1 Short Story

In a faraway land, there lived a girl named Winter. She was living with her parents in their simple home. She loves to play snowball fight and making snow figures with her father. She has a perfect family, everything that anyone would love to have. Every person in their town also love her because of her kind heart and charming smile.

One snowy night, while Winter was in her room reading a book, she noticed a strange pile of snow at their front yard. She went outside to look at it. When she was about to touch it, a lightning suddenly struck her. She fell on the floor and became unconscious. Her father saw what happened and immediately went outside to rescue her. Little did Winter know that this will be the last time that she would be with her parents.

When her father touched her, he suddenly felt a strong electric force that resulted for him to be thrown away. He fell on the floor and turned into ice. Winter's mother witnessed this tragic event. She went outside too to rescue her daughter and husband. However, she also turned into ice when she held Winter.

Months passed and one sunny day, Winter finally woke up from a very long sleep. When she opened her eyes, she found herself alone in her room. She called her parents but no one answered. She checked every room but she found no one. She went outside to look for them. She tried asking her neighbors what happened but everybody's avoiding her. She doesn't know why because she can't remember everything that happened after she touched that pile of snow. She felt sad and hopeless and just decided to go back to their house.

While walking home, she bumped into an old woman. She apologized and continued walking. After a few steps, the old woman said to her, "You don't remember anything, right? Go back to your garden. You'll find the clue there." Puzzled with what the old woman said, she hurriedly went back to the garden. She wanted to look for that clue. Maybe it will help her see her parents again.

She was in the garden searching for that clue. When she was about to give up, she found a shiny thing on the grass. When she picked it, it was her parents' wedding rings! She thought that maybe this was the clue that the old woman said. She went inside their house to think about what these rings signify. Still unsure what to do, she decided to put the rings on her finger. Suddenly, she felt a strong electric current coming from the rings. She felt asleep once again.

During her deep sleep, she dreamt of everything that happened right from when she touched the pile of snow until her parents turned into ice. She realized that she gained a superpower that can turn anything into ice. She could not imagine that she was the main reason why her parents were gone. She also found out that her neighbors forgot her whole existence after she turned the whole town into snow because of her powers too. She was so mad at herself. She finally woke up after crying so loud.

Determined to get her parents and their town back, she tried to use her powers again. At first, her power was hard to manage. She could not control it. But with tireless practice, she was able to control it through her emotions. She placed the rings from where she found it. Just like what she and her father used to do, she tried making a snow figure of her parents. When she was done sculpting them, she closed her eyes and wished. After a few seconds, she opened her eyes and saw her parents! They were sleeping and shivering. She hurriedly approached and hugged them to make them feel warm. Finally, her parents woke up as if nothing happened. And because she is still responsible for what happened in her town, with the help of her parents, they made snowballs with the help of her powers. These snowballs contain the good memories of their town. They threw it to the different parts of the town. Gradually, the town came back just the way it was before.

From then on, Winter was able to use her powers for the good of their town.
