6 Plot Armor Slash!

While the monster was getting closer, Bruce had time to take a closer look at it. The rat was one meter long and forty centimeters tall. Covered in a dark and seemingly thick fur. The face was obviously rat-like and very creepy, but it wasn't the thing that stood out most about the beast; it was the red teeth that were big enough to be comparable to the goblins and the yellow claws. Those were so sharp and long that they didn't even look like claws… those looked like bones.

The beast ran those fifty meters in just four seconds, and when it entered Bruce's range, it jumped, pointing both claws toward him as well as opening its mouth to take a huge chunk of Bruce's neck. However, Bruce reacted in time to raise his suitcase and block the attack. However, it looked like that hadn't been a good idea. Bruce was knocked back from the impact to the point where he even rolled on the ground several times. Bruce got up as fast as possible, ignoring the burn he was feeling in some areas of his body. However, when he got up, he only saw the monster in front of him trembling.

"I see…" Bruce smirked. "What a dumb monster…"

Bruce wasn't the only one who suffered damage from the impact; the claws of the rat broke in two pieces. Not only that, the charge made the beast wound its face, and Bruce could also see the monster's mouth bleeding.

"I was wondering why I didn't see the status of the monster before…" Bruce muttered. "Maybe I need to be close enough to be able to see it."

Bruce didn't waste any more time than he already did and then approached the monster. There was nothing more dangerous than a wounded beast, so he didn't drop his guard. Just as he had expected, the big-ass rat tried to attack him again when Bruce got too close. Once again, Bruce stopped the charge with his suitcase, but then something unexpected happened… the suitcase broke.

"Eh?" Bruce muttered in shock.

It was evident that it would happen sooner or later. Although the suitcase had a few tricks, it had been crafted by some shady businessman who wanted to make money through a zombie apocalypse that didn't even happen. So, it was only natural that the durability would be questionable. Then again, Bruce also used the suitcase in a way that he wasn't supposed to. Noticing the surprise on Bruce's face, the monster tried to run away.

"No, you don't!" Bruce threw away his suitcase and then held the short sword with both hands. "Plot Armor Slash!"

Bruce charged before the monster could turn around completely and then swung his sword down the monster's head. He tried to behead the creature, but his slash had been anything but skillful. In the end, his clumsy attack hit the rat monster's head right in the middle. The vibration passed through Bruce's arms when his sword the monster's skull. Despite that, he had put all his weight before it and ended up cutting half of it.

The impact made blood and flesh spill toward Bruce. He felt great killing monsters and receiving rewards for doing so. However, the mess that was caused due to the battles wasn't something he didn't enjoy.

"As expected, there are merits and demerits in doing this in reality," Bruce said while cleaning his face and seeing his hands covered in blood. "This election, or whatever the hell it is, will probably become even bloodier. Yet… I don't have time to keep worrying about that. I have to move on and level up as much as possible before arriving home. It would be nice if I could use a phone and call them, but unfortunately, they even changed their numbers after disowning me. Even though I never asked them for anything after that…"

Bruce decided to move, but before he could do it, a man suddenly left the building on the other side of the road and then looked around in search of help. At least, that was what it looked like. Covered in blood, the man didn't look relieved when he saw Bruce; if anything, the glint of madness in his eyes only grew stronger when he saw Bruce.

"Perfect! I can form a party with him and then receive a new reward," Bruce smiled and then frowned when the man began to run at him with that crazy look on his face. "Huh?"

Two seconds after the man began to run, Bruce saw two goblins leaving the building where the man had been. The beasts immediately followed the man, but that didn't make Bruce feel nervous. In a two against two battle, it was obvious that the smartest side would win as long as their strengths were similar, and Bruce confirmed that after looking at the monster's statuses. However, he didn't like the look on the man's face.

"Could it be…" Bruce furrowed his eyebrows.

It was obvious what the man was plotting, he would use Bruce to get rid of the goblins on his back… he wanted to use Bruce as a bait. Although that wasn't a bad idea given how much dirt Bruce was with the monster's blood, it was a bit maddening, to say the least.

"Seriously… everyone has the right to be stupid; I really make good use of that right," Bruce muttered. "But some people abuse the privilege. I read in many stories that humans become scum in dire situations, but not after half an hour of hardships."

When Bruce finished that sentence, the man was about to pass by him. Although he was tall and he was also physically fit, that man had no intention whatsoever of fighting. For a second, Bruce thought of using that man as bait; he had the right to do so since the man wanted to lure him into a death trap. However, Bruce wasn't ready to become a criminal. Instead of that, Bruce kicked his suitcase that was on the floor toward the man. That guy not only got hit in the legs by it but also got knocked down. The momentum made the man roll on the ground several times after hitting his head.

"Stay where you are," Bruce said. "We will talk in a bit."

Bruce thought he was acting like a badass, but he didn't know how he would defeat both creatures without losing his head. The monsters were already a few meters away from him, and he couldn't defeat one without exposing his back to the other. Without any other option, Bruce decided to use his best technique: he decided to bullshit his ass out of that situation.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Bruce laughed maniacally.

The goblins, who had lowered down a little bit when Bruce knocked down the other man, hesitated a little. Even goblins had brains, so they recognized an armed confident foe. Bruce, it wasn't like the other humans who killed and couldn't defend themselves. Bruce hoped that one of the goblins would hesitate while the other would charge, but both of them slowed down quite a bit.

"Tsk," Bruce clicked his tongue. "It can't be helped."
