50 48: The Date

•~•~•~•~•~•~•

We could see our Protagonist, checking himself out in front of a mirror. He wore white long-sleeved polo, matched with black pants.

"Hm, slicked, or not slicked? What do you think, Thaddeus?"

| Both look good, Master Shinji. |

"Yeah, but I'm not going to go with slicked hair. It just makes me look like a jackass." the teen decided.

| Good choice. | said the dog.

...

After preparing himself, he took a car and went to the Shinhwa Building. Approaching the building, he saw Jiyoung wearing her regular outfit.

"Shinji? I thought we were going to meet at the Cinema...?" she asked, clearly confused.

"What? I didn't say that! Well... we didn't technically say where we were going to meet up, so I thought why not just go together?" he replied.

"Yes, I guess that's sensible." she nodded.

...

As Shinji sped through the streets...

"So, what kind of movie do you feel like watching?" he asked Jiyoung.

She replied, "Anything... But, I don't necessarily like Romance.

"Alright, good to know..."

...

After a few minutes of driving, they finally arrived at the Mall. And, the place was bustling with people.

They immediately went to the Cinema and looking at the posters, there were many choices to choose from.

There were Korean Movies such as; Get Schooled, The Remarried Empress, and Sweet Home. But, there were also some Foreign Movies...

[A/N: By the by, those titles are Manhwas/Webtoons... Sweet Home has a movie adaptation, though.]

[P.S: Am I allowed to put those titles in my story, or do I have to adjust something?...]

As Shinji was glancing at the choices, he spots Jiyoung, completely ignoring all of them, except for one. To him, she looked adorable as she focused on a movie called, "A Dog's Life".

'She really loves animals...' he thought with a genuine smile.

"You wanna watch that?" he asked her.

"Hm? No, no, I'll watch whatever you pick," she replied.

"Gotcha, let me just go buy the tickets."

A few minutes passed, and he came back to Jiyoung. When she turned to look at him, she was carrying popcorn and some drinks.

"Oh, here, let me help you with that... Alright, let's go watch 'A Dog's Life'!" he exclaimed.

Coming inside the theater, she was caught off guard, since she genuinely didn't expect that Shinji was going to pick that movie.

Looking at his excited face did make her elevated as well, considering she secretly adored animals.

...

The movie followed the different lives of a dog named Bailey, and his journey to go back to his first owner. And through his journey, he discovers the meaning of love, his existence, and much more.

The people laughed as the dog made jokes about things he couldn't understand, such as kissing.

But, when it came to his first untimely death, several people broke into tears.

Jiyoung certainly teared up, and so did Shinji.

...

[A hour and a half later...]

As the movie ended, the people left the theater with moist eyes, but happy faces.

'I thought I would never see Jiyoung cry, like 'that' time... Well, she didn't actually cry, she just teared up.' Shinji noted.

'Me, I most definitely did not cry... I only teared up, just like Jiyoung!'

...

"So... How was the movie, Jiyoung?" he asked.

"It was... good."

"Heh, it was more than good. But, how about today? How was it?"

She turned to him, confused, and asked, "What do you mean?"

"You know, taking a break from all of the Shinhwa stuff. Taking a break from being their Chairwoman..." he answered.

Jiyoung Yoo widened her eyes at this, as she just realized what Shinji did, and that when she stepped foot inside the Cinema, she has not once thought about the Shinhwa Association.

However, this brought mixed feelings, and Shinji could definitely see it, or rather, sense it.

"Hey, why are you being gloomy? I get that we just finished watching something sad, but..." he asked her.

She looked down, "No, I'm happy that I was able to take a break, but it makes me a bad Chairwoman."

"How? Just because you enjoyed yourself, doesn't mean that you're a bad Chairwoman." Shinji told her. He then placed a hand on her shoulder and continued, "You need something like this every once in a while, you know? Hell, even Gramps takes a vacation every few months! Have you done that?"

"N-no..."

"Phew, alright then." he exhaled and then grabbed Jiyoung's hand, dragging her towards a different part of the mall.

"Where are we going?" she asked as she was being dragged by him.

He gives her a smile and says, "To have fun!"

...

[A few hours later...]

In front of a familiar building, we could see a young man and woman, with the pale orange light of the setting sun in the background.

"Running around the mall is tiring..." Shinji commented.

A small smile formed on Jiyoung's face as she replied, "Yes... But, I had fun, Shinji."

"I'm glad you did," he replied with an honest smile.

Arriving at the doors, she stopped and said, "I have spent so many years as Shinhwa's Chairwoman... and I definitely needed this, as you said."

"Thank you, Shinji." she thanked him with a grateful face, unlike her usual expressionless one.

"Hey, no need to thank me. If you ever want to have a good time again, just call me." Shinji replied with a gentle smile, not even noticing the double entendre.

...

As the young man was leaving, Jiyoung asked him something.

"Shinji..."

"Hm?"

"Was this a date?" she said.

"If you want it to, then yes." he replied, but he added something silently, "I'm definitely counting this as our first date, though~."

She smiled once more, and told him, "Goodbye, Shinji. Thank you, once again."

"Yep, bye~!"

And so, their afternoon ended with smiles on both their faces.

*****

In the building, Jiyoung ran into Inhyuk. And the man greeted her, "Hello, Chairwoman."

"Hello, Inyuk." she greeted back, the small smile still on her face.

'Why was the Chairwoman... smiling? Where am I? Am I daydreaming, or did Jisuk, that brat, finally decide to be serious about school?' the man in the green suit wondered.

*****

What did you think of the chapter?

Decided to actually develop their relationship, so I'm sorry if there wasn't any action. :P

Also, if this was an anime, I think this would count as filler... right?
