8 Chapter 8: Dexter Billboard

"The old guy mentioned something regarding royal blood?" Atlas strolled towards the wall where five needles were stacking over one another.

Hugh sat cross legged, going through his memories. "Apparently my family had something called royal blood. I have no idea what it is."

"Damn. Threw it too hard." Atlas murmured, pinching out the needles, "Okay. Into the K pouch you go."

Glancing from the scattered weapons to the office doors, Atlas gasped. "Aren't we forgetting about someone?"

"Piece of Rent! How could I forget?" Hugh smashed the ground, rushing towards the office. He has been too overwhelmed by his new ability. The door smashed open, but the room was vacant, pieces of paper floating down.

"No! No! No!" Trashing the furnitures, Hugh unleashed his anger.

"He escaped through this secret elevator." Atlas pounded the metallic object beside the table. "Don't worry. We'll get him next time. He can't hide forever. I've got my own sources."

Hugh calmed down, leaving the room disappointed. His reddened biceps and grey eyes returned to normal.

Atlas caught up. "Look at the bright side. You have successfully begun the journey to avenge your family. And with the ability you have unlocked, you are capable of defeating people as powerful as Orangutan, a Tier 5 elite. Speaking of which, why don't you check the Dexter Billboard?"

"Good idea. I've never actually went to check the Dexter Billboard." Opening a new webpage on his phone, Hugh typed in the website.

'Dexter Billboard'. Golden laced words in beautiful calligraphy font displayed on the home screen. A simple, plain chart appeared, numbers jumping on the bottom left corner, indicating the amount of viewers currently. 35290... 36012... The numbers constantly altered, increasing and decreasing. A feeling of shock shook Hugh. He was not aware that there were so many Warriors out there. Other than Warriors, it is unlikely for commoners to discover this site. These spectators were only a small portion of the actual Warrior count out there. It was spectacular just to think about all those people who possess Warrior capabilities.

How did the Warriors first originate? No one really knows. The government covered up news about Warriors, preventing commoners to acknowledge the existence of Warriors. The power that Warriors possess is too complicated for mortals to process and could lead to global panic. There are professional law enforcers to restore peace and balance to the country, whereas they fight off misfits who side evil to fulfil their own desires unscrupulously. This lead to the isolation of many Warrior heritage.

Ancient scripts and scrolls recorded the ways of Warrior practice. Conquerors like Qin Shi Huang of the Qin dynasty were also mighty Warriors. Despite the increasing difficulties to rank up nowadays, the Warrior spirit still flickered dominantly. After all, who doesn't want to become a legend?

Hugh slid his finger up the screen. The ranking is arranged from the lowest placing to highest. He saw 'No. 187'.

The information suddenly blurred, fading away. "Zzz." His phone vibrated.

Rhino

Real name: unknown

Rank: Aura User. Tier 4 Elite.

Kill record: Orangutan(187)

Age:18

The page rebooted.

"18?! You're 18? But you have a bigger build than the rock." Atlas exclaimed, exaggerating his expression, "Puberty hit you like a meteor!"

"Same goes to you man." Hugh chuckled, "You told me you're 17 right? Little Brother."

Atlas put up his hands, impersonating Donald Trump. "Let's stop criticising each other. We'll be getting nowhere. We are both strong men who are over 16. Full stop."

Hugh slapped his thigh to suppress his laughter. His phone vibrated once again. The phone jumped to 'No. 23'.

"It renewed. Who's this? Blade?" They looked at his stats. Everything was listed as unknown, except for his age and kill record.

Age:13

Kill record: Qun Ze(175)-one move, Nion Mill(121)-one move, Wen Hao(79)-one move, Carlton Kree (23)-one move.

"Carlton Kree. I know that name. He was pretty famous 4 years ago." Atlas whispered. Curious about what rank Blade could be, they checked No.24. Hugh scrubbed his head, "Tier 8 Elite. How is it even possible to finish a Tier 8 Elite like Carlton in one shot at such a young age? There are so many geniuses out there. My vision was too narrow."

"Duh? Earth Aura? Potential overload!" Hugh smiled humbly at Atlas's complement.

"Look. The TOP ten are in gold unlike the others. It would be a dream come true to be placed TOP 10. Number 9, Frank... Number 4, Kai Lee... Number 2, Petal... and lastly, number 1..." Hugh said, " The person who tops the Dexter Billboard is, 'Sync'."
