115 Bone Field

"GWAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

The view shocked Trevon. He saw a large skeleton. It was a three-meter-tall lizard skull.

[Gulp…] The young master Inadvertently walked back. The skull looked alive in the dimly lit area.

"Clatter… Clatter… Clatter…"

Trevon heard a strange sound under his feet. He pointed the shining pearl toward his feet.

[This is…] Trevon picked one of the white pebbles under his feet.

[It isn't a pebble] He thought. The young master used his spiritual energy to press it.

"Crack…"

"GAH! BONE!!! This is bone. Don't tell me!" He pointed the shining pearl on his hand.

"Bone! Bone! Bone!" He looked around. Every time he moved, he could hear the clattering sound of those bones collided with each other from his steps. Everything around him was a sea of white bones.

"WAAAAA!!!" Trevon shouted again.

It took some time for the young master to regain his cool. Although he was shocked, he was a cultivator. He had seen a scarier thing during the Redwood Beast Waves.

[They are only dead bones.] Trevon gathered his courage and looked around. The sea of bones came in various sizes. He could see some very large bones as tall as five meters and also small bones as large as a marble.

"Why are there so many bones?" He wondered.

"This is the dungeon stage theme." Master Rabbink told Trevon.

"Swish…" He could feel a cold air traveling around. It brought the incense smelt brought the place one notch creeper.

Trevon took his escape talisman from the dungeon. He looked at it.

[I can't give up.] He remembered his encounter with the bandits. [I have to become stronger. This is the inheritance for me.] Trevon squeezed the talisman and threw it back to his storage ring.

"Where should I go?" He looked around. Luckily, the dungeon master made the rule to wear three robes. It made him feel warm even when the cold air blew toward him.

"You should start by finding the monolith." Master Rabbink floated around Trevon.

Trevon couldn't image that he would appear in a strange part of an inheritance dungeon.

[Hm… Which direction?] Trevon used his shining pearl to show direction.

[Everywhere is the same.] Trevon just picked a random direction and started walking. Each time he stepped, he could hear clattering sound. That was bone against bone. He couldn't imagine how many creatures needed to make this sea of bones.

[Is this a battlefield?] He thought. He continued to walk searching for the monolith.

While he hadn't found any danger in the place, Trevon felt spooked. The dark location was a good place for a ghost to appear.

Unlike common people, cultivators actually didn't afraid of ghost. They could use spiritual energy to attack the soul. Most ghosts were too weak before cultivators. Nevertheless, they would still give a shock to the cultivators.

Trevon walked toward a direction while the cracking sound followed him. After a certain period, he had to do the stupid things the dungeon master had put in the rules.

Trevon felt angry with the dungeon master counter attack. However, that was the rules. He had to follow them.

[Is this the area for an ambush? They wouldn't suddenly appear and attack me, right?] He asked the Rabbink.

"You should always be careful during a dungeon. However, you should be able to protect yourself in this dungeon."

Trevon knew based on the book about the dungeon that he had read in the library. The dungeon difficulty could be seen from its floors. A dungeon with many floors was hard. It might defend a powerful inheritance.

Also, the longer a dungeon opened its door, the harder it would become. Trevon knew it was because the dungeon master had money to build the dungeon more. It was the same for the rules. The longer a dungeon master watched the adventurers, the harder the rules. A dungeon master could learn and make more rules to limit the shortcut an adventure could use.

[I don't know whether the forest can be considered the first floor. The maze is the second floor. Then this is the third floor.] Trevon continued to walk.

The Rabbink was humming while following Trevon. "Hu. Hu. Hu… Hu…"

"GAH! Why do you hum creepy tunes?" Trevon complained.

The Rabbink's hum and the clattering sound made the situation creeper.

"This suit the situation." Master Rabbink defended its song selection. "This is this Rabbink's mouth. I could hum whatever I want."

"Try to sing a cheerful tone!" Trevon didn't want the creepy ones.

"I haven't downloaded the cheerful tones. You have to pay one hundred kowtows for a cheerful tone. Gwahahaha."

"Hmph… Just sing whatever you want." Trevon didn't want to kowtow to the Rabbink. He had made the promise.

"Eh? What is that?" Trevon saw a blue light glow. He ran toward the source.

[A monolith!] Trevon smiled. He ran toward the monolith faster. However, he only found a short introduction to the test.

[Ragam Phoenix Inheritance Test.]

[For those who want my inheritance! Prove your bravery! This test will be based on your current power.]

[Perhaps I have to pay first.] Trevon took a pouch. He could feel it was turned less heavy.

"Trevon McArthur can test." The loud voice of the dungeon master could be heard.

Trevon waited, but nothing appeared.

"Is that it?" Trevon couldn't believe the test description was very short. "Hey! The description is incom…"

"GROOOOAAAA!!!"

Trevon heard a roar from far away.

[A boss?] He couldn't see anything. He tried to use spiritual sense, but his spiritual sense couldn't detect anything in that direction.

[Wait!] His spiritual sense felt something below him moving.

"Crak… Crak… Crak…" Trevon pointed his shining pearl to see something under his foot.

"No! No! No! It can't be a ghost, right?!" Trevon screamed. Some small bones under his feet moved somewhere. They rolled and moved toward the roar direction.

Trevon moved the shining ball toward the direction those bones rolled.

"GROAAAAAAAA!!!! Another roar came. This time it was louder.

He also started to hear louder clattering sound. It seemed something moved toward his direction.

Trevon knew he couldn't avoid it. He took his light armors and wore them quickly.

[Ugh!] He pulled the string to bind the armguard to his left hand.

"GROAAAAAAAA!!!! Another roar came.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" Trevon saw a big giant made of bones. The giant was ten-meter-tall, with a stomach as big as a small hill. Two large feet and arms showed the power contained inside.

He quickly scouted his opponent.

[Name: Unamed]

[Age: 121.254 Years]

[Sex: Male]

[Species: Bone Golem]

[Potential: 25/25]

[Determination: 51]

[Cultivation Speed: 66]

[Loyalty: 99]

[Decision Making: 5]

[Talent: Fighting - Hand, Sleeping]

[Ability: Bone Regeneration]

[Affiliation: Eberk Rockminer Inheritance Dungeon]

The giant raised his right arm before made a hammering movement towards Trevon.

[Wind Piercing Dash!] Trevon used his favorite movement martial art.

"AW! Aw! Aw!" The area isn't good for dashing. His feet smashed into small bones. Some were sharp. The floor wasn't flat with the bones everywhere.

"BRAK…" Trevon could hear the loud noise from the hammering of two solid things.

The giant didn't stop, it raised its arm again preparing a punch movement.

[Sh*t!] Trevon quickly ran outside the punch direction. "Can't I have a ghost instead?" He wanted to cry. It was hard to fight a large opponent.

He tried to escape to his universe, but he couldn't.

[GAH! I should make a portal before.] Trevon cursed himself. Nana also was inside his universes. However, he didn't think Nana could handle a big rock giant. Size also mattered.

Trevon rolled to dodge an attack. The sharp bones scratched his back. [Is there any exit, Rabbink?]

"Yes. It is only a test."

[A test?] Trevon wanted to cry. A test could kill him. [This dungeon is dangerous.]

"This test is based on your current ability. You should be able to pass it. Remember what this test is about!"

"Where is the monolith?!!" Trevon shouted. He wanted to check the monolith again. However, it was nowhere near him.

[The monolith disappeared?] He thought while erratically running around.

"Ding!" A shining thing appeared far away from his position.

[That way!] Trevon believed that was the monolith.

"BRAAAAKKK!!!" Trevon felt some sharp bones hitting his body. The giant punched the pile of bones near Trevon. While the giant didn't manage to hit Trevon. Trevon was hit by the broken bones.

[Ugh!] While it didn't damage him, the scratches were very painful. He could feel his layered robes started to tear.

"GROAAA!!"

Trevon saw the giant prepared another hammering with his other hand.

[There is not enough time.] Trevon didn't think he could evade the hammering.

[GAH!!!!] Trevon did the unthinkable for him. He jumped toward the giant hand which had just punched the pile of bones. The young master ran and climbed the arm.

"BRAKK!!"

"HAHAHA! Enjoy that!" Trevon fell from the giant. The giant was big and powerful but stupid. It only aimed at him.

Trevon managed to make the giant hammered his own hand. The result was deadly for the giant. The Bone Giant lost one of his arms because of hammering itself. However, Trevon also fell to the floor since the arm was his footing.

"Aw!!" Trevon fell into sharp bones again.

"Crak… Crak… Crak…"

[Gah! He can recover.] Trevon heard the noises. He saw small bones around him rolled towards the bone giant. Those small bones regenerated a new arm of the giant.

[I don't like this place. I have to go to the monolith.] Trevon used his fastest speed towards the Monolith.

"You have to bark now." Master Rabbink reminded Trevon.

"Woof! Woof!" Trevon was forced to follow the rules.

"Hey! This is a boss fight. I can't focus on the rule." He shouted toward the dungeon master.

"…"

"You can stay silent, but you hav… AH! Sh*t!" He detected a movement using his spiritual sense.

"BRAK!!!" Trevon had managed to roll forward before receiving an impact. The giant made another right-hand smash toward him.

"Aw!" However, the smash also sent many sharp small bones towards Trevon. His body felt the pain from the scratches.

Trevon couldn't recover himself. He had to move quickly since the Giant made a swipe using his right arm.

"GAAAAHHH!!!" Trevon could dodge this. The swipe threw many small bones toward him. At the same time, the swipe hit Trevon.

"Urgh…" Trevon was thrown back around ten meters until he hit a large bone. He could feel the sweet blood on his mouth.

"Uhuk…" He couldn't prevent himself from coughing the blood.

[Recovery Pills.] Trevon took the pills while he ran from his fallen position. He couldn't stay at one place for long, the giant had moved toward him.

[How could I survive this?] Trevon thought. The monolith was too far. He had to fight this giant. [I can only gamble.]

Trevon decided to face the danger. He couldn't run. Then he could only go forwards.

He threw the shining pearl toward the giant to show the direction.

The young master took his Dark Demon Slayer sword from his storage ring. He grabbed the sword with both hands and run towards the Giant.

['1.000 Holy Flashes'] He used his favorite technique. The dark area turned bright with the shining flashes. Trevon could see the larger image of the room. Mountains of bones. It was like the sands in the beach.

Meanwhile, his holy element attack made the giant screamed.

"GROAAAA!!!"

[This works.] Trevon thought. He used the chance to get closer to the giant and ran towards its foot.

[Roaring Eagle Sword Combination 1st Level!]

He used his sword technique and made a slash with Dark Demon Slayer.

"Clink…"

His physical attacks failed. The giant had a very hard body. He couldn't damage it with his sword.

[Weakness Scan!] He aimed at the giant's foot. However, the giant followed by the kick of that foot. It made the scan failed. Trevon couldn't focus on the foot while he had to roll around to evade.

[I have to use my Light element attack! That is that thing's weakness.] Trevon felt lucky that he had practiced '1.000 Holy Flashes'."

Trevon made a big backward jump since '1.000 Holy Flashes' needed some distance to be effective. The giant just made a punch toward Trevon position. It smashed its own foot.

"Hahahaha." Trevon saw the Giant lost his balance with a broken foot. He used the chance to gather his spiritual energy again.

"1.000 Holy Flashes!" Trevon used his skill again. After he cast his skill, he quickly moved towards another direction. He took several pills to recover his physical injuries, his internal injuries, and his spiritual energy.

The giant hadn't stopped his attack. While it roared because of pain, the small Trevon still didn't give it enough damage.

However, Trevon felt confident since he could injure the giant. He managed his distance and harassed the giant with his holy flashes.

The young master wouldn't dare to compete in a short-range fight. The bone giant kept attacking while Trevon dodged and returned with '1.000 Holy Flashes'.

Hundreds of holy flashed beamed toward the bone giant. The big giant suited the ability well. It was easy for Trevon to point his finger and let the less accurate flashes to hit the large giant.

"GROAAAA!!!" Every time Trevon attacked, the giant screamed in pain.

However, every time the giant punched or kicked he would send a huge wave of small and sharp bones to Trevon. The giant event learned to counter with a swipe. That swipe would hurt Trevon.

Trevon saw his flashes didn't actually deal damage to the giant.

[Gah! This couldn't go on. I have to reach the monolith!] Trevon sent another set of holy elemental flashes. He took a necklace with a shining pearl and wore it. While it couldn't show his way, he could see everything near him.

While Trevon was fighting, Master Rabbink thought how it could have some passersby to comment. Yet it was hard without anybody around. The closest person was Ainsley, but he was still participating in his own test.

"Hm…" The Rabbink thought while eating some chicken wings. It finally decided to make its own bone passersby.

Master Rabbink raised its small right hand and chanted.

"I create Bone Passersby! Krauk… Krauk…" The Rabbink couldn't stop eating.

"Did you see the young master?" A handsome male bone passerby appeared. He was a stoic and bulky human.

"Yes. He is the number one young master in Redwood and Bluestar." A female human passerby appeared and answered.

"I still don't think he could win against the Bone Giant! He had become the guardian of this place for over one hundred and twenty thousand years. Bone Giant had never been defeated." A bone passerby made in the form of a fat merchant said. Master Rabbink even made the bone robes for the three bone passersby it made.

"You must haven't heard this. My femur's owner's descendant lived in Redwood. His neighbor said that this young master is the highest ranked young master during the last demon beast waves in Redwood City! You should never underestimate him!" The female bone passerby said with confidence.

"I still believe in the Bone Giant." The handsome bone passersby didn't like to support another handsome creature.

"Ah! He is so charming. Look at his martial art! Very beautiful!" The female bone passersby cheered for Trevon.

"I will bet a bone with you that Bone Giant will win. A direct hit punch of Bone Giant will kill the young master." The fat merchant bone passersby said.

"Yes. I agree with you." The handsome bone passersby took a thumb bone from the floor and gave it to the fat merchant bone passerby.

"Hmph… You don't know the charming heroes. Look! He braced himself against the sea of bone crumbs.

While those bones passersby talked with each other, Trevon was fighting for his life. He faced a big swipe of the giant arm. The swipe made another huge bone crumb tidal for Trevon.

[Blue Aura Barrier!] Trevon was forced to use one of his many martial arts. He raised his left arm towards the incoming bone tidal. This defensive martial art would create a blue light barrier in front of Trevon. It was made from combining ice and water elements in the air.

"Prak… Prak… Prak…" Trevon felt his spiritual energy was drained. He felt a bit tired, but he had to protect himself.

Trevon stabbed his sword below and took some pills from his storage ring. He ate some spiritual energy recover pills before he counter-attacked.

['1.000 Holy Flashes'!] He spoke in his heart. Hundreds of holy elemental energy balls appeared around Trevon.

"Attack!" He shouted to cheer himself.

"GROAAAA!!!" The giant experienced the attack and screamed in pain. Trevon ended his barrier after the tidal disappear. He lost thirty percent of his spiritual energy from using the barrier. This ability was still at the lowest level and not efficient.

Trevon used this chance to run. He took his sword and ran toward the monolith, behind him the giant chased him.

"He couldn't win." The fat merchant bone passersby said. He shook his head.

"Yes. Running away from the Giant. He won't pass this test." The handsome bone passerby smirked.

"…" Even the female bone passersby couldn't defend Trevon with this strategy.

Trevon was chased by the bone giant. One step of the giant would require many steps of small Trevon.

[This is crazy.] Trevon could only hear the cracking sound of bones stepped by him and the big noise made by the bone giant.

[Why is it still far?] Trevon couldn't believe it. He had run so long, but he couldn't reach the monolith.

"Groa!!!" The giant managed to gift Trevon a punch.

"AAAAAAAAAAA!!!" Trevon was thrown by the punch. He felt his body wanted to explode. [I have to survive!]

"Brak… Brak… Brak…" He felt so much pain from the friction between his body and the bone field. The sharp bones made numerous scratches on his head, body, arms, and legs. Everywhere was painful.

[I still haven't met my fiancée. I still haven't defeated the debt collector and that annoying branch member!] Trevon tried to summon his aura again. However, his young master aura was still weak.

[This can't do.] He stood and watched the bone giant. The giant was running toward him.

Trevon also looked at the monolith. It was still a long way from him.

[Sigh… I can't run away.] Trevon raised his Dark Demon Slayer again.

[I will defeat you!] He grabbed his sword with both hands and positioned it next to his head on the left side. His right side faced the giant. He pointed the sword tip towards the incoming giant. [Weakness Scan!]

"GROOOAAA!!!" The giant managed to get close to the stationary Trevon. It stopped its charge and sent a punch toward Trevon.

"BAAAAAK!!!" A blasting voice was heard.

Trevon was punched and thrown again.

"Blah!" Trevon was forced to taste his own blood again.

"Again! Weakness Scan!" He took some pills to recover himself. Still, using the same stance, he fought the bone giant again.

The giant ran towards Trevon again. Every its step made a huge cracking noise. Trevon increased his concentration.

"GAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!" He was thrown again. [Sh*t! Is this the best, I could?] Trevon couldn't imagine he couldn't pass the easy inheritance dungeon.]

"I am the number one YOUNG MASTER!!!" Trevon didn't have time to drink his pills. He raised his sword again toward the same stance.

"BRAAAAKKK!!!" The giant threw another punch.

"Agh!" Trevon managed to dodge, but he lost his balance. [This is the chance!] He looked toward the largest red glow on the giant body. It was on the top of the giant head.

He forced himself to jump from the unstable position. With difficulty, the young master managed to jump toward the towering giant arm. Using it as his base, he soared higher above the giant. [Roaring Eagle Sword Combination! Second Level!]

Trevon had only seen the manual. His father had shown him this technique. This was the gamble from Trevon.

"EXPLODE!!!" Trevon poured his spiritual energy toward the Dark Demon Slayer. The sword glowed and turned hotter.

Trevon was jumped toward the giant while he sent both his hand toward the bone giant. He aimed for the largest red glow on the giant's head.

"BOOOOOM!!!" Another explosion appeared.

"AAAAA!!! What is that?!!!" the female bone passersby shouted.

"An artifact's effect!" The far merchant bone passerby commented. Since they were a golem controlled by Master Rabbink, they would know that simple thing.

"Did the young master win?" The bone passersby couldn't see because of the blinding light from the explosion.

"The Bone Giant survived!" The handsome bone passersby shouted. A towering bone giant still stood with his punch.

"Did the Bone Giant punch the young master? Where is the young master?" The female bone passerby looked around.

"Over there!" The fat merchant pointed.

Trevon was lying above a small bone hill. His arms bleeding with blood.

"Groaaa!!!" The bone giant raised his feet.

"GROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAA!!!" However, his feet were crumbling. The giant fell into the bone floor.

"BRAAAAK!!!" The bones cracking sound filled the silent space. The bone giant turned into small bone crumbs again.

"The young master wins!" The female bone passerby said before turning into small bone crumbs again.

"He is." The other two bone passersby said before they also turned into small bones again.

Master Rabbink was no longer needed the bone passersby. Trevon had won. He defeated the bone giant.
