138 Hello father

Jake had been the brother to him that he didn't know he had needed or deserved. Jake had been his companion, his best friend while growing up though there had been a rift in their friendship when Ryan had met a strong and fierce girl, an independent and hot-headed girl who hadn't even looked at him the first time they had come across each other. But, she was long gone as was his mother.

"How may I help you, sir?" One of the girls from the receptionist desk spoke softly, her eyes unable to decide what feature of his face to focus on. Ryan looked around, apparently oblivious to the girl's pleas.

She tried once again, clearing her throat loudly. "Sir, sir.." She waved her hands in front of Ryan who was busy scrolling through his phone to find the exact floor number of the conference room where his father was going to have a meeting.
