145 I'm going to talk to him

Jake looked around uncertainly, having trouble forming a coherent sentence. He fumbled a bit. "Oh, I heard about you procuring special medicines for her. Thanks."

Ryan put his hands in his pockets and leaned on the wall, "You would have done the same. She is our friend."

Jake's face twitched uncomfortably at that. Ryan knew he had hit a nerve. 

"You should just speak whatever has been bothering you. No harm in speaking your mind."

Jake fumbled, unsure of how to give words to his deepest fear. But, in the end, he just threw his hands in the air. He needed to give up the pretense and get straight to the point. 

Jake looked at Ryan right in the eye as the words tumbled out of his mouth, "Do you love her?"

Ryan had been counting days until when Jake would finally ask him about her. He knew Jake well enough and wasn't sure how he would approach the subject. 

At least, he wasn't accusing Ryan of anything… yet.
