27 Choice

"He wants to rule over every royal family." said Ellie.

Ena was confused, "Why would he want that?"

"The kings of the Quintus family has been ruling over the city, but they were never able to rule over the people. Due to their obsession, they finally released their true self, and have been wanted to start taking control over the people and all of the royal families."

"They named this plan, "Project Apex". By corrupting Alden's son with obsession of becoming king and ruling over everyone. It'll try him to become the strongest and no one would be able to stop him. Why are they doing this? I still don't know their reason, perhaps they're tired of their history being repeated over and over again with no changes."

"If this somehow happens, Your father would basically rule the world and thus, the world's corruption will begin. Everyone's freedom will nobe stripped away and it will belong to the Quintus and Valor family. By now, I could guess almost 50% of the citizens have already been influenced. Once they're all under his influence, there will be no more crimes, no more trouble, it would become peaceful. That's his way of protecting people, even if it's wrong." said Ellie.

Ena's mind was still trying to process the information she was given. Basically, her father was the one who ruined everything they had because of the tradition in the Quintus family. All sons had to be kings, it was definitely strange.

'Not everything you believe is everything.'

Those words on the book entered her mind once again.

She didn't feel anything when Ellie told her everything, that was wrong. It was that she didn't know what to feel, her entire life, she thought everything would be fine, and this family was a good one. But suddenly, her family had one of the darkest histories and still does. It's just almost nobody knew that.

"So? What will you do?" asked Ellie.

"What do you mean?" asked Ena.

"After telling you everything, tell me what will you do. Who do you think are the good people and the evil people?" asked Ellie.

In her past life, there was good people, there was also people who were worse than scums. But that was what humans were, there was no one that was fully good, no one that was fully evil.

There was always a balance between them.

"I don't think anyone is good or bad. However, their actions are wrong so naturally I'm going to be against them. But that also depends on your actions, are you doing things that are helping people, or are you hurting people?" asked Ena.

"Of course, we're trying to help people. We don't want citizens to have their freedom taken away just because of an obsession." said Ellie.

"Then you already have my answer, as long as you never hurt someone innocent with your plans, I'll help you. Though, there is also something else I need to know." said Ena.

"What is it?" asked Ellie.

"What about my mother?" asked Ena.

"Sadly, she's already been influenced by your father's magic, we can't help her unless we cut off the magic." replied Ellie.

"And how do we do that?"

"We kill the source of the magic, which is basically your father, your brother, and maybe other people from the royal families."

"I see...is there any way to save my brother...?"

"By this time...no. It's impossible, eighty percent of his mind should already be corrupted, all of his consciousness is already taken over." said Ellie.

Ena's heart trembled, the relationship between her and Alex was close. Alex probably thought of her as a sibling than Alice since Alice wouldn't talk to him that much as they grew up. Luckily Ena was there to bring the two close so they wouldn't drift apart, but now. It was truly as if they were torn apart.

Although she didn't want to kill her father or brother, it was a must. Ena never called herself a hero or anything, and she still won't. She'll remain the same and choose the choice she believes is right or wrong.

Whatever happens, happens.

"What of my sister?" asked Ena.

"Your sister's fine, they're still trying to look for you, but like I said. This place was basically sealed off from the outside world, there's no leaving unless we allow you to." said Ellie.

"Since I've already agreed to work with you, can you take these chains and electric wires off of me? It's getting uncomfortable." said Ena.

"Oops, Edward do it." said Ellie.

With a snap of his finger, several roots appeared from the ground and removed the chains and electric writes. Once it was fully off, she stood off and stretched herself.

Several bones cracked, but the feeling was nice. Her ankles, wrists, and hips all had red marks on it.

"You know, you didn't have to do all that right?" asked Ena.

"I know, but the sight of you being tied up in my chair was truly pleasing." said Ellie with a smile.

Ena felt a shiver down her spine, "Pervert, I'm only eight." said Ena.

"Growing still, I'll wait till you're fully ripe for me to eat." grinned Ellie.

"Ellie, your weird side is showing again..." muttered Edward.

Ena immediately moved back into a corner, she wanted to stay away from her as much as possible. The thought of Ellie just trying to get close to her eight year old self brought cold sweat down her neck. She couldn't believe someone like this was in this world, actually...she could since this world was probably corrupted in the beginning.

While Edward and Ellie was talking, she started to check on her meridians. She can feel that the meridians opened up and chi was already pumping through her body healing her from any fatigues or mental injuries she had. Ena didn't want her external wounds to heal since they would definitely find out.

"Are we going to start yet?" asked Ena.

Ellie looked over at Ena, "We will, but before that." She narrowed her eyes at Ena, "What's that coming out of your fingers?" asked Ellie.

"Hmm?"

Ena was confused until she looked over at her palms, small forms of chi was projecting out of her fingers. She might've done this unconsciously since she needed to pump the energy throughout her body so she could recover faster.

Ellie and Edward was already looking at Ena with expectant eyes.

"Haha....nothing." Ena said as she looked away.

It was already too late when the 2 figures were already beside her with arms crossed.

'Damn it...'
