37 37] Assassins
Almost 10 minutes have passed since the fight has begun.
*Clang* *Clang*
Morgan and Samuel were engaged in a fierce fight. Both of them were holding each other back.
Morgan swifty twisted his wrist, converting his slashing stroke into a piercing one. Samuel moved his body nimbly and dodge the strike while moving forward. He then slashes towards Morgan's arm with his right blade, and also tried to stab at his waist with the left blade.
Morgan rotates on his feet and jerks his hand fiercely, allowing him to block the attack aimed at his arm and dodging the attack aimed at his waist.
As soon as he finished the rotation, 3 men of the 12 that were on standby, moved to attack him. One aimed at the back side of his neck, another at his heart and the other one at his leg. Samuel counterattacked as well, going for a front direct attack aimed at both side of his waist.
Morgan was in a precarious situation. He knew he can't dodge all of the attacks. Morgan closed his eyes took a deep breath. Then he moved to attack Samuel fiercely without caring for the attack from the 3 SS rank experts.
All this happened withing a breath time. Samuel smirked as he saw the scene. He knew Morgan was attempting his last desperate attack.
Morgan's attack reached him. And the same time attack of all three SS rank expert reached Morgan. But was happened next shocked Samuel. Morgan talking advantage of his sloppy action, bypassed his defense and landed a hit on the left side of his waist.
Though it wasn't a fatal injury as Samuel parried the attack at the last moment, causing the attack to deviate from his original trajectory.
As soon as the attack of 3 SS rank expert was about to land, all three of them felt a cold breeze of wind at the side of their neck, they turned vigilantly around to look who sneaked up on them. When they turned their head, their head detached from their body and fell on the ground.
Samuel was shocked too see a man in black appear from nowhere all of a sudden. This black man was ofcourse Kage.
Kage didn't even glance at Samuel, he turned his attention to the remaining 9 SS Rank experts. All 9 shivered feeling his cold stare on them.
"Attack him together! He no longer have the element of surprise. Kill him!!" Samuel shouted to his men. That brought his men back from their stupor.
Morgan smirked and started attacking Samuel more fiercely. The remaining 9 men launched themselves at Kage.

A volley of arrows was fired at 100 S rank experts. As they were in the middle of avoiding the arrows, a group of shadowy figures moved towards them.
As soon as those men blocked the incoming arrows, 50 men jumped out form the shadows and pierced the throats of 50 experts. They fell to the ground without knowing what killed them.
The other 50 experts who were left, quickly picked what happened and laughed themselves at those 50 figures in black. Each man in black engaged one expert, stopping their advance.
The 50 black figures were trained by Kage and Arius jointly. They were much faster and their movements were better. They quickly gained advantage against their opponents.
The archers also provided support from time to time. Thus they didn't have to be pay too much attention to their surroundings. Their fast speed and better techniques helped them injure their opponents. When someone kills their opponent, they move to help the nearest ally. Thus increasing the spead of killing with time.

Boaz has been paying attention to the whole situation. Managing the attacks and formations to get the best results.
The defensive formation at the foot of the hill was good, but the number of opponent was too much. Draen's side was also suffering casualties.
As soon as boaz saw that the enemies are trying to climb the hill and want to attack the formation from behind, he ordered the archers to rain arrows on them.
The arrows were helpful, but still, some managed to bypass the arrows. Thus Boaz sent 8 S Rank experts, the only S rank experts among the archers group, to the foot of hill.
They stood on the hill a few meters above the ground. Boaz told them to kill anyone that tries to climb the hill. He asked all 8 to be on standby on the left side of the formation. 5 of them readied their bow and aimed at the enemies without delaying. The other 3 drew their sword and were ready to chop anyone that tried to step up.
Boaz himself guarded the right side of the formation. The right side has suffered many casualties and thus the back-up troops on right side were running low.
After checking the overall situation of the battle, Boaz will rush to the bottom of the hill to kill a few enemies and then will rush back up and moniter the situation. Each time he goes down, he kills at least 50 or more men. He would rush down after every minute. With his speed it takes him few seconds to go down, kill, and get back up.
It's been around 12 minutes since the inception of this battle. With the exception of the surprise attack at the start of the fight which lead to the death of almost a 1000 enemies, the speed at which the enemies died has reduced greatly.
This is because, the enemies are now prepared for their attacks and are defending themselves quite well. Still the casualties kept polling up after each passing moment.
Till now, 3 SS rank experts, 50 S rank experts, and around 2400 A and below ranked enemies have been killed. While Daren's side also suffered some casualties. A total of around 60 men were deemed unable to battle. They are either dead or heavily wounded.
If one look form another point of view, we can say Daren's men have battled quite well. One man for every forty enemies they kill, isn't bad. On the contrary, these are excellent figures.
The battle could have been ended quickly if Boaz went to help Morgan quickly dispose off the leader. And then all three of them could have joined together to kill all the enemies.
But Arius once said to them, "Only in the face of death, one's true potential blooms". Thus they had decided to let them all fight with all they have got. Only when the situation turn dire shall we lend aid to them. This was an opportunity and they planned to take full advantage of it.
Thus Boaz was left behind to aid them, while Morgan and Kage decided to intercept those who could be a threat to their men.
Those 50 assassins were also allowed to go on the battle field due to kage's persuasion. Boaz wanted to let them stay on the hill, but Kage was firm with his decision and thus leading them to the battlefield. Boaz has to admit, their performance was good indeed.
