9 Clean slate

Before Morgan left for the airport, she visited first her grandparents in the paternal side. She went directly from the Vanderbilt mansion to her grandparents' mansion. She loved both set of grandparents. That's why she will properly say goodbye and spend time with her Vanderbilt grandparents. She told them that it was too painful for her to stay but didn't dwell on the specifics. She's afraid of what her grandfather would do if he knew the true reason of her departure. Although her grandparents were saddened by the news of her leaving, they understood her and still wished her well.

"Don't forget to call us from time to time okay? Don't be an asshole like your father who forgot about the poor senile us and stopped giving us attention. That ungrateful brat. And don't dare love your other grandfather more. You can only love us equally or me more than him" dignifiedly said grandfather Vanderbilt.

"Old man, watch your language. Your granddaughter is here" chastised grandmother Vanderbilt. She almost said to Morgan not to love her other grandmother more too but she didn't want to sound petty like her shameless husband.

"My granddaughter is not weak and can handle my language perfectly fine" scoffed grandfather Vanderbilt.

Grandmother Vanderbilt glared at her husband. Morgan just laughed. Her grandparents were too funny. She's going to miss them so much.

She hugged them both tightly and jokingly said, "be good, okay? And don't make anymore babies. You're too old for that."

"..."

Morgan laughed again at the expression of her grandparents' faces.

"Listen to your doctors and rear in your stubborn heads. Take your medicines religiously and don't overwork yourselves."

"Hey child, when did you become our parent?" asked grandfather Vanderbilt. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry. With the way her granddaughter was talking to them, no one would think he was once the formidable king who ruled the business world in the country decades ago, and her wife once a senator.

"We heard you loud and clear, dear" harrumphed grandmother Vanderbilt. Her granddaughter was such a worrywart.

Morgan did not know that her grandfather transferred to her shares equivalent to 20% of the Vanderbilt empire. And that her grandparents transferred to a bank account under her name 1 billion dollars that she only came to find out later on. But this part is another story for the future.

After hugging and kissing them goodbye, Morgan head to the cemetery. She had one more person to visit.

---------

"Hey, B. I'm leaving. I'm leaving for good. It's just to painful to be here. And I'm cutting people from my life. Don't worry, I already thought things through and I'm not being hasty. I just want a clean slate. And I need peace. I'm sorry if I wouldn't be able to visit you for a long time. But I have to go. Love you, B. I hope your at peace wherever you are now."

----------

At the plane, Morgan looked out the window. It'll be a long time before she will return to this place. Morgan decided to leave for Europe. As she was still a minor, she will be needing the cover of her Cadogan grandparents who lived in Europe.

She couldn't find it in her heart to forgive her brother, her ex boyfriend and her bestfriend. Mason broke up with her through text. He texted her after she left the hospital room that fateful day that they were over. That she was a bitch for breaking his trust and wasting his love for her. Brienne just died and Mason was callous enough to break up with her over an unverified information and through text no less.

She also couldn't believe that Alex chose to listen to Celestine's lies and sided with Mason. Yes, Alex and Mason are best of friends, but she was his younger sister. He knew her character and know that there's no way she would have cheated on Mason. He was supposed to protect her. Yet he readily accepted someone else's lies and didn't even ask her to explain.

And Liam, how he did not comfort her when Brienne died. They were the three musketeers. She needed her other bestfriend then but Liam didn't bother with her. She knows that Liam was silently blaming her for Brienne's death although he didn't voice it. But couldn't he ask her first if she really did cheated before accusing her of anything?

She didn't just lost Brienne that day. She also lost Alex, Mason and Liam all in a single day. It was just too painful she needed to stay away and start anew. they will soon discover the truth. And by that time, she will be long gone. She's too hurt to forgive them now. She can't say so in the future. But she really doesn't care anymore. They can suffer the consequences of their action. She doesn't need to explain herself to anyone.
