16 16] The Guardian Squad
Daren, Arius, Morgan, Boaz and Kage we sitting in circle, inside a room. They all have serious expression.
"We currently have 600 men with potential right?"
Boaz nodded in response.
Arius, Boaz, Kage, I want you guys to train them daily. Divide the day in 3 parts. Chose the time among yourselves. Teach them the basics of being a warrior, scout, spy and assassin."
Daren said and everyone else nodded. He continued.
" I want you guys to create 3 types of forces. First, is a group of loyal warriors. Second, is a group of assassins. And third is a group of spies. "
" Kage and Boaz, choose those from the group, who you feel have the capability to walk on the same path as yours. The remaining people need to be trained to be a group of elite warriors by you Arius. Once you guys have made the selection, I'll personally address them and reward them. Make this known to them. People must know there are privileges to be in those 3 squads. And thus they should work hard enough to gain access to those. "
" It will be done Lord." Replied Arius.
Daren nodded and then looked at Morgan and continued.
" Morgan, the 500 people who don't have enough potential but are loyal, make them guard our borders, in a group of Five. Give them a signal flare so that they can alert us in case of danger. Make sure you place them in such a way that our whole borders are covered. I'll address them before we leave to raid the 3 bases. So you make the preparations. They should be ready to leave before we do."
" Yes lord " acknowledged Morgan respectfully.
" We shall use the remaining people for the raids. Now for how to raid them... "
"Firstly for the base south of here, Morgan along with me, will lead 200 men there. We will observe and plan a strategy, when we reach there."
Morgan nodded.
"For the base, that house the people form the Holy Kingdom of Light, Boaz along with Arius will take charge. Get as much information as you can get from them. You can use any method necessary. You shouldn't allow a single one to escape, so take some men with you, even if you don't need them. "
Arius ans Boaz nodded
" And lastly for the base which has people form the stronger groups. Kage you will move alone. When you move out take her with you. "
As Daren said that, Nhi appeared in his palm.
Everyone was shocked, not because of its sudden appearance, but because they know what that little snake was.
" Doo... Doomsday.. " They all murmured.
" Yes. Take it with you. Use her wisely. Make sure you make it look like an act of poisoning. Leave no trace of fight or any other unusual presence that may lead it to us."
Kage nodded as Daren recalled Nhi back.
"Good than make preparations. We will move out in 3 days from now, at dawn."
"And Morgan gather those men and distribute their posts. Tomorrow I'll address them and then they can move to their respective posts."
Everyone nodded and left the meeting hall one by one.

Next morning at the break of dawn, few hundred people were standing on the plain fields of the wastelands, facing the only hill in that region.
Morgan was standing on the other side facing these men. Yes these are the men Daren asked to gather around.
"Good Morning everyone."
A voice traveled to everyone's ear and suddenly a figure popped out of nowhere. This figure was Daren. He has used his shadow leech ability.
Everyone bowed at his appearance.
"Do you know why you all are here, and the others aren't?"
"Do you remember what you were and what you have become?"
I'll answer all your questions today."
Daren said and then continued after a small pause.
"When we started, I told you that you are not worthy enough to know who I am. I told you to prove your worth. Guess what, Morgan here has deemed you all worthy."
Daren said with a smile. There was a little commotion among those men but it soon died down. Then Daren continued.
" Trust is the main component for a strong and long-lasting relationship. And that is what I value the most."
"If you wanna leave, this is the time. Because after this moment you will forever be bound to me. Only in death, may you depart!"
Daren paused to see if anyone has a different opinion. But no one said anything so he continued.
"If you can trust me without reasons, I can trust you as my brother. Today, I, Daren Martinos, Thrid prince of the kingdom of Astina, name you all the members of my 'Guardian squad'."
This time there was even a bigger commotion. Morgan has to interfere to make the commotion die down.
" Your squad would be headed by, General Morgan here, his words are are the same as mine for you. You have left the life of criminal. Now you are the people who will be tasked with the protection of our people and our lands. Can I trust you with task?"
"Yes Lord Daren." The people spoke in unison and knelt on one leg.
"Rise. Form now on you are tasked to protect. Protect our people! Protect our land! Protect our honour!!"
"Aye!!". A loud sound could be heard coming from the group in unison.
The sound of agreement. The sound of acknowledgement.
"You will be paid for your work ofcourse. Go and meet Morgan after this. He will give you your armours and weapon and also assign you your spots. Hope you all will not betray my trust."
Daren left after giving the speech.
That day group of 500 men dispersed at various corner of the wasteland to guard the borders.
Daren concept was simple. He want them to act as police. Maintaining order and making sure rules are followed. And keeping the people and their activities in check. But since there are no people in his area, he asked them all to guard the borders.
With that, his first official squad has been formed. 'THE GUARDIAN SQUAD'. Now for the next step. Elimination of the the 3 bases in his territory.
He has given 3 days for preparation. He have some free time. Daren decided to practice. Time is precious.
He had been trying to perfect a move for a long time now. And he got an idea in his previous breakthrough and thus wanted to merge it with is previous move, perfecting it.
Atleast this is what he had in mind. The results will show if his idea was good enough or not.
Days passed by quickly.
On the decided day, everyone that was a part of the raid, started gathering around. Daren too, equipped himself with weapons and armor and moved out. It was time...
