2 The Bargain

"Sir, we've located a Jeweled wolf. What would you like me to do with it? She is out in Garial Kingdom." The reporter said to the king, who seemed to be deep in thought. "Call my sons. They are more skilled with these kinds of things, trust me." The reporter bowed, and went to find his sons, obeying the king's orders. When he made it to the room, he heard the three boys talking about fighting styles. The man knocked, and the talking stopped. "Hello?" The youngest one, Aaron asked. The man said, "The king has requested to see you. If you could spare a few minutes of your time, he is waiting." The door slowly creaked open, and the reporter cringed at the noise. "When will you three oil the hinges?" Finn, the oldest, replied to the man with a simple: "When the royal family is no longer threatened, by anyone."' The man sighed before saying "Alright, but please hurry up. You know the king does not like waiting. That is all for now." He bowed and walked away, also leaving the three princes alone.

"Well, I suppose we should go," Frank, the middle aged one said, and when his brothers nodded, they grabbed their swords, and jogged down the halls, into the throne room, only to see their dad at the tip of a sword's blade.

"Where is it?" The man soothed, caressing their dad's hair. "I-I won't tell you--" The sword jammed harder into the king's windpipe, cutting off what he was going to say. "Ah, ah, ah. I know you were trying to find her and save her. If you tell us, we might just let her live. But if we find out that the little Jewel wolf of our own, without you telling us? Well, we'll make sure she died a brutal and painful death. So, which one is it? Are you going to spare her life? Or are you going to let her die due to your own selfish regards? Oh, and don't worry, there's no time limit. We already have our soldiers searching every kingdom. You do know that the Garial forces consist of around 6 million troops? And trust me, your five or six thousand troops won't defeat us. So--" The person who was holding the sword stopped short when a glass wine cup smashed against their head.

He turned to face the three boys, and the look of shock in his pine eyes when he saw them. However, that look didn't last long, and soon melted into relief. "How about this? You tell both of us, and we will go on a hunt for her. The person who finds her first keeps her, and she will not be hunted by the other. Are we in agreement?" The man proposed the offer, and with that, the king sighed in relief, but then tensed up almost immediately. "You promise not to torture her, or kill her?" His captor reluctantly nodded, and The king said:

"I will allow it. However, if one of the other team contradicts these terms, They are allowed to be killed with no backlash," He sent a sorrowful glance at his sons, knowing that if they didn't follow the terms, that they could be killed with nothing done to prevent it. They nodded at him to reassure him, and when the man nodded, he also released their dad, and helped him up.

"May the best searcher win,"
