1 Fidelitas

Silence. Darkness. A lonely, old man can be heard, walking through a pitch-black tunnel. His footsteps echo across the walls. Every step feels like eternity, as if he had a heavy burden to shoulder. His silky silvery hair is Long and unkempt, as if he didn't really are About his appearance.

"I don´t have much time left, i presume. I took the longest, most ardous path of this World to meet it´s ruler, trying to avenge the death of my loved ones, but it cost me nearly everything. I still have my magic of the six paths, countless tools in my dimensional bag, my knowdledge of the past 250 years of living and almost that much battle expierence, but my gut tells me that I won´t surive to live a another day."

As the hours fly by the old man tries to keep his composure when he finally saw light again. The tunnel finished and a gigantic Room comes into sight in front of him. Countless riches, from gold coins, to enchanted Items, to Grimoires, everything could be seen here. We don´t have to talk about not having to worry your entire live anymore, but even a whole town would be rich if you brought them all of this.

In the middle of the mountain of riches was a gigantic throne, spanning about 20 meters wide and 40 meters tall. A stone figure sat on top of the throne with facial features straight out of a legend. A strong broad jawline, masculine nose, and fierce eyes. No one would dare to say that this man-stone face was not hot.

The old man stood in front of the stone man, not even batting an eyelid in front of so many treasures.

"Fidelitas. I came to collect the blood dept that you incurred. I know you are responsible for the Natural disaster that killed almost everyone i knew and loved. I don´t care about your reasoning behind that. I took my time these past 100 years and build up my strength. I learned and inveted numerous spells just for this moment. I dare say that I am the strongest human on earth, Zale!"

After he uttered his name the stone giant named Fidelitas opened his eyes and looked curiously into Zale´s eyes.

"So you did come to my lair, Zale." Fidelitas chuckled which sounded stony and rugged as if two stones were grinding a top of each other.

"I heard your Oath a hundred years ago, but I didn´t think that you would stick to it. Humas are so fragile and with your short lifespan i figured you wouldn´t even find me. Well, you did better than expected. What do you want to do now? Kill me? I am a god. One of the twelve gods ruling this plane. You can´t even do as much as scratch me."

Rage filled Zales green eyes. He couldn´t believe that he can´t even scratch Fidelitas with all the power on his hands. He took out his Grimoire that contains all his spells. He long since prepared the one spell that would break this giant.

Fire. Transform. Ball. Compress. Strengthen. Multiply. Shapen. Momentum...

Countless of words floated through his mind when he cast his spell with over a hundred different words almost instantaniously. Each word amplified the power of his flame spell. This is what he worked for all this time. Expanding his mana circle and aquiring new words in the forsaken language to cast one spell, stronger than everything else. He reckoned that he could wipe out a whole country with a spell this strong.

Meanwhile the stone giant was merely looking with slight interest at the small fire sphere.

"Zale, nothing in this plane can hurt me, but i commend you for trying that hard. I have never seen a human with this much power before. Come! Show me your resolve."

Zales spell was ready and he blasted it right in Fidelitas face. Good thing that you own spells can't hurt you because this enormous explosion would have killed Zale as well.

An ear-deafening explosion could be heard when the small rotating sphere hit Fidelitas right in between his eyes. The World was engulfed in flames, hot enough to melt even the strongest of metals. Yet, nothing in this cave seemed to be destroyed.

After Zale could see again he saw the stone man sitting there as if nothing had happened. He not just survived an explosion of this magnitude but even came out unscathed.

Everything was quiet again. Zale didn´t know what to do. One hundred years of preparation for nothing. Nothing in this plane could hurt a god. Fidelitas was right. Zale was on the verge of a mental breakdown, sinking to his knees. His live long goal failed and he was an old man now.

A burst of rugged laughter could be heard echoing through the cave

"Zale, I like you! You actually had the guts attacking a God! What kind of human are you? No one since I took this throne came even near me. I commend you for that, and I'll give you a chance. This is going to be a lot of fun"

Zale looked up into the stony eyes. He felt regretful, hatred, empty, ashamed. The strongest Human, not even able to scratch his sworn enemy, Fidelitas, God of Disaster.

"What chance could you present me with, Fidelitas, that could make me even remotely happy, or even accept it? The Vulcano that you erupted in the middle of the fucking city killed everyone I loved and cared for. That´s why I took this Vendetta on me. Every fiber of my Soul hates you."

Fidelitas smiled kindly to this old man. In Human terms he might be stone old, but for an immortal god he was still just a baby. That´s why he wanted to help him. He was not evil. But as a God of Disaster he had to fulfill his quota.

"Zale. I´ll transfer your conciousness into a new body. I will seal your memories and your powers. And i´ll even throw in a little extra. I give you a second chance to live. You will unlock your memories bit by bit, and if you still want revenge on a God by then break free of the Shackles of Mortals and come get me. Your passion and drive are something rarely seen. Live well, Zale. I expect to see a lot of amusement from you."

When the last word was spoken the stone giant for the first time since Zale was him moved his hand and his vision started to go first blurry, then black. Nothing could be seen, heard or felt anymore and he fell into what felt like a deep slumber.
