Cultivation Conventions

Here we go, the cultivation convention guide.

=================================================

Naming Cultivation Levels

This will be incredibly short because the naming is infinitely simpler than it sounds when you actually say it.

All that's really necessary to know is roughly where each Domain is in the order of least progressed to furthest progressed.

(There are literally 10 Domains for each cultivation path and only 5 have been mentioned. Shouldn't be hard to remember; plus, they are simplified significantly now).

This is just so if I mention a Meridian Domain cultivator is conversing with a Foundation Domain cultivator, then you know why the Foundation Domain cultivator seems like he is about to leak something shameful (heh heh heh).

Even then, I will usually explain the difference in cultivation if it is necessary to set the scene or something so it isn't required; just recommended.

Now, as per usual, I am going to add the usual basic information that is pertinent to ALL of my cultivation realm related glossaries before going into the naming conventions.

(note: This is NOT a way to guarantee I have enough words to upload the chapter ;-) )

Domain/Evolution:

The largest boundary in cultivation.

Usually used as a divisor between major differences in how someone improves in strength.

Example (qi cultivation example): The Foundation Domain is for setting your foundations, opening your energy systems and accumulating qi for the Generation Domain.

Realm:

The middle-level boundary in cultivation.

There are usually three of these in every Domain.

Stage:

The low-level boundary in cultivation.

Used to indicate the progress of the cultivator in their current realm.

Divided into three per realm.

Name of each stage is generally the same, except for the last (currently created) Realm which has different names.

There is no such thing as half-step or half-*enter realm name* because it just makes stuff too complicated the author's Dao of the Web got scarred for life after reading Martial God Asura before author realised that it is a sin to read that book.

Now to the naming conventions.

Okay, so naming conventions are simple for Elemental Ascension.

There are three, one for each path so far. The first two are practically the same except the first and third word are switched so it sounds better for soul cultivation.

----------------------------------------------

Naming method 1: Qi Cultivation

*Realm Name* *Domain Name* *Stage Name*

This one is rather simple.

First, we got the Realm name.

The Realm and Stage names are always the below mentioned.

Qi: [Realms] = Earth, Sky and Heaven.

[Stages] = Pupil, Warrior and Champion.

Second is the Domain name and third is the Stage name.

Example:

| Domain: Attunement | Realm: Sky | Stage: Champion |

Is known as a "Sky Attunement Champion".

-------------------------------------------------------

Naming method 2: Soul Cultivation

*Stage Name* *Domain Name* *Realm Name*

This is practically the same as the 1st method, except the Stage name and Realm name are switched so it sounds more natural and flows better.

First is the Stage.

Like with Qi cultivation, the Stages and Realms remain the same throughout (excluding the 10th Domain, that is unique for all).

The Stages and Realms are mentioned below.

Soul: [Realms] = Disciple, Scholar and Sage.

[Stages] = Initial, Advanced and Grand.

Like with qi cultivation, the Domain name is second.

The remaining name, the Realm name is third.

Example:

A cultivator of this level of cultivation: | Domain: Nebula | Realm: Scholar | Stage: Grand |

Is known as a "Grand Nebula Scholar".

-------------------------------------------------------

Naming method 3: Physique Cultivation

*Domain/Evolution name* *Stage name*

Okay, so first is the Domain/Evolution name of the cultivator. In other words, for now, this is the Evolution due to the absence of any repeating cultivation system names that use Domains.

The second part is simply the stage the person is at.

The Realm isn't necessary since the stage names are all unique to the Domain and therefore the name of the stage also informs us of the Realm of the cultivator.

This one doesn't need a final word and it reduces the flow of the naming if you add "Stage" on the end anyway. Here is an example using physique cultivation names.

---------------------------------------------------

Physique Cultivation

Level = Evolution: 4th | Realm: Processing | Stage: Skin Reinforcement

Name = 4th Skin Reinforcement

See, it is simple and effective at giving information about the cultivation level of a person.

It shows that it is the 4th time the cultivator is undergoing Skin Reinforcement and this means that the cultivator is in the Processing Realm.

Alright, I guess I better start on the next chapter of the book, enough mucking around with glossaries and naming conventions haha.

Ranks of Dao and their naming conventions

For this section, I will actually need to go into a bit of detail as to the way that Daos are ranked.

This will actually end up spoiling the reason I am planning 5 books in this single series but tbh I don't really care if people know everything to do with the way my series works.

In fact, if people want, I am quite happy to post a link leading to what would be a specially made google doc account which shares EVERYTHING related to the way the world of this series will work.

After all, I see it as more of a compliment than an insult if someone used the same system my series is based off.

I am getting off track... so I will get straight into the 5 Ranks of Dao.

The following will have the rank, explanation on rank, name, 2 examples and a quick explanation of how naming that rank of dao works.

-----------------------------

Rank 1:

Cardinal

Examples: Elemental and Samsaric

The strongest/most complete Dao to possibly achieve.

Once someone has comprehended a Cardinal Dao, any non-relevant Dao or Dao that is made of a fusion of Dao that are not all of the Cardinal Dao will be removed.

A person can only comprehend one Cardinal Dao in their life, it altering their body to make it impossible to comprehend any other unrelated Dao.

Naming system: *Dao Name* Dao = Elemental Dao

-----------------------------

Rank 2:

Supreme

Examples: Space, Destruction and Yang

The second strongest Dao, the base for the comprehension of a Cardinal Dao.

Naming system: Supreme Dao of *Dao Name* = Supreme Dao of Space

-----------------------------

Rank 3:

Profound

Examples: Lesser yang, Void Space and Ice.

The base for comprehending a Supreme Dao, the Profound Dao are generally aspects of the Supreme Dao they can be advanced to.

Naming system: Profound Dao of *Dao Name* = Profound Dao of Lesser yang

-----------------------------

Rank 4:

Dao

Examples: Frost, Repulsion and Blood.

The simplest Dao that almost anyone can comprehend. Practically useless in any place at a certain level of general quality of cultivators.

Naming System: Dao of *Dao Name* = Dao of Frost

-----------------------------

IMPORTANT NOTE:

All kinds of the Dao have an attribute of qi. However, using attributes of a superior qi that the Dao used is derived from; e.g. Using elemental qi in conjunction with the Profound Dao of Ice has no difference in result.
