Third Person's POV

[Carson Palace - Year 543]

"Eleanor you disgust me!" The man with ocean blue hair said with contempt as he stares into a lady with silver hair and golden eyes.

The man is wearing a glorious crown on his head and a red cape. The aura of nobility is obvious.

The woman named Eleanor is not in the right state of mind. She looks very distressed.

The other nobles are looking at her like they are seeing an eyesore.

Today is the coronation of Mikhail Stephan Byron as the King.

Today is also the day where the Arundell Duchy is gone from history.

Eleanor is wailing in front of the imperial palace. She is shouting she should have been the queen. She should have been Mikhail's wife.

When the newly crowned king's patience wears off he asked the guards to throw the lady away from the palace.

Eleanor struggles but as expected nothing happened.

Many noble whispered at the scene playing in their eyes. They are mocking Eleanor.

Today her family's status and power have been all removed. A long history of Arundell Duchy has been cut off as of today.

Eleanor Arundell is just a lowly commoner now.

The newly crowned queen at the palace balcony looked at Eleanor with a grin. She is happy at the scene.

Eleanor Arundell is no longer higher than her that is what she is thinking.

Today the palace is celebrating but Eleanor is dying.

After the formalities and the dissolution of the Arundel Duchy. Eleanor is thrown into the city of Delli.

Delli a merchant city.

A merchant city isn't lacking people. The place is always noisy. At first, Eleanor thought that this place is not suitable for her a noble daughter but she realized that she is still lucky.

She's still alive.

She became an inn worker because a couple took pity on her while she is going to start begging. Eleanor lost all her money because of her extravagant way of living the first month she lived in Delli.

The kind couple said she is the same age as his son. Their son is a soldier who died because of the demon attack.

The couple is her savior and after a few years, she continues living as an inn worker.

She is very bad at her first month but because the inn owners are kind they continued to teach her the proper way to serve the guests.

[Delli City - Year 545]

She is living happily until the demons invade again Carson. The city of Delli has been wiped out. The couple whom she already thought of as her second parents died.

The demon attack is so strong that the palace can't compare this attack from the attack 2 years before.

This time the Carson Palace fell.

The whole Kingdom Fell.

The Kingdom of Carson ended up in the hands of the demons.

Mikhail died with most of the kingdom's general. Eleanor didn't know what she will feel learning her ex-husband died.

These past months she thinks that she is wrong because of being stubborn she ended up robbing someone else love.

She regrets loving him. No, it is more accurate to say She regrets continue loving him one-sidedly.

Regret is filling her heart. She misses her son. She should have given Charles more love. She should have given the love Mikhail didn't want to have for Charles instead of yearning for Mikhail's love.

Many people said that if you are near your death's door you will recall everything you have done. Bad things or Good Things. Eleanor only remembered the bad things she has done.

The couple that owned the inn died. The noisy place that full of people is so quiet.

She is all alone.

The inn doors opened.

"Excuse me is there anybody here?" A man's voice said as he peaked at the door.

A man with Red hair entered the inn and their eyes met.

The man looked like he is the same age as Eleanor.

Eleanor wondered how is there someone wondering this time? How can he survive?

In Eleanor's mind, she just concluded that maybe the man is a wandering soldier.

"Wow there is a beautiful girl here" the red-haired man blurted out. The words of the man had no tact and the man became embarrassed.

Eleanor is surprised but smiled.

The way he spoke is like how several of the inn's customers complimented her.

She felt nostalgic.

"Sir, are you looking for a place to stay?" Eleanor asked the man like she is asking a customer during normal business.

The red-haired man looks so exhausted, he's surely exhausted hiding from the demons.

"Are you all alone here?" The man asked looking at the inn. The man observed the inn with no trace of life except for Eleanor.

Eleanor nodded.

Eleanor kept quiet as she gets the room keys.

Sooner or later this place will also vanish it's lonely to be alone so she will shelter this red-haired man.

"Sir take these keys and have a rest in one of the rooms upstairs" She handed the keys to the man.

The man looked at the room key in the hand Eleanor for a while before saying thank you.

The man head upstairs and Eleanor continues to seat in the bar.

Maybe one good dead before the end of her life will make god consider allowing her to see Charles for the last time.

After a few weeks, they continue to live smoothly and they became friends. They talk about trivial things such as favorite food and wine.

They didn't become bored and started to have some affection for each other.

"Let me call you Elli," William asked while smiling.

Eleanor looked at William.

This guy called William is a sly man. He is kind but not the polite kind.

Today they are eating cabbage soup.

They desperately squeezed the almost rotten cabbage of its nutrients to survive the day without starving.

"Then I will call you Will" Eleanor replied, Eleanor days ago let go of the serious way of thinking and decided to go with the flow with William.

William just smiles with Eleanor's response. He is surprised.

William smiles like he remembered something sad. The mood instantly died.

Eleanor became aware of his mood and suddenly felt sorry.

Maybe the name Will is something that reminds him of sad things.

Eleanor is getting ready to clean the dishes when William spoke.

"Elli, can you listen to my story?"

Eleanor is confused. She already thinks that their relationship is not too close but not also far.

William also guessed what is in Eleanor's mind.

Eleanor finished clearing the dishes and seat beside Will.

William initiated the story.

"Did you know when I reached 20 I should be going to be the marquis Larsen"

Eleanor didn't hear any happiness in his voice when he said that. He is also a noble no wonder even though he speaks so straightforward he still has the aura of a person who has been educated for so many years.

"Elli I'm a coward you know. I run because I'm afraid of responsibilities. I run so fast without looking in my back at what is happening to my family. I thought that If I run and became strong I will be able to go back but my cowardice gets better of me. Then when I return it is all gone. My family, my friends, and everything."

As Eleanor listen to William's story she couldn't help but smile.

William is devastated because of small cowardice.

There are many cowards in this world he is just unlucky thought Eleanor.

Unlike her who have all the chances in the world but failed in almost everything.

My Son, My Father, My Brother they all died because of me.

At least he became strong, I wonder what he meant by strong.

The almost crying William didn't get any comforting words or ridicule out of Eleanor. Instead what he got is a smile.

A sad smile. William knows that it isn't comforting but still he is relieved.

The day ends without any of them talking but most of the time William is looking at Eleanor.

He's looking like he found a savior.

Even though he knew that it is helpless he couldn't help but think positively.

William thought that as long Eleanor is with her he will be happy.

Another day passed and they already lack water.

They will die.

They can't even drink a glass of water.

Eleanor is sitting in the bar while Will is sitting at one of the customers' tables.

"Will" Eleanor's voice is soft but he can hear it.

William stood up and sit near her.

"Will I'm Eleanor Vivianne Arundell"

Will stare at her dumbfounded he originally thought that him being a marquis is already amazing but here he is staring at the sole daughter of the Arundell duchy.

Huh? Wait for what? Isn't she married to Mikhail Byron? Suddenly he felt some pain in his heart.

"I got almost crazy, neglect my son that soon killed him and create lots of trouble to my family the reason why Arundell duchy vanished and finally got thrown here in Delli"

Woah to much information.

William's look of surprise never vanished.

Then he laughs.

Haha.

The way Eleanor tells her story is so straightforward he wanted to laugh so hard. Did she get this straightforward way of speaking from him? The thought makes him happy.

"Elli you are special aren't you" William whispered as he patted Eleanor's head.

William like he got hit by a sudden realization smiled.

He has a chance to change the world.

Another day passed that they didn't eat or drink. Fatigue is getting hard to bear.

Eleanor worries because William didn't show at all. She came to William's room.

William is staring at her while he is sitting on the bed.

Eleanor stood at the door for a minute before William spoke.

"Elli, we are going to die let me tell you something"

Eleanor worried that William might be already getting emotionally tired and suddenly end his life came to his side.

"Will let me hear it," Eleanor said with a smile.

Will also gave a smile.

"Elli, do you remember when I said I became stronger? I trained in the kingdom of Arabella as a mage. I obtained the highest level that a mage in Arabella can have and decided to go back here to Carson but it is too late. Even though I'm the highest level mage I can't fight the demons here in Carson. Maybe the Empire of Arabella can fight the demons but there is no way they can bring back my family."

William is saying many things that Eleanor is amazed and worried at the same time.

What is he planning on doing?

Will hold Eleanor's hand as he said his next word.

"Elli there is magic in Arabella, the user can turn back the time for a person with all its memories intact in exchange for the magician's life, Elli I want you to go back and change the past" As William said these words a sudden light appeared in his hands and hugged Eleanor.

This surprises Eleanor. The light is warm and soothing but also scary.

"Will wait why me? Can't it be you? You didn't say that you can't go back why are you planning to bring me back" Eleanor said those words puzzled

"Elli I can't change the past, and I know better than anyone that you can do it" William mutter these words. He is determined.

William get a dagger in his pocket

"Elli treats this as my gift to you, you said you have a son right?"

As William said those words Eleanor stopped being puzzled by the situation.

She can turn back and change everything.

She smiled as she realized that she's greedy. She's still greedy. William also has a fair share of regrets.

She's disgusted by her mind that is happy that William chooses to turn her back.

"Will why are you trusting me, what if I do despicable things in the past" Eleanor whispered while she is in William's chest

William smiles.

"Elli I trust you, I know you can change the past and make a better future"

William stabbed Eleanor with the dagger. The obvious pain in Eleanor's face is making William's heart hurt but he can't stop.

Eleanor died and he continued the spell.

"Eleanor I love you, I think you will rush and say I'm delusional if you knew that I did this because of that reason"

After he finished the spell He killed himself with the same dagger he used to kill Eleanor.

"Let's meet again Elli" William whispered these words before he died.

[Arundel Estate year 538]

The sound of the baby crying echoed in the whole room.

"Lady Eleanor your son is healthy" A priest from the Light temple said as she blessed the small baby.

Eleanor is still confused but she remembered everything.

The baby in the Priest's hands is so small. This is her child. Charles.

"Charles" Eleanor whispered her son's name.

His father and brother rushed into the room as they knew that Eleanor finished giving birth

When Eleanor saw her father and brother her tears fall.

This startled the people in the room

"Vivianne is there anything that hurts? Why are you crying?" His father's soft voice continued to make her cry. So kind. Her father is so kind.

"Father, Brother I missed you," Eleanor said these words and gave each other a look of confusion.

What happened to his daughter?

What happened to his sister?

Is this the effect of giving birth?

The look of her father and brother make her so happy.

She's back.
