27 A wedding is not a Marriage (3)

"Whatever decision that he may not approve off it doesn't mean he doesn't love you" Ncane added. I didn't quite notice that she too has joined the conversation.

J.R was enjoying himself with Trevor; they were both happy to have finally tied the knot. Mercy was socialising with other family friends. I wondered if she too was getting more lectures as much as I was getting from all directions.

I had hope that J.R and I would see things the same way, after all we have been united and we are now one. That's what the scriptures says on Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5 and Ephesians 5:31 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'. I am now in communion with J.R so is he to me. I am glad that the Lord Almighty is the third person in our marriage and centre of our relationship and also in everything that will we do we put God first.

After having more teachings I decided to go to my home girl and best friend Mercy, just to check if she too had also have these lecturing like I did. Please don't get me wrong it's not like matrimonial teachings are bad in all that, they are actually not they are just too much, of course I have been told what is really required of me as a wife to her husband and a newlywed bride it's not easy taking it all now, because it kind off seems as if they are trying to scare me off! The life challenges that you come across in a marriage life are some sort of different to the ones they have encountered along the way. Perhaps Mercy's teachings were different I had to check, how they have coached her, Life is somehow sort of like a football game or a match, each teams have their coaches the two teams might have the same formation 4-4-2's or 5-3-2 the coaches might tell their defenders and strikers to attack, but on how the players might attack it might not be what the coach wanted. Its not how or what the coach wants you to attack but it's all about how you play the ball and in the end you have to win or might have tried your best.

"Congrats to you Mrs Radebe…" said Mercy bringing her glass of wine close to mine.

"Oh Mrs Hlatshwayo, congratulations to you too my friend…" I said. "Like seriously now my friend we are both the brides for this wedding and we are busy saying congrats, congrats to each other…" I said wiggling my head to the side.

"My friend, my congratulations are for that, you are now happily married to the man who worships the ground you walk on…" she expresses.

"Girl, why do you talk as if Trevor doesn't do that with you?" I probed.

"He does my friend… if it wasn't for J.R's love for you, Trevor wouldn't have found courage within himself to love me the way he does now" she said.

"Girl are you sure about that?... cause the way things happened, you guys were the ones who started dating before us… how can it be that J.R somehow motivated Trevor to love you the way he does?" I got concerned. What Mercy was saying flooded questions in my mind? It kind of made sense, but somehow not. "My friend I know, trust me I know, from the bottom of my heart I know it" she said.

"Well in my case, if it wasn't for your man Trevor, I assume we both wouldn't be in love like this and married too… we should give him all the credit" we both giggled.

"Ncoooh, look both our men girl" she said. "They are best of best friends…" she eyed at both Trevor and J.R.

"And so are we" I said and we hugged. Both of us had tiny drops of tears coming out from our eyes.

"Girl you are crying?" I inquired, I lifted her chin. She refused to gaze into my eyes. For a moment I thought that the alcohol has started kicking in.

"No girl" she said "it's just that the make-up got into my eyes" she dried the tears out.

"You are being emotional my friend" I pulled a chair close for her to sit on.

"Girl it's just that, ever since I met those two guys, my life has changed because of them… I was wondering earlier when sitting on the mirror just before the wedding, that where would I be, if you, Trevor and Joseph never had not walked into my life… you and I were best friends but I couldn't see the light. Even so you, you would go to church and later share the scriptures with me but, nothing happened. Then you started your 'Art'…" we both giggled "I now do believe that the Lord sets the time for everything, Trevor walked into my life and introduced me to the wonderful Lord Jesus, and my life changed, look at me now? I am a wife all because of you." She was so emotional. She said all of this looking into my eyes.

"My friend, that was a lovely speech, but then you are ruining the make up with the tears" I said.

"So are you my friend" she said "Look our husbands are worried" she pointed at both Trevor and J.R.
