"Iris, about animal and monster that Solo asked today. Are those from earth animal, while the others are monster?"

"No. Animal is an animal. Monster is a monster."

"Please be more specific."

"By human standards, Animal means the normal animal like those in planet earth but those that have the shape like some creatures in tale and novel are monster. However, the definition was wrong."

"Iris could you explain the difference between animal and monster."

"Monster is an animal that lost their common nature. Any living being with strong feeling may have a chance to become monster, normally they don't but in some case, they will. They will lose themselves and lived without any need for basic instincts. The easiest way for an animal to become monster is hate."

"What's about human? If they hate someone enough, will they become a monster?"

"Probably not, human have high self-conscious and could not become monster easily…. WATCH OUT Instant movement!"

The instant movement was a skill used by circulating force to the feet, it would help a caster to move at a very high speed, most favorite skill for every knight but the recoil could harm muscle and tendon if used consecutively.

Normally Iris would not do anything that could harm the host automatically but in case of some surprise attack that could take the host life, iris could take some action by herself.

" What the!" David was confused after he landed but soon took a fighting pose after he saw a big tiger crawling itself ready to attack him. David first used one of his skill, scouter, to find out about his opponent and look for any weakness.

"Iris, is this tiger a monster? Why its stats are twice the other one we met before?"

"Yes. This is not a normal tiger, the hatred its had toward human and the feeling of losing the loved one changed the beautiful beast into madness ferocious monster."

"How sad! It must have a deep grudge because its family was killed by some bad human who hunts tiger for fun."

If Iris was a human, she would roll her eyes when she heard David's words.

"How sad? You are the one who killed this tiger's mate and sold its cubs for money." Well, Iris was not a human, since David did not ask, hence she did not have to answer.

"You may be strong but I'm stronger. Using bow in this distance may not work against you. Fine! I'll beat you with my bare hands." David exclaimed.

David did not need a long chant to consolidate his imagination, his modern knowledge was enough for him to cast for a spell that could be explained by some science.

He would gain an easy win but the only reason he did not use an explosion or another type of AOE now was a simple reason.

Greed.

A clean fur of an adult tiger would give him a huge sum. Using some kind of magic would reduce the value of his merchandise, a first embodied with force to blow inside of the body would be enough to knock this tiger if he could land at a fatal point.

Also having a huge force reserve pool, David could heal himself almost instantly with the help of Iris who would calculate for him, hence he could use multiple skill at the same time.

The speed of his movement was enhanced by instant movement, his fist was deadly and he could heal himself at the same time. Surely, David believed he could win easily, he really underestimated his opponent.

David closed the distance of himself and his enemy to avoid tiger's claw but he still could not find a chance to land an attack. After dancing around for a few minutes, the chance was open for David but his punch could not succeed in killing the tiger.

"Hey, Iris! What's wrong with this tiger? I use a power two time of normal but I can't finish it."

"Answer. A monster had an enhance in defense against force. (stupid master)"

"Is it my imagination? I feel like you reply to me in a disrespectful manner."

Losing his focus was another mistake. David was not prepared for something like this he did not equipped any protective gear, even his shirt was short sleeves.

The tiger's claw slashed at his arm, with just one hit his arms was injured to the point that the bone was visible and the tendon cut.

Normally, Iris would help him in normal circumstance but during fight, Iris was busy with other command and David was in full conscious of his movement. The delay in evading drove David into a bad situation.

"With this injury, the force need to heal will make the host force reserve pool lower than 30% Permission to use automatic fight mode? The winning rate is 100%."

"…..Fine, heal me and engage in automatic fight mode."

"Roger that." Received permission from David, Iris took full control of the body.

First, she healed the body, then cast a basic water element spell over the tiger. Last, she just cast another simple spell "lightning" in full force.

The result: Roasted tiger 1 EA received

"NOOOOO!!!!!" David screamed inside but even if he wanted to take back control, everything was too late at this point.

David took back control of his body looked at the burning tiger's corpse again sighing then walked away.

He used too many force and his body starting to feel fatigue.

"I will go home and sleep, I'm coming this deep but gain nothing, today hunting really is wasted." David murmured.

After he walked for around a kilometer almost half way to his usual hunting grounds, he sensed something tried to surround him from his back.

Is it another"hunter becomes the hunted" event?

"Not again!" David yelled.

When no other options left, run.

David ran at full speed, he was too tired to fight.

"Iris, could you finish them all if I allow you to fight?"

"Not possible, the reserve was not enough for fighting."

David did not think about being ambushed by a pack of wolves, he even tried to scare them away but the attempt was futile.

"Why they chasing me? I never harm them before?"

".....permission to speak."

"Whatever!"

"You killed alpha female of this pack and ran with its body, so you could get it fur around a week ago."

David did not care to talk back anymore if he reached his hunting ground it would be easy to get help. He still had enough force to outrun the wolves.

However, his calculation was miss by an unforeseen variable.

"Solo!!! What are you doing here!!"

How Long?

David could not remember that day much, he could run away, left his sister and Solo as bait but he didn't.

He stood and fought with Solo at his back and his sister between the two of them.

The situation was dire, his sister could only cry and Solo was not strong enough to fight against a pack of wolves. Solo was strong for ten years old boy but that's it, he would exhaust and lose, the only question was when.

Thus, David could only defend in a vain hope that help will come, He fought until help came, what happened after that he did not remember since he collapsed when he knew that help had arrived.

David did not have a chance to meet his rescuer that day, he would later meet with Woden who came to help him when they met during David life as an adventurer, both became trusted friend and Woden never betrayed David's trust.

Until that day.
