1 Chapter 1 : Unique Beast

"Max! If you don't give me that beast I'm going to kill YOU!"

"No way. I captured it first. IT'S MINE!!!"

"GET HIM!!!"

Max a human boy within the age of 15 years old, ran at full speed with a cage in his hand. He was chased by three beast teenagers the same age as him.

"He's so fast we can't keep up with him. He got away"

"Damn it. Never mind, my grandfather will handle the rest. Just you wait for Max. I'm going to get the Lightning-type Phyonet from you for sure. Such rare Elemon can only show its potential in my hands"

Max is a human teenager of the small Firefly village. His parents died in an accident. He was raised by the Fifth grand elder of the village for a short time. After a decade of taking in max, the Fifth grand elder passed away due to his old age.

Before the Fifth grand elder passed away, he made sure some of his trusted friends and subordinate will take care of Max and provide him with ways to make money.

Some Elders of the village and teachers from the school accepted Max but everybody else especially the beast race dislikes him because the beast race believes in bad luck and curses.

Due to events that happened after his birth, Max was labelled as a jinx of the village by beast race elders. On the day he was born, a 5th stage Wood-Fire type Nightmare Owl attacked and destroyed half of the village and killed a lot of the tamer knights who defended the village.

Another three years later, his parents died protecting him when their house was caught on fire. That caused most of the younger generations of the village to avoid him.

Even though Firefly village was a large and unique village that has three different races living in peace, Max just has three friends. one was a human girl named Cherry and the others were two troll boys named Jack and Kenny.

After leaving Jin and his friends in the dust, Max went back to his house. It was just a small house that Fifth grand elder built to live with Max in his last days. It is also the last thing Fifth grand elder left behind for Max.

Placing down the cage in a secure location, Max proceeded to tend on his wounds caused in the time he stayed in the jungle to capture the Phyonet. Just a Max was about to cook up a meal, he heard knocks from his front door.

KNOCK!!!KNOCK!!!KNOCK!!!

"Hey, kid open the door! The Eight grand elder is here to see you."

Max was shocked. He had expected just some elders from the beast race to come. But to his surprise, the current grand elder came in person. He breathed out a sigh and opened the door to find Eight grand elder from the human race, all other Elders and some other villagers were waiting at his door.

Max was puzzled of this development. Why were all the elders getting involved in a small matter of teenagers? Did the elders come for a different reason?

"Max of the younger generation greets the Eight grand elder and the council of elders."

"Max, the council of elders has come today to administrate justice towards your classmates. We have received a complaint, regarding your action of stealing an F-rank Elemon. Do you have anything to say?"

Max was shocked. So, the thing that caught the elders fancy was indeed his newly captured Elemon. To think it was an F-rank rarity. Even Grand elders only posses G-rank or H-rank rarity Elemons.

Compared to small villages, the Elemon of the elders are high ranks. But and F-rank can only be seen in the cities. The villagers started to discuss among themselves. How can someone like Max be in possession of an F-Rank Elemon?

"Respected elders. I am indeed in possession of a Cross-Element Elemon. But I didn't steal it. I spent a lot of money and time in preparing to capture a Phyonet since a month ago. But it just happened the one I captured was Cross-Element Elemon. So, this junior is confused, when did I steal it?"

The elders discussed among themselves. Even though they were invited to administrate justice because of Jin's grandfather, they themselves didn't see the action of stealing happen. So, how could they know which one was the truth?

"So, if you say you caught it, we have to believe it? How do we know you're telling the truth? Not to mention that Jin is my grandson. I have known for some time, that Jin is planning to capture Phyonet in the woods."

Max frowned. Even if Jin is a grandson of an elder, how could his grandfather shamelessly support him? The problem for Max right knows was backing. Jin has his grandfather, but for Max currently, he has none.

"Elder, I'm not trying to be disrespectful. But they may have stumbled upon the Phyonet as well, but I was the one who caught it first. They don't have proof of themselves capturing it."

"Then, what proof do you have? How do you want to prove to us, that you captured it first before Jin? You think you can escape without proving anything yourself."

"I have officially applied and been granted permission to leave the village and traverse the area where the Phyonet's habitat was located since a month ago. And more than anything else, I am currently in possession of the Elemon."

The villagers and elders broke into discussion. Max's claims certainly are true. After all, to enter the wilderness one must go through the guards. People without permission certainly are not allowed to pass through the gate.

"And how does that serve as proof? You must have noticed them setting trap for the Elemon and stolen the Elemon immediately after they captured it."

Max frowned. Just because he was giving face to the elder position held by Jin's grandfather, doesn't mean he can't fight for himself.

"Elder, don't you think it's really laughable to just claim an Elemon as stolen? Why do I have to prove I caught the Elemon? They claim that I stole it from them, but are not even here to prove it. Heck, I can claim Jin's Unihorse was stolen from me. How can he prove that he caught it himself?"

Even though Max said it jokingly, it was, in fact, the truth. Unihorse is a unique Elemon that has the potential to evolve into three different types of Elemons. The best-evolved form for Unihorse is Horned Pegasus, an E-rank Elemon. But as it is, Unihorse is just an H-rank at best.

The villagers remember the day Jin returned from the wilderness, riding on the back of his Unihorse. But little do they know, Jin stole the Elemon from Max. He even stayed in the wilderness for quite some time to tame it beforehand. Max resented Jin for this. But he could not do anything after the Elemon was tamed.

Even if Max tried to fight for the Unihorse, Jin is the grandson of an elder. He can just run away with it after all the Unihorse was already tamed. Not to mention Jin is acknowledged as the genius of his age.

A year has already passed since then. But Jin is again trying to eye Max's Elemon. But this time, Max was prepared. When he heard Jin applied to explore the wilderness at the same time as him, he instantly knew what Jin was planning. He had set traps for Jin and passages for himself to run away.

"Impudent! Do you think you can escape by putting things like that? It looks more like you were well prepared to steal the Elemon for a long time. Jin of stealing the Unihorse from you? Can you even catch a Unihorse? Even though it is a mediocre Elemon, it is still an Elemon well known for its speed. With your performance in the academy, it is only a joke."

Anger flashed in Max's face. But he calmed down and released a sigh. Ignoring Jin's grandfather, he turned towards the grand elder and other elders.

"Elders, I do not mind to be questioned by elders. But I do not want to talk to Jin's grandfather. It really looks like a one-sided accusation rather than questioning to find the truth."
