77 Chapter 77: Interest and Dislike.

"So, May, how about introducing me to your beautiful friend?" Asked Comet while looking at Elif's floating figure almost lustfully.

"P-Prince Elif isn't a-." Exclaimed May quickly with concern, though she was interrupted.

"I'm a man, so stop looking at me like that; it feels greatly uncomfortable." Stated Elif as he flew closer to Comet and scanned him with his divine sense, only to find nothing.

"M-My apologies, Sir. Elif." Said Comet, nearly vomiting in disgust from looking at a man like that.

"It's Prince Elif to you, and you seem uncharacteristically calm when standing before a Royal Elf." Said Elif while intensely scrutinizing him.

"Am I not supposed to be calm, Prince Elif?" Asked Comet in confusion.

"It depends. Are you from the OverRealm?" Asked Elif, though Comet had stopped paying attention when he noticed Idonea appearing out of nowhere.

"I'm Comet; It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss." Said Comet, trying to act seductively, but without his system to help him, he wasn't good at flirting, not like the system would've worked on Idonea in the first place.

I don't know if I'm just being biased, but humans are a challenging race to deal with; each one is concupiscent, angry, greedy, and just plain annoying. I would've preferred if I had arrived in a realm inhabited by any other species at this point.

"I'm not asking again; are you from the OverRealm or not?" Asked Elif, appearing between Comet and Idonea, who had completely ignored him.

"Nope. Never heard of this OverRealm you speak of. Do they have beautiful women, though?" Said Comet, to which Elif promptly ignored.

"So then tell me, how does this make any sense? Your soul is much older than your body, and not only that, it seems to be in turmoil. You have pure Immortal Qi, which is even hard to come by in the OverRealm. You're a Nascent Soul cultivator, yet it looked like it was your second time fighting during the battle you just had. While everything I said sounds normal and would arouse no suspicion, that's only if I was in the OverRealm, where things like that are ordinary; however, down in this wasteland, just one of those things would arouse someone's interest, yet for it to happen three times to a single person. Very suspicious if you ask me." Stated Elif as he floated around Comet with a gleam of curiosity, while Comet started feeling awkward and nervous.

"Now that you mention it, how you fought looked quite comical compared to your usual battles." Commented May while looking at Comet, though she didn't feel nearly as suspicious as Elif.

"W-Well, my head has always been in pain for as long as I can remember, and I guess I just have a special physique that purifies the Qi in my body, and I wasn't fighting for real against those guys; I was merely toying with them." Replied Comet, feeling nervous and slightly scared.

Floating circles around Comet, I saw how his nervousness and fear, which had accumulated, suddenly began vanishing, much to my confusion. Stopping in front of him, I saw him smiling while staring directly at me, yet at the same time, I knew he wasn't actually looking at me; he was looking at something else, yet whatever he was looking at was evading my senses as I couldn't find anything. With a slight smile of interest, I suddenly lunged forward at a speed only Idonea was capable of sensing and swiped the space right in front of Comet, causing a tear in space to appear before it quickly mended itself as I retreated to my original spot; all while doing this at speeds no one should be capable of detecting. Yet, right when I returned to my original spot, Comet suddenly backed away and got into a fighting position while a sword appeared in his hand from nothingness, much to May's anger.

"Why did you just attack me!?" Said Comet, looking at Elif fiercely as he held his sword, giving off a demeanor like an almost entirely different person.

"Shall I kill him, Your Highness?" Asked Idonea, her words filled with killing intent as she placed her hand on the sword attached to her waist.

"Comet, what are you doing!? Put your weapon down right this instant!" Said May, feeling angry and worried at Comet's situation as she's seen and felt how scary Idonea is.

Seeing how Comet no longer looked at Idonea with just lustful eyes, but instead fear and wariness was there as well, caused a smile to form on my face. Why would the way Comet looks at Idonea suddenly shift for no reason? Unless he somehow figured out Idonea's cultivation base, which shouldn't be possible for anyone, including me, unless Idonea purposefully revealed it; however, the way Comet looked at me slightly confused me; I could feel a profound amount of fear radiating off his eyes, much more than when he looked at Idonea. Which I felt was weird since he obviously didn't know about my background; otherwise, I would've sensed fear along with respect.

"But he had just attacked me, May!" Exclaimed Comet while keeping his eyes locked on Elif and Idonea.

"I don't know why you're being so cautious; I never once attacked you." Said Elif, covering the smile on his face with his quạt tay.

After a couple of seconds of a tense atmosphere, Comet eventually gave up.

"Fine, but be careful, May, they're dangerous. I don't want you getting hurt." Said Comet as he calmed down before making his way over to May and acting all sweet, causing May to blush slightly in response.

"O-Ok, anyways, Comet, I know you said no, but I wanted to ask one last time before I return home, do you wish to come with me?" Asked May seriously, though the blush was still present on her face.

___

___

I wanted to say no, as I still had some things I wished to do before heading to May's sect; however, seeing how those two seemed to be tagging along with May forced me to change my answer; I can't have my women interacting with such dangerous people.

"Actually, I would love to visit your sect." Said Comet while using the system's abilities, causing May to be more attracted to him than usual.

"T-That's great! Now I'll be able to properly repay you for everything you've done. Though if you wish to accompany me, you'll need Prince Elif to agree." Said May happily before quickly turning around, worried Elif would be mad at his disrespectful actions.

"Comet can come along; he should keep me interested for a bit." Said Elif with a smile that angered Comet.

"Thank you for your generosity, Prince Elif. Comet, you bow as well." Said May, bowing before Elif while encouraging Comet to bow as well.

"Nope, I refuse to bow to anyone!" Exclaimed Comet while looking directly at Elif, much to May's shock and Idonea's anger.

"P-Prince Elif, allow me to apologize for his actions; I hope you can forgive him!" Said May nervously and feeling angry at Comets' foolish actions.

"Hmm, don't worry about it. I wouldn't get angry over someone so inferior to me; it would be a waste of time." Said Elif casually as he placated Idonea beside him, while his words caused May to feel awkward and Comet to get angry.

"Tsk, you sound quite confident that I'm inferior to you; how do you know that's true?" Said Comet while looking at Elif aggressively, causing Idonea's anger to skyrocket, though before she could speak, someone else beat them to it.

"Hehe, well, for starters, I'm more talented than you, more powerful than you, and much better looking." Stated Elif, finding it funny that someone so insignificant actually dared to talk back to him.

"Your cultivation base is merely greater than mine; that's it. If your cultivation base was the same as mine, I'm confident I'm stronger!" Declared Comet, causing the extremely angry Idonea to quietly chuckle before her face hardened again.

After I said that, I saw how Elif chuckled before suppressing his cultivation base to the same as mine, peak-Nascent Soul realm.

"Since I find you mildly interesting, I don't mind playing this little game. All you must do is survive one of my casual attacks." Said Elif while waiting for Comet to prepare in advance.

'Hmph, it seems he's underestimating me, though; I guess it's understandable; it's not every day you come across someone who can fight two entire realms above your cultivation base!' Thought Comet smugly while getting into position and waiting for Elif to attack.

Once I was ready to block his attack, I saw him reach his hand forward, and then a giant purple hand up above began manifesting with an incredible amount of power radiating off it. Its suppression effect alone nearly forced me to my knees, but quickly after, my system started greedily devouring the Qi, which almost caused me to kneel.

'How much Qi is that!? My points are going up by nearly a thousand every second! However, there is no way this is one of his casual attacks; he must've used one of his most powerful attacks in hopes of embarrassing me. Unluckily for you, I can just buy a talisman with the points you gave me to block this attack.' Thought Comet, waiting for the purple hand to attack him before using the talisman.

"Do try your best to survive; I'd be quite bored if you were to die so quickly." Said Elif as he launched his attack directly at Comet.

Seeing the purple hand head directly for me, I waited for the perfect moment and quickly activated the talisman, forming a small, ethereal dome around me. However, I quickly noticed the talisman wouldn't last, so I used all my points and bought two more before activating both, halting the purple palms' progress. Yet to my utter astonishment, not even three talismans could stop his attack.

'How strong is that attack!? Those talismans are supposed to be capable of blocking a full-strength attack of mine, yet not even three of them can stop this boy's palm!' Thought Comet as he watched how all three talismans simultaneously were destroyed while Elif's attack continued heading toward him.

Having no more system points, I was forced to stop the attack myself, and even with the system's help, I barely managed to destroy the purple palm, yet I was completely drained and exhausted.

"Quite impressive that someone in this tiny realm could survive one of my casual attacks." Said Elif as he looked at the collapsing body of Comet.
