53 51: Siblings' Spar

Coming out of the Experimentation Room, he immediately asked about Thaddeus. Receiving the news that the dog was okay, he sighed in relief and went on about his day.

He sat on the living room couch, deciding on what he should get as a reward for creating such an amazing Force Control.

'I still need to know how it fares in a fight, though...' he thought silently.

Just then, someone walks into the room and a grin made its way to Shinji's face.

"Hey, sis. No school today?" he asked the person who entered.

"Nope," she answered.

"Any reasons why?"

"'Cause I'm going to the Awakened Academy tomorrow, you dolt. Also, I'm going out later..." she replied.

He raised his hands, and said, "Jeez, I was just asking... Anyways, did you ever keep count of the results of our spar?"

"Yes... Forty-nine matches, you won... on all of them. Tch," she responded hesitantly.

"Great! Wanna make that fifty? Let's go, right now. You know, to get you prepared for the Academy... Hell, I'll even give myself a handicap." he said tauntingly.

"Oh, you're on, bastard."

'Good. I'm sorry, sis, but please serve as my guinea pig. You're the only one who's currently available, and can also give me a challenge.' he thought with a smile.

They quickly made their way to the Training Room and faced each other.

"Alright, just like the usual. When this ice hits the ground, the match starts," he tells her.

Receiving a nod, Shinji then raises an icicle in the air.

"Ready?"

"Yeah." she answers with a sigh, calming herself, but at the same time, she thinks, 'Oppa's only using Hydrokinesis. On our spars, he uses it but only to support his Cryokinesis... If I didn't know Oppa, I'd say this would be an easy match, but I know that's not the case. He always has something up his sleeve, or else he wouldn't restrict himself like that.'

As she finishes her thoughts, the icicle hits the ground. She hastily raises her hand and conjures several shards of ice, propelling them toward her brother at breakneck speed.

But, said brother summons lances made of water, and launches them at the shards. Once the two attacks made contact, steam seemed to generate as the shards were swallowed by the lances.

"Tch," she clicked her tongue and touched the floor. Ice spikes were produced, rapidly making their way toward Shinji.

He cartwheeled out of the way, just in time to dodge the spikes. But, his eyes widen and a titter escaped his mouth as he saw Subin already on her way to his location, ice daggers in her hands.

Landing on his feet, he quickly sends a water bubble toward her.

She slices it in the middle, not noticing the lance following it. Since the lance had more power in it, she was sent back a few meters.

She exhales, touching the floor. The room instantly gets covered in ice, huge chunks scattered across the space.

"Jeez, you're already going all out? But, we're just getting started!" he commented with a chuckle.

She replies with a confident grin while wiping some sweat off her face, "Of course,"

Not wasting a second, she dashes toward Shinji, using the chunks of ice to conceal her movements.

As she kept getting closer to her brother, he was suddenly wrapped in water. The ice around him slowly gets thawed due to the water.

Adjusting herself to get a better position, she started freezing the huge dome of water surrounding him, but it just kept getting swallowed by the water.

"That's not going to work, Sis~" his voice echoed throughout the room.

"Tch. Shut up!"

'I'm already going out from the start so, I'm just going to use it. Now's the best time to use it since I can hide behind the ice.' she thought.

Still hiding from him, she slowly gathered her energy to release a very strong attack. However, she didn't take her eyes off the dome and also kept her guard up, as her brother was always tricky to fight with.

'I think I'll call this... [Neptune's Protection]. Now, where is she? This is really going to be challenging because I plan to keep my promise of only using Hydrokinesis- Pfft. With all the energy gathering in that part of the room, it's pretty obvious where she is.' he notes silently.

He makes the dome of water even bigger and bulky, to prepare for Subin's attack.

After a few seconds, she finally formed her attack. It was an ice construct, shaped like a diamond with ice particles floating around it. Ready to unleash her attack, she came out of her hiding place, aimed toward the dome, and fired.

"Heh." she voiced out, feeling triumphant, but she exhaled, reminding herself of who she was fighting.

As the attack pierced the dome, the water around her attack froze. She immediately conjured several dozens of icicles around the frozen dome and let them rain on the construct.

"That should have taken care of Oppa, right?... No... It seems too easy..." she muttered. She carefully looks around the room, and she spots a spear made of water coming toward her swiftly.

But, it was easily blocked when she summoned a shield of ice.

"You are correct on that, Sister. Did you really think that would work against me?" he asked tauntingly.

Subin replied with a smirk, "Of course not. Besides, the fight's only getting started. It would be very disappointing if you were that weak, Oppa."
