Chapter 1 - Demon King of Oblivion

"Speech"

'Thoughts'

[System]

I'm not unique in any way. I only have one thing that I'm good at. Hitting my head on a wall till it fucking cracks!

[Please design a personality for your Demon King.]

So as I sit here in this void with this system telling me to become a demon king, I will break this wall even if I have to die multiple times!

"Hahaha!" I laughed at my own inside joke.

I had died—not once, but twice. In my first life, I played video games, read stories, and even tried theories on how certain abilities would work.

My life came to an unrealistic end as I died, finally getting this one unit in a tower defense game. I had grinded my life away for a month straight before getting the unit and dying in my sleep in happiness.

DIO Over Heaven was worth it!

In my second life, I decided to maximize myself. I became a streamer for this new game, Entwined Destinies.

It was a full virtual reality game that had everything you could think of. Realistic senses, a massive fantasy world, and the ability to choose your race.

I won't lie; I was a pretty big streamer of the game and had thousands of returning viewers. There was only one problem.

The population. The world I had reincarnated into seemed like a futuristic version of my last one. Men had slowly begun dying out.

I mean, literally, men were seen as devils due to the pushing of random agendas, and because of that, men had begun game-ending themselves.

By the time everyone realized what was happening, there were almost two women for every man on the planet.

It was sort of funny because I got to laugh at those horrid agendas finally biting them in the ass!

But as I was a male streamer that could be considered higher in the look scales compared to others, I had a large female following.

In the middle of streaming, I had someone break into my house. It was a woman, supposedly a fan of mine.

She had broken into my house and wanted to force me to go out with her. As someone who didn't focus on relationships due to wanting to maximize my second life's goals, I did the only thing that made sense.

"Thank you for asking me out, though. I don't know if you had to break into my house to do it. But if you were in my shoes, would you date yourself?"

That must have hit a nerve because she stabbed me live on stream more than five times before I lost consciousness.

That leaves me here. This black void reminds me of the race-choosing system of Entwined Destinies.

[Please design a personality for your Demon King.]

A personality?

"My demon king would be calm, calculating, and a battle maniac! When not in combat, he'd take the path of a ruler, with all the benefits and traits of one!

He would be an excellent judge of character, while on the battlefield he would be able to correctly judge the weaknesses and strengths of his opponents. Not caring if he had to take the front lines or if he had to be the rear guard!

Enjoying the thrill of battle while also being able to keep a respectful and noble personality. The ultimate conqueror!"

I had been thinking in this void for a while about the type of demon king I would be and how I would look. Being a reincarnated person with two lives, I knew so much media that it was hard to choose from.

There was only one I knew I had to choose from. He was on my list of powers to have and beings to be.

[Please customize the looks of your demon king.]

I started with the body. Light blue skin. His face, by human standards, was beyond handsome, but instead of having two eyes, he was a cyclops with one blue eye in the center of his face. Another single eye is right below the pectoral muscles.

Long, light blue elf-like ears with spiky pinky hair. I built him to be muscular and intimidating, with a height of 7 feet and 10 inches.

His mouth held sharp, white teeth. Dark blue lines were throughout his entire body as if they were veins.

I made it so his genitalia were able to be hidden inside his body whenever he needed them. I cannot allow any weakness in this demon king.

[Please describe the powers of your Demon King!]

[Marble of Essence]: A pink marble with a purple glow. The marble shrinks and becomes more durable as the person's strength increases. Able to be moved throughout the body of the person at faster speeds than reactable to said person.

The marble acts as a heart, mind, and energy container. If the body is damaged or vaporized, the marble will regenerate the body from scratch around itself if needed.

If the marble breaks, then the person dies.]

[Astronomical Energy Reserves]: The person has an unreal amount of energy trapped inside their body.]

[Nigh-Uncontrollable Energy]: The person has nearly uncontrollable energy that unleashes itself explosively.]

[Genetically Perfect]: This person is the peak of their species, and because of that, they earn the extra talents [Prodigy], [Peak of Species], and [Survivor of the Harshest].]

[Unparalleled Regeneration]: By concentrating energy on a limb or the whole body, the person will be able to regenerate at an impossibly quick rate.]

[Auto-generating baseline abilities and skills...]

[Due to talent [Survivor of the Harshest] recalibrating abilities...]

[Abilities]: Regeneration (A), Energy Release (D), Energy Control (E-), Marble Control (B-), Power Sensing Sight (S+)]

[Skills]: Holding Back (Novice), Vaporizing Energy Wave (Novice), Semi-Legendary Hand-to-Hand Combat (Novice+)]

[Please describe your race and choose a name for it.]

"Born on the harshest of planets where the weather, temperature, and lack of water and food would kill a normal human, this race persisted.

Using their unbelievable regenerative abilities, they pushed forward. Due to their uncontrollable energy, they developed a way to hold back their power, causing their skin to change to a light shade of blue.

When not holding back, they unleash their energy, causing their skin color to change to a darker blue and showing the amount of energy coursing through their body. The veins of their bodies glow a bright neon blue, along with bright neon-colored hair.

When fully concentrating their energy, they are able to go into another form where their form inverts and their skin color goes fully white, growing their hair. The veins on the body turn a purplish-black. This form is called [Meteoric Burst]. A form that allows them to push past the limit of flesh and blood.

The name of this race is Ignotus Alienigena."

[Pick a name for your Demon King!]

"Boros."

[Demon King Boros, signed in as the first Demon King finished customized creation.]

[Notice: You are the first pillar clan of hell.]

[1/72]

I had to give a backstory that expanded on the abilities I could have. This game was very technical when it came to backstories, and you could write your way into power with a clever enough race.

[Detecting a lack of demon abilities… applying demon heritage.]

[Soul Sight]: The ability to see souls. As a demon, you deal with souls and death as naturally as a human breathes.]

[Soul Eater]: The ability to gain a minor status increase in mana by eating souls. This is a demon's bread and butter. Consume all.]

[Low-Class Demon Blood]: You are a pure-blooded demon! Holy attacks are stronger against you, while attacks from the demonic attribute are weaker! 1.3x all stats due to being a low-class demon.]

The second I finished reading the newly added demonic abilities, I blinked.

'I can't blink in the character selection.' I thought as I looked down.

My hands were now a light blue. The body I had been customizing was now my body.

[Please design your status distribution.]

[Vitality: 0]

[Strength: 0]

[Dexterity: 0]

[Endurance: 0]

[Intelligence: 0]

[Arcane: 0]

[Skill Points: 50]

I had to think about this carefully. These were the base stat points that everyone started with.

Common classes got five status points per level and started out with 25 base status points. It was your base status point gain times five.

Rare classes started with 40, Epic classes with 50, and the second-best rarity, legendary, started with 60.

These first fifty points would make or break any build I want to try and form in the future. I needed to be extremely careful.

'Vitality... the amount of health something has and the amount of resistance you can have against baseline diseases.'

'Strength... how hard you can hit and how much weight you can lift. Without enough dexterity, you won't be able to fully use it.'

'Dexterity... this one is one of the most important stats in the game. It ties into speed, reaction time, flexibility, and hand-eye coordination. This also ties into making your punches hit harder by moving your fist faster, but too much speed and not enough strength could cause a backlash.'

'Endurance... how much stamina someone has. I remember people going into PvP and holding back their status points. The moment they got knocked down, they would go on a speech about how friendship and good cannot lose, only to put in all their status points and win.

Endurance can be useful for running long distances or chasing someone down.'

'Intelligence... the total amount of mana or energy someone has. This stat could be used to shrug off mental attacks if high enough, and I remember someone saying it had a secret function.'

'Arcane... this stat is useful for rituals involving gods or using a god's power that has been bestowed on you. Most players would kill dragons and eat their hearts to unlock their ability to breathe fire or whatever breath attack they had.

I was one of the most valued champions of the chaos god of blood on one of my accounts, and I had zero arcane. It's not needed if you'll never use magic.'

From my time as a champion, I know of only one singular mythical class. I'll base my status on getting that class. Even though sub-classes don't give you status points, you can still get their skills.

I was shocked when the game offered me a mythical class while I was killing the other champions of the blood god. I denied the class. It would be a failure to use it on my champion character, and having the blood god have a mythical champion would cause all the other chaos gods to go mad with envy.

I'm sure the only way to get it is by being the epic class of Berserker and wanting nothing more than to kill demons or daemons. The class was titled...

The Slayer.

I knew any classes that people knew how to obtain would be gatekept by the pros. People would pay top dollar for class-unlocking information.

I don't even think people knew mythical classes were a thing. Due to the 'demon' update being now, you couldn't get 'The Slayer' class at all unless all the conditions aligned perfectly like they did for me.

'Calm down; you're getting too excited.' I thought to myself as I fought the massive grin on my face.

I stared at the status distribution page with seriousness. I knew what I was going to do.

[Vitality: 18.4 (8)]

[Strength: 13 (10)]

[Dexterity: 22.1 (17)]

[Endurance: 13 (10)]

[Intelligence: 26.5 (5)]

[Arcane: 0]

Arcane was useless to me. No god would team up with a demon, and the chaos gods would want my soul in exchange for power.

I saw that I got bonuses for vitality and intelligence, and I put most of my points into dexterity after getting enough of everything.

I would need to check my full status when it was available. For now, this would do.

The darkness around me lit up in a pinkish-purple color. The light was coming from behind me.

It was a sphere that looked exactly like the one I had depicted for [Mable of Essence].

[For the first challenge of becoming a Demon King, you shall be given a dungeon core. If this core breaks, you are out of the race. Each candidate will have a different-looking core, and it is your job to design a dungeon that will protect this core.]

I felt a smile ready to tear my face apart. This is what I was good at! Who knew I would get something so fun to use?

[Please design the first floor of your dungeon.]

Whoever gave me this chance must truly hate this world...
