Kidnapped

Daphne did not have the strength or ability to resist as the two men suddenly were up to her, grabbing onto her two arms forcefully. Her eyes widened in shock from the sudden attack, and her first reaction was to look back at Maryanne, who had fallen back into the corner of the room, trembling as she looked at the men and Daphne.

Her hands were shaking as they covered her mouth, and it was obvious that she did not plan to come up and help Daphne.

"Let go of me!" Daphne screamed, flinging her arms with as much strength as she could, but they did not budge at all. Were these people devils?! They must be to be so strong! She was forcibly dragged out of the tiny cabin, her bare feet sliding against the sand, which luckily wasn't very rough and didn't hurt her feet.

She had learned some basic self defense a few years ago, but none of that came to any use right now since not only was she sore, but the two men were also too strong and fast for her to even react. When they pulled her out of the cabin, she finally got a look at where she was.

To her surprise, the place did not resemble hell like she had imagined, but she seemed to be at the edge of a forest, with an endless grove of trees to her left. To her right, there was the lake that Maryanne must have found her in, and to her front there was a large brown carriage, where she was being led.

When she looked back, she saw that Maryanne had shut the door and also closed the curtains of the window, so she could not see where she was or anything inside the small cabin anymore. Her eyes dimmed as she realized that she was alone now in this crazy place, and she looked at the two men on either side of her.

"Sir, why don't we have a nice, calm chat haha. . ." Her voice died down when one of the men looked down at her frustratingly, his eyes glaring holes into her which made her lips tremble in fear.

"There must be a misund -"

"Shut up!" The man growled as she felt the weight holding onto one of her arms disappear as the man to her left let go of her and walked up to the carriage, opening up the back door. Then, before she could attempt to teach the man a lesson for rudely telling her to shut up, she was tossed into the carriage.

Then, the man shut the door, clicking a lock into place as she found herself in a confined, dim "trunk" of a carriage. She pushed herself up from the hard floor, holding onto her left arm in pain, as it had aggressively hit the floor of the trunk when she was thrown in.

Her lips twisted up in pain as she groaned angrily, not realizing that she was surrounded with people who were all looking at her disgustingly. She finally realized that she was in the presence of others when the carriage suddenly started moving with a start, which caused her to fall back, her head hitting the leg of a person. . . or a creature to be exact.

She whipped her head back in surprise and her mouth fell open in shock when she saw nine other people - People wouldn't exactly be an accurate word. Nine other girls who were seated on the two benches in the carriage, all of them staring at her with judgemental glares.

She looked at them one by one, realizing that all nine of them seemed to be around her age or younger, and they all had breathtakingly beautiful faces. It didn't take much for her to guess that they were probably fairies or mermaids. Several of them had gills similar to those of Maryanne's, and the few who didn't had unique features, notably green or blue eyes.

"Sorry," she mumbled to the mermaid she had hit, who twisted her lips together in disgust, folding her arms together.

The carriage moved quickly, and Daphne could not stay seated on the ground, so she quickly pushed herself up with the help of no one and sat down in the tiny empty area on the edge of the bench. The nine other girls finally stopped looking at her as if she was some monster and several of them started humming or doing their hair in a very pleasant mood.

Daphne could hear her heart beating in her ears as she pushed at the carriage door to find that it wouldn't open no matter how hard she pushed, not to her surprise. She had just woken up and now she was in a creepy unknown situation again?! What in the world was happening?

She finally mustered up the courage to ask the mermaid sitting next to her, which was also the one she had bumped into, "Excuse me, miss, but do you know where we are going? Why did those people take - kidnap us?"

The mermaid didn't even bother to turn her head around and only glanced at her, running her long nails through her chestnut brown hair, "Are you dumb or stupid?"

Daphne scrunched her face up in both confusion and offense, not expecting such a reply, "Excuse me, wh -"

"You signed up for this, and looking at you. . ." The mermaid scanned her face and clicked her tongue several times, wrinkling her nose in disgust, "You are very lucky to get picked."

"Picked? Picked for what?"

The mermaid was obviously getting annoyed as she lazily replied, "It's obvious that you are stupid, so I will very generously be patient with dimwitted people like you. The Brothel -"

"The Brothel?!" Daphne's pupils dilated in the dim lighting as she prayed that the brothel here would not mean the same as what a brothel was in the world she lived in.

"Yes, The Brothel. Don't tell me you don't even know what The Brothel is?!" The mermaid raised her voice, which caught the attention of the other girls in the carriage, who looked at them with distaste.

The mermaid looked around self-consciously and lowered her voice as she explained, "It's the place where higher grade men go for pleasure and entertainment. Girls like me. . . mostly fairies and mermaids can apply, and it is hard to get chosen so I don't know how in the world you got picked but anyway, we will get a chance to meet the upper-class vampires and if we are lucky, maybe even a devil! Oh my!"

She clasped her hands together in excitement as she began furiously running her fingers through her long hair again. It was obvious that the women here all shared the same dream of getting to meet the vampires or devils. Who would even want to meet a vampire or devil, Daphne thought. These people were crazy.

However, her problems now have just gone from bad to even worse! It was bad enough that she was stuck in this crazy hellish place, but now she had somehow gotten herself to be sent to the Brothel?! She did not even apply!

There must be a mistake, there has to be a mistake! She couldn't go there and be stuck in the Brothel for the rest of her life - if she was even still alive - serving other men, or to be exact, dangerous creatures.

The mermaid turned her head away from her, humming an unfamiliar tune as she brushed through every strand of her hair with her fingers, refusing to acknowledge Daphne again.

The bumpy carriage ride seemed like an eternity to Daphne as she thought through many things, rubbing her sweaty palms together as her legs shook rhythmically to the pace of the carriage. This definitely seemed too real to be a dream, so that possibility seemed to be crossed out.

Daphne obviously did not believe in mythical creatures, so she decided to go with the coma possibility. Yes, she must be in a coma in which she could not escape from.

Daphne tightly pressed her lips together, biting her lower lip with her upper so hard that it started bleeding. It seemed like forever until the carriage finally came to a stop. The 10 of them sat in silence for several seconds until there was suddenly a click and the door was pulled open.
