace and he explained everything to me or else I would have had the same impression as everyone else and thought that you were completely infatuated with the General. The crown prince also said he will go try to iron this out for you with the Emperor and Empress, hopefully it will lessen your punishment when you return."

"Okay now return to your room and rest up a bit before dinner. I will order someone to go get you when dinner is ready. Rest well Princess," the Imperial Tutor said.

"Um. The thought of receiving punishment when returning I really wanted time to slow down so the next day would never come," MeiMei said sadly.

Imperial Tutor just sighs.

Meimei slowly trek past all the gardens and courtyards until she reached the Jade Pavilion, She plopped down in bed and soon fell asleep.

Meanwhile, LaiSan was again ejected from MeiMei's body after touching her own body, saw and heard everything that was going on until MeiMei fell asleep. She now has arrived again in the Lord of Fate's palace and is sitting in ZhiHin's room talking to him about what had occurred.

"How can a single touch eject my soul out of MeiMei's body. I tried to go back to my own body but I could not completely merge. So I tried going back into MeiMei's but it would allow me at all and shocked me again."

"It looks like the contact with your own body has made the Princess' body reject you. The fact that you can partially merge with your own body in a good thing, it may mean that you will be back in your own body soon. But looking at you right now, lady you are looking a bit pale. I think you are losing too much spiritual energy traveling back and forth through time. Let me go get you some supplements."

ZhiHin is gone for a good fifteen minutes before he finally returns holding a small pouch. He inverse the pouch and out drops a black pill the size of a marble.

"Take this and it will replenish your spiritual energy, and hopefully with that it will be enough to connect AuYeung LaiSan with its soul and pull you from this realm and back into your own body," ZhiHin said.

I take the pill and I glowed, then suddenly I feel a familiar pulling sensation and I quickly said goodbye.
