Sleeping Together

The bathroom door clicked open and Lucifer came out wearing the bathrobe Daphne had given him.

Daphne immediately jumped up from the chair, clearing her throat as her eyes moved around the room, not wanting to look at him, for the bathrobe was tied quite loosely, and part of his chest was clearly visible.

In addition to all of that, his hair was still dripping wet as he ran a towel through it. Even if Daphne wasn't interested in devils, at the moment, it was practically impossible to keep a calm heart.

Lucifer looked at her and then turned around, opening the bottom drawer of the cabinet and pulling out what appeared to be a black shirt, "Go take a shower."

Daphne did not really like his demanding tone but she had not taken a comfortable shower in a long time so she grabbed the clothes from him and quickly disappeared into the restroom.

The heat from the previous shower was still in the room when she entered, and she looked around the large space the size of her previous bedroom. Mostly everything was made of black marble, including the walls, floor, sink, and shower place.

Daphne placed the clothes onto the sink area, looking at her reflection through the foggy mirror. Her blonde hair fell down behind her back, slightly tangled after running around for so long.

She sighed and removed the dress from the Brothel she was still wearing, folding it neatly and placing it onto the counter top as well.

Even after eating dinner, she still looked frail and dainty, which came in handy when pretending to be a fairy. The water was still warm when she turned it on and stepped in, letting the warmth engulf her as she felt her tense muscles finally relax.

It had been so long since she was last able to take a warm shower and feel so comfortable. It made her not want to leave this place. . .

She took a very long shower, and only stepped out when she heard some noises coming from the bedroom. She quickly changed into the shirt he had given her, which was probably one of his for it reached her knees when she wore it.

Her hair was dripping wet but there was no hair dryer so she could only wrap it up in a towel she found nearby. Then, she slowly pushed the door open and stepped out of the bathroom, her eyes landing on the devil who was sitting on the bed with his long legs crossed over each other.

She stepped out with bare feet, making little noise, but he quickly noticed her and opened his eyes, smiling when he saw her in the outfit he had chosen for her.

"You look nice in my clothes," he commented softly as he sat up straight, his smile widening.

Daphne did not respond. Why did those words sound so. . . dirty when he said it? Did devils just have a way to make everything they say or do seem impure?

She looked around, unsure of where she would sleep. Perhaps on the ground?

Almost as if he could read her mind, she heard the devil say, "You will be sleeping with me today. . . on the bed."

And, Daphne's mind immediately strayed away towards a dirty thought. Was it the devil, or perhaps, was she the one that was impure?

"Sleeping. . . with you?" Daphne asked, wondering what type of sleeping he was talking about. However, Lucifer did not bother to respond as he grabbed the towel on the bed and rubbed it against his hair again.

Then, he tossed it onto the ground and got off the bed, lifting the blanket up before sitting down again. When he was inside the blanket, he looked at her, raising one eyebrow, "Are you not tired?"

Daphne quickly moved over to the bed, saying, "Yes. Yes, I am very tired."

Maybe they would just be sleeping. . . She crawled into the blanket and laid down with the towel still around her hair because it was still wet.

Lucifer stared at her for a few seconds, and she did not know what he was thinking about, but a few seconds later, he snapped his fingers together and the room immediately turned dark.

Daphne's fingers clenched onto the silk blanket tightly, her eyes wide open as they struggled to adjust to the darkness. After a while, she still could not fall asleep at all, knowing that there was a man on the same bed as her.

Besides her father, she had never shared a bed with another man. And even with her dad, he would read her bedtime stories from his book of fantasy stories so she would fall asleep quickly.

She did not know for how long she laid there, unable to fall asleep, but the devil seemed to fall asleep quickly. She could hear his soft but steady breathing as he suddenly turned around on the bed, and the next moment, Daphne felt a heavy weight land on her waist.

She gasped as she looked down, noticing his hand around her waist in the darkness. His grip was strong and she did not know how close they were to each other, but she could feel his breathing against the back of her neck, making the hairs there stand up.

There was no way she could fall asleep in this position, and she tried to get his hand off, but it almost felt as if the more she tried, the tighter his grip was.

After a long time, his arm was so tight around her waist that she felt like he was going to break her bones.

"Lucifer. . ." She called, feeling it was hard to breathe. She called louder when she heard no response, "Lucifer. Lucifer!"

She turned her head around and at once, she saw his red eyes burst open, and in the darkness, they almost gave her a heart attack.

He glared at her, his narrow eyes filled with anger, probably from getting woken up while sleeping. Looking at him like this, Daphne gulped, immediately regretting waking him up.

"I. . . Your arm. . ." She whimpered nervously, his expression very scary at the moment.

His eyes slowly traveled down to his arm and Daphne did not know if she was mistaken, but she felt him tighten his grip more for a second before he let go of her waist.

Then, he suddenly smiled and said, "You should have told me, baby girl. Here, sleep now."

Daphne shivered at the "baby girl" and she could not go to sleep at all as she moved away from him slightly. She had to find a way to get out of here.

Even if this devil had been decent in the day, it was evident that he was not to be messed with. Devils were dangerous creatures. . . and she could not stay here for long.

She tried to keep her breathing soft as she thought about how and when she could leave. But she had nowhere to go -

Suddenly, her thoughts were disturbed when he asked, "Why aren't you sleeping?"

Daphne did not respond, holding her breath as she wondered how he knew.

"You're scared," Lucifer opened his eyes again, staring at the back of her head.

Daphne still did not say anything, but her heartbeat was running like a panicked deer by now.

There was a soft chuckle as she heard his voice speak softly, almost as if he was coaxing a baby, "Are you naively thinking about trying to leave?"

Her heart skipped a beat.

"Daphne, you need to understand that you are mine now. Running away is never the solution." Lucifer spoke calmly with his eyes closed, but it was exactly this that made Daphne terrified.

Finally, she spoke, her voice hoarse, "I'm not thinking about running away."

Her words were sucked into the silence as she waited, but he did not respond.

She was still scared, but in the silence that followed the conversation, she felt her eyelids get heavy as she soon fell asleep, tired of everything that had happened to her.
