29 CHAPTER 29

The next day, Shen Tian woke up early and prepared breakfast for his guests. One part of him is doing it for hospitality but another part is to get the quest out of the way as soon as possible. Starting early means that they can get the quest done early as well, which consequently can lead to the successful establishment of a stable water supply for the safe zone. That's one thing off his mind then.

As soon as breakfast was ready, Shen Tian knocked on the door of the guest rooms and invited Shao Haoran, Li Qingshan, and Mo Jun to eat.

"Eat up a lot, everyone!", Shen Tian cheerily invited the three men. "We have a lot of things that we need to do today and you'll need to be full."

"Do we continue from yesterday?", Mo Jun asked in between spoonfuls of rice.

"Yes, there's just a little bit more before we can reach our goals."

"All right!"

Right after breakfast, the four men proceeded to work on transporting sand, pebbles, and soil. Since there were only a little bit of soil needed to be transported, it didn't take long before Li Qingshan completed it on his own. He went to help the three men on transporting the rest of the materials.

Shen Tian can't help but grin ear to ear upon seeing this message. He was ecstatic!

Upon seeing that it will take a while for the two buildings to be constructed, Shen Tian immediately hit on YES.

A blue glow surrounded the area that they were in and blueprint-like 3D diorama hologram appeared in front of his eyes. He looked back at the three men who were still transporting the materials, but it looked like the hologram was invisible to them.

He then looked at the system panel and saw that the two buildings are listed with a countdown timer right next to their names.

"Let's pack up, guys!" Shen Tian clapped his hand to get the dirt off and called out to the other three. "We've transported enough materials now. We can go and rest!"

Mo Jun wiped the sweat off his face. He then turned to Shen Tian and asked, "Is this all we have to do? Are we not going to be build some facilities or something? I was expecting to do construction work too, not just transporting materials."

"Nah, no need to worry about building the actual facility itself." Shen Tian replied. "My powers can handle that. All we need is provide the materials and the building should be ready tomorrow."

It was Li Qingshan's turn to be amazed at Shen Tian's words.

"I really can't fathom what your superpower is like, Shen Tian." Li Qingshan said as he helped put the shovels on top of the wheelbarrow. "It's the first time we ever encountered your power. I wonder how the base higher ups will classify your power among the known power types."

"Yeah, I thought at first that his power is a barrier-type." Shao Haoran also chimed in. "If it was, then he'd be classified under support type."

Li Qingshan nodded. This is indeed beyond the definition of a support type superpower.

"Maybe it's necessary to create a new power type classification that better describes his superpower. What do you call your powers by the way?"

Shen Tian thought for a while before deciding to just call it as simple as it can be.

"Well, it's safe zone. That's what it is."

"Just safe zone?"

"Yeah, like how your soil manipulation clearly defines what your superpower is, I think the term 'safe zone' is the best term to use to define mine."

"So, basically, you're saying that your superpower is to create a safe zone?", Li Qingshan said while in deep thought.

"Yes."

"Is it okay if I ask a few more questions?", Li Qingshan asked just in case it'll make Shen Tian uncomfortable if he pried further into his superpowers. "I'm really curious about your superpowers."

"Well, that's a first." Shen Tian chuckled and joked. "Shao Haoran didn't ask much when he first came here. It almost made me think that my superpower is common."

Li Qingshan and Mo Jun both laughed upon hearing that.

"Shao Haoran is the type to keep to his own so even if he's curious, he won't pry."

"I prefer to not get into anyone's business unnecessarily.", Shao Haoran defended himself.

"Right~", Shen Tian teased. He then turned to Li Qingshan. "Go ahead and ask. But just a disclaimer, I won't answer any questions that I don't want to answer."

"That's fair enough! So, what does your power entail exactly?"

"Exactly the creation of a safe zone. You got an area that's impenetrable to zombies, a source of food supply, and now I have a source of drinking water." Shen Tian happily explained. "I'm working on establishing other buildings and resources needed for survival, though."

"Shao Haoran said that you'll be working on other projects." Li Qingshan mentioned. "Does that mean that you'll still be working on establishing other buildings or resources?"

"That's right. Survival doesn't only require food and water, after all."

"What other projects do you have lined up?"

"My projects are not set in stone yet.", Shen Tian explained vaguely. "I work on them as opportunity comes."

"As opportunity comes?", Mo Jun parroted with a confused expression on his face. He looked at Shen Tian, waiting for further explanation.

Shen Tian just shrugged at the man, without any intentions of explaining further. He just can't say that he's following the prompts of a system, after all.

Li Qingshen and Shao Haoran took the hint and didn't ask any further regarding that matter.

"Will you be building additional houses?" Li Qingshan continued asking while scratching his head. "Tents aren't necessarily a suitable living environment for children. I have a son and I'd like to give him a warm bed to sleep in at night."

"That's already in my agenda." Shen Tian gave Li Qingshan a thumbs up. "It shouldn't be long before we can have a new residential area in the safe zone. I'm just a bit uncertain as to what the residential area looks like, but it should be livable."

"That's great! I can't wait to bring my wife and son here."

"My team will also be happy to stay here!" Mo Jun added. "I hope that the residential area that you're talking about would be big enough for us. We're a party of seven, after all. We can still make do with tents for the time being since we're all rough men, though."

Mo Jun laughed out loud just imagining his friends sleeping like sardines in tents. Since he already rented a bed, then he definitely won't want to stay in the tent with them!

"If you need our help, don't hesitate to let us know, though." Shao Haoran offered. "We plan to stay here in your safe zone for as long as we can. Of course, that's if you allow us to."

"Absolutely! You guys are welcome here." Shen Tian beamed. "As long as you're not hostile to me, and, well, just generally hostile, then you're definitely welcome to stay here for as long as you can."

The three men smiled at his words.

"Of course, don't forget to pay your crystal cores." Shen Tian gestured money with his fingers.
