1 Wen Mei Xiang

Mount Makiling stood within the Azure Province Mountain Range, and at its base was a small town thriving with life. The townspeople within that place lived off the blessings of the land and they didn't have much to do with the outside world.

Within the vast forest stood a young woman carrying an axe. She looked thin and weak, but if one looked closely. One could find that she had a fairly healthy complexion. Her slender frame perfectly complemented her countenance. Though one couldn't say that she's an unparalleled beauty, she had a distinct charm in her that attracted the gazes of...

Uncles and Aunties...

Her name was Wen Mei Xiang, the townspeople called her as the fierce and unyielding little sister of the Town of Makiling. She had no family, and according to her grandmother that fostered her, she had found her floating across a nearby river. The grandmother hesitated on telling her at first, but when Mei Xiang heard of the truth. She merely smiled and cuffed her grandmother's cheeks, while saying.

"Grandma, no matter what. I will always be your family. Even if we're not blood-related at all. I don't care! Though I don't know the story behind why my biological parents left me, all I know is that they mercilessly hurled a baby on a river. If that wasn't cruel, then I don't know what's cruel in this world anymore..."

Despite what she said, Wen Mei Xiang knew where he truly came from. And it was a world that's vastly different from this world. If her memory serves her right, she came from a technologically advanced world where one could communicate with each other using a device that had the same size as a person's palm.

As for the reason why she crossed over at this world. A piercing headache would assault her head if she thought about it; it was as if someone was deliberately sealing her memories. This finding endlessly puzzled Mei Xiang. But since there's nothing that she could do. She just placed that matter at the back of her mind.

Carrying an axe, all she knew was that in this world. Dangers lurked everywhere and if her concentration lagged. She could die in any moment. Take for example the forest that she was in, she spent most of her childhood foraging for food and she was incredibly familiar about the dangers that lurked within this place.

"I know that you're there, Little Bunny~ Come out, I will grant you a swift and painless death..." She spoke in an affectionate voice, but the phrase that she said could send shivers down the spine of anyone who heard it. Holding her axe in a defensive stance, she swept her gaze across her surroundings.

Not any movement occurred right in front of her. But her instincts told her that her prey was nearby. And her instincts was something that she trusted the most apart from her grandmother.

Rustle~

"There!" Wen Mei Xiang exploded with a speed that exceeded her limits. In that instant, she arrived beside the source of that movement and sliced downwards with her axe.

Bang!

The ground beneath her cracked as if it was carrying an immense weight. The hilt of the axe that she held cracked from the force, as blood burst outwards and struck her clothes. Her green robe that had apparently been washed so many times that its color nearly faded was drenched by the crimson hue of blood.

Retracting her axe that embedded on the ground. It promptly crumbled into dust as a wry smile appeared on Mei Xiang's face. Ever since she gained proper consciousness, she realized that she possessed strength far stronger than an average person.

When she was still five years old, she could carry a fifty kilogram stone on her own, and when she was ten years old. She could carry a two hundred kilogram stone like it was feathers. Right now, the fifteen years old Mei Xiang had enough strength that she could easily break a cow's neck with a single punch.

Unfortunately for her, blessings and curses were in tandem. After the townspeople found that she possessed Divine Strength. They had distanced their children from her, afraid that she may injure or kill her.

Mei Xiang knew that everyone's reaction to her Divine Strength was normal, but because of this. Apart from her grandmother, Mei Xiang had no one that she could truly consider as her friend.

Despite what happened these past several years. Mei Xiang still looked as jubilant and as upbeat as ever. At the least, even though she had such a monstrous strength. Her figure remained and looked as delicate as a young maiden.

"I'm sorry, Little Bunny... Me and Grandma have to eat, so I can only sacrifice your life. Don't worry, I wont let your sacrifice be in vain. I will create an absolutely delicious rabbit head soup!" Mei Xiang held her hands parallel to each other and bowed towards the bunny before carrying it on her shoulders.

The blood that continuously dripped from the bunny's neck never seemed to bother her as that same upbeat smile mixed with anticipation remained on her face. She was thinking about her grandmother's reaction when she tasted her delicious dish.

"I bet grandma will be proud!"

She thought as she walked in wide strides towards the Town of Makiling. When she appeared at the Town's Gate. Those who saw her stiffened for a moment as their eyes widened in shock.

This Wen Mei Xiang never really acted as a proper maiden. Look at her carrying a bloodied bunny on her shoulders! The children who saw the gory scene all retched and almost collapsed right there and now.

The parents of those children glared at her direction. But in the end, they never said anything. After all, Wen Mei Xiang possessed Divine Strength and she could easily kill them with a slap.

"Grandma, I'm back!" Wen Mei Xiang kicked the doors open and it promptly collapsed under her strength as an "Oops", came out of her mouth. Just when she thought that her grandmother would quickly rush outside and scold her for what she had done. She was greeted by silence.

Lightly smiling, she thought of scaring her grandmother by suddenly appearing behind her so she sneaked her way towards her grandmother's bedroom. Staring inside her grandmother's room through the gaps. She found a man that she could never recognize. What's strange was the man's figure looked as faint as smoke, it was as if he was a ghost!

"Lan'er, are you not really planning on going back with me?" The man spoke in an affectionate voice.

Wen Mei Xiang's eyes widened in shock. Staring at her grandmother's back, she could see that she was currently having an intense emotional upheaval judging from her trembling shoulders. Staring at these two, Wen Mei Xiang's breathing turned ragged as she reached to a conclusion.

"Grandmother has a suitor?!" She thought in her mind.
