5 Missing Piece

Like emerald, Eve's eyes are green. Something that made her stand out from the rest but rather than adored for her eyes, she was despised, envied and avoided. The nasty rumors of her being a witch or something inhuman terrified everyone around her.

Hence, the label 'outcast'

No one dared to look at her eyes for long fearing that they would be either cursed, haunted or be drawn to her where they'll be under her control.

Eve is attractive but her eyes made her worse than a monster in everyone's eyes in terror that her pretty face is a way to cover her real identity.

It was too much at first, Eve was what everyone talks about during her middle school and high school. She was even bullied at some point but the bullying stopped when she would always stare at them intensely making them tense in fear that they're being cursed.

The outcast tried to understand but she really can't.

She didn't choose to have green eyes, she didn't want to be an outcast. Eve started despising her eyes to the point that she will never look at herself in the mirror without being afraid that she will hurt herself by trying to get rid of the eyes that made everyone fear and hate her.

Eve started hating herself.

Surprisingly, college had been different. She is still known as an outcast but she was no longer feared by everyone. The students in the university thinks that it was rather ridiculous to think that someone as weak as her could be like that when they realized nothing really happened in the past years that will make Eve different than the rest. She just have green eyes, they realized and laughed, it was funny to even think about it, it seems.

Except Eve hated it.

A simple laughable situation for most but that rumor had destroyed her life causing a seemingly like hole to grow in her chest, not visible to everyone but it is always there filling the void of what's suppose to be happiness inside her with nothing but emptiness.

A caged world of darkness without any sign of light.

She wasn't able to make friends, her father thought she's a daughter of another guy because no one in her family has nor had green eyes causing her parent's relationship to grow cold.

They became strangers in their own marriage until they decided it's best to divorce leaving Eve to her mother.

Her mother will always tell her it isn't her fault and that things just didn't worked out but she refused to believe that's the case seeing how her father always looks at her with betrayal and hurt.

She wasn't able to do something out of fear of being judged by everyone.

So what others had thought was the beginning of acceptance came isolation.

She starting distancing herself focusing on her studies in school and reading whenever she has free time.

That one star glowing among the rest had chosen to hide its glow for others to see to hide how dead it is already inside.

When other people took hint of her introversion, they left her to herself and stopped trying to approach her as a compensation of what they thought of Eve before creating a brand new label of her being the school introvert, they thought that the outcast isn't only born with a different eye but a loner as well.

Not realizing it was them who caused her to be like this in the first place. People with many time in their hands will always find time to bother the time of someone else.

Eve is no longer feared but ignored.

Students started to act like she didn't even existed.

Yet all of that started to change once she turned 16. She started having dreams of herself dying in someone's arms every night. It terrified her at first thinking that she might probably be seeing her own death but what intrigued her the most is the man in her dreams.

She can't see his face yet everything around her is crystal clear especially after seeing the same thing over and over again. The wounds in her chest, the pain She felt upon her last intake of breath, the chaos happening in the background and the way her heart beats rapidly for the man holding her tightly as if he doesn't want Eve to go.

She felt the pain the man felt that she even shed tears during the first nights she started having those dreams.

That's when he met Kristof. Her life that is similar to a white and black film had finally turned into a beautiful motion picture. Eve felt like a certain piece in her dreams had finally came true so that she could finally understand what it's supposed to mean.

The outcast felt her life changing the moment their eyes met that winter.

The night after that, the dreams became more clear than before. The face of the man holding her is still a blur but she doesn't only see the things happening before her.

Eve started to feel everything as if she's really there.

At first the outcast had only felt the pain the man felt and the pain from her last intake of breath but after she met Kristof, she started to feel the wound in her chest. She was even horrified when she woke up, touching her chest to check for any wounds because it felt so real it's so scary.

She also felt the harsh weather, the tight grip of the man and the tears from his broken sobs that had fallen down to her cheeks.

She wants to approach the man because She knows he is the missing piece in this puzzle that has slowly engulfing her life. The introvert is not even sure that it is Kristof that is in her dreams but looking at everyone, he is the closest one seeing that she suddenly felt the same connection to him like she did in her dreams when they first met.

But then again, Kristof and her are polar opposites.

The very reason why she had never approached him for two years.

The captain that is adored by everyone would never be interested nor spare a glance to the outcast of the school.

She is about to give up the idea of approaching the captain when she met Yna Clarkson, her current roommate in third year. Like her, Yna doesn't always interact with the people around school except that she is adored for her attractive looks - her big eyes and heart shaped lips melts anyone that sees it. In addition to that, she has a great voice and is known for being one of the smartest student in her year.

She still remembers how Yna had approached her after she had arranged her things in their room.

"Your eyes are really pretty. I like them."

The beginning of their friendship bloomed from that day.

Yna Clarkson is a quiet yet caring person. She says things the way she sees them without filtering any of it just to appear kind. She doesn't care if her hair is messed up or if she's using the same bag to school for two years now. Yna Clarkson doesn't always talk but she always makes sure Eve ate if ever she saw the introvert skipping lunch to work on a project alone.

Eve had momentarily forget about Kristof due to the happiness she felt of finally having her friend friend although the dreams serves as her reminder everynight.

Not until that one faithful day where Yna cleaned their room and decided to clean Eve's side of the room as well that she found out the letter that Eve is suppose to give to Kristof as a way to talk to him.

So when Yna told her "I never knew you have a thing for the basketball captain." when she went back from one of her class had made Eve feel like her heart stopped.

No one mentioned anything about it afterwards, Eve in embarrassment of being caught crushing one of the school's most popular student and Yna knowing that Eve is too embarrassed to even talk about it based from the surprised and flustered expression she got when she opened it up.

The elephant in the room however is addressed during one of their movie night bonding.

"My boyfriend is one of the members of the School's Basketball team."

Eve, confused as to why Yna suddenly brought up a topic about her having a boyfriend replies "Oh, I didn't knew you have a boyfriend."

"His name is Laurence. I want you to meet him. Please come to the gym tomorrow Eve."

And thinking that Yna just really want her to meet her boyfriend, Eve did.

Yet once Eve had entered the gym the next day, she didn't find any signs of Yna being there, not even her shadow. She also realized that nothing is actually there except for the captain himself.

She gripped on her shirt as she bit her lips, thinking between staying to wait for her friend or leaving because she doesn't want Kristof to notice her. Sure, She always watch him play but Eve always does that by hiding but if she hide now, Yna wouldn't be able to spot her. She is still caught in daze when She received a text message from her phone.

From: Yna

To: Eve

'Don't worry, I already told them that you're there for me. This way you can go to the gym whenever you like.'

Eve smiled, it's really nice to have a friend.

She met Laurence later in their dorm when he visited them with chocolates turns out it was the tan skinned guy that she saw talking to Kristof the first time she saw him in the gym.

It also turned out that Yna doesn't have a sweet tooth so the chocolates were for Eve in the first place. She smiled at the couple in front of her, Laurence is a very playful yet nice guy - she assumes from how the guy gave her chocolates because she's one of his lover's friend. She also remembers that Laurence is one of the students who has a lot of friends in school.

Now that she look at it, they're both polar opposites of one another. She smiled at the thought as a new spark of fire danced around her chest.

The chocolates tasting sweeter than how it usually is.

From that day on, she bravely took a step to see Kristof play without hiding anymore especially now that he will be graduating soon. She felt thankful to Yna as she watches the male do the thing he loved the most. The only thing left to do is approach the said male.

He's the missing piece after all.
