1 Chapter 1

As soon as the school bell rings I dash out the door, not waiting for Mr. Kim to call me out, lord knows I'm not in the mood for it today. Besides my attempts of obviously avoiding him, he shouts my name causing me to halt my feet and sigh annoyed that he's stopping me for no reason. Again.

"Don't give me attitude, Mr. Lee, I spoke to your dad on the phone yesterday and I informed him that you're currently failing your classes-"

"I am a full grown adult, in college, why would you call my parents?" I glare at him, not missing Mr. Kim look away guiltily, clearly intimidated as I have a habit of making myself bigger when mad or upset, I've been told I got a mean annoyed face but I couldn't care less. Don't fuck with me, and we won't have a problem.

"Y-yes, I know that but I'm also very close friends with your dad, and I try to keep in contact with all of my students' parents in case of emergency." Mr. Kim softens his face, showing a small smile at me and I immediately tense, why the hell is he smiling? Is this a trap? Will I die today? Mr. Kim usually just looks at me in disappointment or disgust, maybe because I egged his car one halloween, or that time I stuck a "Fuck Me Daddy" on his back and he spent the whole day being hit on.

"Look, Saehyung, I understand that you've got a lot of pressure of being the oldest of all your sisters, that's 5 women including your mom in your house... But Saehyung-ah," Oh no, he never calls me Saehyung-ah unless he's getting ready to lecture me. "You have to know that your sisters and family are not your main concern because they're okay. They are doing fine right now and I need you to focus on your studies. Your dad told me to tell you to visit home when you have time so you two can talk."

Mr. Kim dismisses me afterwards and I sigh heavily as I walk outside into the hot weather. Damnit, it's just not my day. As I slowly make my way to my apartment, I stop and get some takeout from my favorite KBBQ place, Byul's Sexy Barbecue, by Byul Lee. A weird guy in his twenties that constantly makes a move on me. It's annoying, but hey, he gives me free food and discounts, so I'd gladly let him have his fun while I rob him of all the money he could make off me.

More money, less of a chance of being kicked out on my ass.

I sighed as I make my way to the counter, seeing Byul talking to a customer. A woman in her forties trying too hard to be thirty again, what with all that liposuction.

"C'mon, Oppa, you know you want me." She purrs at the man behind the counter, who in response curls his lip. "Fuck off, Mina, you're like 300 years older than me. You can't call me Oppa, go away please." I snort, causing them both to look at me, Byul quickly turns on his flirty smile and sashays towards me. The woman, Mina, looks appalled and confused, obviously thinking that her "Oppa" was straight.

But sadly, no. Poor thing.

I almost feel sympathy for her. Almost. "Hey, cutie, the usual today?" Byul appears before me and leans across the counter, beard tickling my nose. I wiggle my nose and step back, face neutral before I regard him with an unimpressed glare.

"Yes, the usual." Is all I reply, he pouts like a child, a complete turn-off by the way, and stalks to the kitchen door. As I see him leave I grab a seat at a table near the door and pull out my phone, playing a Trivia Crack game.

The bell above the door rings, signalling someone entering but I don't bother looking up, not interested in socializing with the pitiful human race. Me included. "Oh, Saehung-ssi, is that you?" I look up as an unfamiliar voice callz my name. The boy has dark brown eyes, light brown hair and an intriguing smile. I have no idea who this man is.

"...Yes? That's me, but who are you?" My suspicion rises when the boy steps forward, smile innocent and weirdly hypnotizing me with his eyes. "I'm Kim Taehyung, from your Advanced Literature class, with Mr. Jiu."

I look at him closely, his earrings, so many of them, taking note of the man-purse he's carrying. My eyes observe him with a scrutiny and he just smiles wider, eyes disappearing.

Finally, after a few minutes, I answer honestly.

"Nope, doesn't ring a bell." Just then, Byul comes out with my food. I hurry towards him, paying no mind to the curious boy who slowly comes up to the counter. Following me with a piercing gaze.

I nod in acknowledgement, giving the desired amount of money, discounted of course, and hightail it out of there. The man never chases me and I grab an eggroll from my takeout bag and eat it on the way home humming a small tune as I walk with slow steps. I almost put my earbuds in but something in my chest tightens at the thought, and I don't know why.

But as I walk closer to an opening of an alley, the pain gets worse and I force myself to a stop. My feet have a mind of their own as they trek down the alley, ears picking up small whimper. My senses go into overdrive and I feel my legs speed up a few paces. I stop as the whimpers get louder.

"H-hello, is anyone there?" I call out, my voice shivering from the nerves racing through me. Every single cell tells me to turn tail and run, but my mind and heart make me stand my ground, never wavering in their attempt to get me to approach the person or thing making that noise.

"Help, pl-" I barely hear it because my heart thuds heavily in my ears, but when I do, I don't hesitate to follow the whisper of a plea.

"I-I'm coming, don't worry." I look around the ground, hoping to see where the person is, a boy by the sound of it, but I could be wrong. It was so fragile, so gentle and full of pain.

My eyes land on a small moving piece of cardboard. I quickly move the trash away and come face to face with a boy, I say boy since he looks so small. Baby cheeks and slim body, naked but I know this isn't the time to mention it. "What happened to you, Sir?" I ask, my heart aching as he starts crying, begging me to just take him home. To his home. But I don't know where he lives.

I soften immediately as I pull his lithe body in my arms, not surprised at how light he is considering his size. I decide then and there, I'll just take him to my place, we'll talk and I'll tale him home after feeling him and then he'll be gone from my life forever. Good, I'm not exactly a people person.

As I walk down the sidewalk, the sky getting darker and people looking at me like I'm crazy as I carry the naked man, only my hoodie on him, around.

I quickly run into my apartment building and hurry to catch the elevator. A man looks at me, scrutiny apparent and I give him a bored look. Jack ass. As soon as the doors open, I sprint to my place. The last door on the hall, which any other time I was thankful for, but right now I wish I was right next to the elevator.

Struggling to get my key out of my pants pocket, I quickly set the unconscious boy on the floor and get my key, unlocking the door. I pick him up and race inside, setting him on the couch as I hurry to wrap him up. He's freezing cold, being naked for a few hours outside will do that to you, I guess.

He hums, slowly coming to. I shush him, petting his hair and getting up to get him a glass of water.

"... Mmm." I hear him groan and shift, I turn and look at him from the kitchen, he's sitting up. "Hey," He jumps, dazed eyes catching mine and my breath hitches. His eyes are so beautiful, brown and bright, though the mistrust and pain is evident in his black pupils.

"I picked you up in an alley, almost unconscious... I-I swear, I didn't know what to do, so I brought you here and-"

"Please be quiet. It's alright, and I appreciate it. But I would like to leave." He cuts me off, much to my ignorance.

I feel a bit discouraged and he must see it, because he tentatively comes closer, not realizing he's only got my big hoodie on. "I'm sorry, I'm coming off as rude. I really do appreciate you helping me... And I guess I do owe you an explanation." He smiles shyly, his gaze dropping from mine.

"No, no, yo-you don't owe me anything. Just please, eat and get something to drink first. I'll even let you borrow my clothes, but let me take you home. I don't want what happened to you to happen again." I surprise myself with begging, wanting him to stay longer. Needing to get to know him, he's so intriguing.

"B-but, you don't even know me and I don't know you..." He trails off, excuses tumbling off his tongue.

"My name is Lee Saehyung, 22 years old. What's your name?" I ask, stepping closer, a few feet between us. I give him the water, he takes it, much to my appreciation.

"I'm Park Jimin, 24 years old." He whispers, finally looking up to meet my eyes.

"There, now we know each other, hyung. So please stay."

His smiles widens, beautiful and bright. "Sure, Saehyungie."

And my normally cold heart warms a bit with that.
