68 Pulling apart

Zara neared Ryan and ordered, "Open your shirt, you are bleeding and you need to get the wounds cleaned". 

Ryan, who could see Jake watching both of them, tried to get up but Zara again stood in front of him. "Do it now"

He opened his shirt hesitantly and she saw the angry scars of her nails biting in his skin and tearing it apart. It broke her heart to see him this way- hurt and cold to her. 

She took the first-aid kit from the reception and opened the lid carefully taking out the antiseptic and the swabs. She held his chin in one hand and carefully dabbed at his face, wiping away blood with the cotton. 

Her eyes then travelled to his bare chest and she stifled a cry. Though a tear fell down from her eye and landed on his hand.

Ryan looked her in the eye, his face laced with guilt. He opened his mouth to apologize, to make her feel better but what do you say to someone whom you had brutally crushed a while ago?
