Chapter 13 :The Swarm Might

One day later

Kane:So what did you found?

Alexander:Who is our enemy.Niara and his marines .

Kane:I lied if I would say that I'm shocked.You know that many people like to speak behind our back and I can't speak like you,which for many means that I'm a pet ,not your partner.

Alexander:Yeah,it's ok for me,I don't do racism so you are normal .

Kane:Now,now,let's move to more important maters.What should we do now?

Alexander:For the first time in marine's history,I ,Alexander creator of the swarm will march my army to destroy the marines led by Niara.

West Blue,Marine Base

Marine:Captain Niara,we need you outside.

Niara:WHAT?GET OUT.

Seeing that his Captain is a coward ,the marine clenched his fist and walked out of the room.

Outside,marines were trying to kill the monsters that attacked their base,but even as the strongest marines in the four seas,they didn't stand a chance against this enemy.

Earlier

Lieutenant Maximulus and his men were on the front of their base ,waiting for the next attack, With a sudden popping sound, twenty marines at the back of the formation were cut apart by zerglings and they screamed as they became a pool of blood and meat.

Maximulus immediately turned around. Then another pop, and another fifteen men were bathed in their own blood. The Lieutenant's eyes flashed in anger.

"To arms! Enemy is here! Battle formation!" said Maximulus

The marines were panicked but Maximulus's voice was loud enough to jolt them back into action. They quickly spread out, with each man at arm's length from another. Only the Warrant officers on foot were still clustered together, but not because they were slow. When Maximulus shouted his order, something popped in the air right above them.

Numerous tiny things shot from a squad of special zerglings rained down on the marines, and suddenly purple and green fungus grew on them, with the roots digging into the flesh. The marines screamed as they tried get them off but for the few seconds the impossibly fast-growing fungus ate their way into the arms and heads of the marines. Some marines had the fungus grow in their eyes, and the fungus had chewed its way into the brain killing them.

Before the marines could respond, a creature appeared out of the ground.It was a large creature, as big as a small giant. They instantly recognized the danger, but their reaction was too slow for the creature that rushed itself toward the marines. One of the warrant officer blocked its path with his sword and another struck the creature with his sword, but it was to no avail.

The creature was too fast and too strong, and the marine who blocked its path was thrown aside, and when the creature was in the middle of the marines, it start spiting acid. The green acid showered most of the remaining marines. Some of them died instantly as their flesh instantly dissolved.

With a single spit of acid, 20 marines died. The men panicked, and as men often do, they ran in a similar direction, unwittingly clustering together. Maximulus tried to stop them,but two spits later, the men returned, their number now 50 men fewer. Such attacks were unheard of, and Maximulus did not know what was going on.He fought monsters in the past ,but nothing like these hoard.

Another attack and 25 gunners died as they aimed for the zerglings. Another attack killed 18 marines. Two more spits were applied to the men, and they died, leaving a sum of 43 men dead in those few seconds. Maximulus could only watch in shock and horror as his men were slaughtered.

Then something new happened. From five different points in the ground, zerglings The zerglings landed on the ground and they rushed at the marines. Maximulus instantly recognized the danger.

"Men, attack those monsters! Now!"

The men immediately took to it, and they stabbed and cut the zerglings and shot bullets at it. Twelve of the zerglings died and screamed as they collapsed. Inside were corpses of what looked similar to a very large human. However, they were too slow and too late in attacking the pods.

The ground burst open and large creatures appeared. Almost two meters in height, they had large claws,guns like arms with two tentacle-like things in the back with equally terrifying claws. On their right arm, they had strange tube that beat with heartbeat. Their body was covered in thick carapace and their marginally face with tentacles squirming around them.

The creatures raised their arms and fired. With hissing noise, sharp ammunitions struck the humans. Maximulus stopped several of the attacks with his sword. He looked at the ammunition of the enemy. They were bones. As thick and as long as an adult male's forefinger, the bones are as sharp as a bradawl and dripping with acid. A dozen men had quickly fallen to this attack.

Maximulus was not about let an enemy to kill his army when he could finally see them. He charged at one, blocking the bones with his sword and thrusting his sword. The sword was sharp and it cut right through the throat of the creature. Unfortunately, the Infested 'Marine' didn't really use throat. It gurgled for a moment, then it grabbed Maximulus's arm with its left hand. Then fired its bio-rifle into Maximulus's chest.

As Maximulus fell to the ground, the world around him seemed to slow down. The acid was poison to humans, and he felt burning pain all around his chest. Each breath was so painful. As he fell, he saw more cracks opening and his men slaughtered. More creatures came up from the ground and killed Maximulus's men who banded together to fight against the Infested Marines.

Then Maximulus saw no more.

One minute later,all marines were killed and more and more of them were converted into infested marines.

In his office Niara heard screams and right now he was feeling fear as the noises outside of the base died ,he was sure that he was in deep shit right now and as a coward,he took his stashed berries and choose to run,but as he exited the secret exit,five zerglings were waiting for him.

When Niara saw the zerglings,his body froze.

Immediately after the zerglings saw Niara,they rushed at him killing him in the process.
