Necromancy

Klaus was happy to have Elias on board, not that it changed all that much. Klaus frowned as he stepped in another puddle of water. Klaus was wet, cold, and angry; why did his father have to be such an irrational maniac. Klaus jumped over a log that was in his path but tripped when he heard a voice beside him.

Klaus fell face-first into the dirt before quickly climbing to his feet. "can you warn me before talking so loudly."

Elias looked at Klaus, amused at how wound his friend was. This whole, "my father is going to kill me," stuff is getting to him.

"Klaus, I was just asking if you know where you're going."

"Elias, I know you're trying to help, but how do you expect us to find a were-child in these wood. My father set me up to fail. He wants an excuse to kill me. So unless you have a way to find the beast boy, then you should just run away from the village with me."

Elias thought what Klaus said was reasonable, but Elias had magic now; perhaps there was some way to find out where the Boy was.

Klaus looked at Elias, who had a thoughtful expression on his face. Klaus looked at Elias expectantly and was happy when Elias replied for him to wait and let him try something. Klaus hid his surprise when he saw Elias's eyes lit up a faint red color as Elias looked into the pitch dark wood. Klaus had grown up around magic and so knew that Elias had managed to use it. It seemed like there was more to Elias than he thought.

Elias told Klaus to follow him and then grabbed his hand to guide him through the pitch dark woods. Elias began to pull Klaus as fast as he could as he saw a dark aura shadow trying to pull away from them. Klaus began to pant before finally making Elias stop, "Elias, you might be able to keep running, but I need to rest for a while."

Elias looked frustrated but told Klaus it was okay. It wasn't like they were making progress anyway. Klaus found a log to sit on, and Elias sat beside him.

"Klaus, it looks like our target can sense us and move away" Klaus gave Elias a weird look, but Elias just ignored that as he suddenly had an epiphany. Elias remembered his father telling them that Beast-men had an acute sense of smell. Elias lifted his armpit and looked a sniff and instantly gagged. Ever since he had absorbed natural energy, his sense of smell had become more acute. Elias ran toward a water puddle and took the soft mud and began to wipe the dirt all over his face and then tried his best to ruin his clothes with it too.

"What are you doing, Elias! Why are you trying to ruin the clothes your mother Alva spent hours making."

Elias looked at Klaus and told him to shut up before preceding to smear Klaus with the same dirt. Much to Klaus's protest. Just as Klaus was about to initiate their first fight as friend Elias held up his hand and tried to explain to Klaus.

"Don't you understand Klaus the beast can smell us? We have to hide our scent if we want to get close to him."

Klaus remembering his father's threat, proceded to slop mud all over his clothes with a fierce look in his eyes.

" Let's go catch the beast."

This time Elias began to gain on the beast as they were running toward its location until finally, Elias could see the creature's unique aura.

"We're here."
