Zara felt bad hearing that. This was yet another time when she had been so engrossed in her own life that she had never known what went on in her best friend's life.

"But...but...you had said both traveled a lot…"

Veronica placed a hand on her eyes to look around as she shrugged, "Yes, they both travel because they want to stay as far as possible from each other. Dad sends money to fund my schooling every month but that's it. He never asks if I am doing fine...if I need him...hell, I doubt if he would care if I die one day…"

Zara pulled her friend in a bear hug and veronica screamed, "Gosh, stop mauling me you mama bear…"

The two friends giggled at that and then Zara pulled her friend's cheek, "What would I do without you?"

Veronica flipped her hair, "For now, you would walk home alone, so we better find someone to help replace the flat tire."
