Ryan could make neither head nor tail of it. His father had always trusted him, always. And, his father also knew that Alice would come running to him and tell him about their conversation.

Then, why? Why make the doubt so obvious?

Questions bombarded his mind but he couldn't find a tangible answer. He tossed that worry to the growing mountain of worries and questions that had already occupied a large chunk of his head.

"Doug, my friend. I haven't met him in forever. I think I need to pay him a visit soon. I am being too lenient on him and I think he is somehow influencing dad."

Tucking her phone in her jeans pocket, Alice muttered, "Nobody can influence dad, certainly not that half-cooked excuse of a filthy demon."

"Well something or someone is, and I need to find out who."
