86 The Tower of The Twilight Lich (Part 4)

Zhang Fu's disciple didn't know how much time has passed and how much of that orb attack has he received from the twilight lich.

He managed to kill one of the clones with his spiritual spells. Because he could kill the one without golden shields, the despair calmed down a little. But, he took too many damages from the twilight scepter.

Blergh~

He spurts another mouthful of blood. "I'm sorry.. master! I can't finish my job.. I haven't even found the target and I have to die in here!" He felt that he was very unlucky. Why should he follow Su Ling. He was sure that she only played with him, knowing that she found out that he followed her to her Master's hideout.

Seeing the guy almost fainted, the twilight lich changed his weapon, from the twilight scepter to a golden sword. He teleported behind the guy, and then.. suddenly the surrounding atmosphere turned very cold and hectic. The twilight lich beheaded him without taking another glance, like any cold-blooded serial killers on their run.

The guy couldn't even say what's happening before he dies.

When Su Ling looked at it, she gulped. "He can change his weapon?!"

George nodded. "He also can use a sword too!"

Su Ling was terrified by what she just saw. "If he could use teleport while using sword.. won't it be very easy to assassinate us?!"

"Don't worry.. I think he only used the golden sword when he was very sure that he could kill us. Just see that guy! Why doesn't the twilight lich does that in the beginning?! Weird right?" It was very weird too, as the twilight lich using the golden sword is the third stage of this boss fight.

The first one being where the Twilight Lich spawns two skeletal minions, which look like copies of the Twilight Lich. Each of them has a Scepter of Twilight to cast Ender Pearl-like orbs projectiles. The Twilight Lich also uses the Scepter of Twilight function of its Omni-scepter in this phase of the battle. In the first stage, you can not directly damage the Twilight Lich: you will have to take down his shields first. It has 5 shields orbiting around it, and it takes quite some hit to destroy them. Melee or shoot him, or try to deflect his own projectiles back at him and it requires some timing. Reflecting his own projectile also destroys one shield each time.

Once all shields are destroyed, stage two begins. During stage two, the Twilight Lich spawns zombie minions, utilizing the Zombie Scepter function of his Omni-scepter. These minions will spawn with different kinds of vanilla armor. They gain more and more powerful armor as the fight progresses. usually with gold as the final tier of the stage. In stage two, the player must damage the Twilight Lich, either by shooting or melee, which triggers the Twilight Lich to initiate stage three of the Twilight Lich fight.

During stage three, when the player gets the Twilight Lich to only have three zombie minions attacking that player, the Twilight Lich will pull out a Gold Sword and start chasing the player and battle using a melee attack. It will still teleport when the player hits the Twilight Lich, though. Stage three's objective is to hit the Twilight Lich until it dies, at which point the Twilight Lich will drop it's loot. This can be difficult due to the Twilight Lich's tendency to teleport around the room and residual zombie minions.

So.. it was very weird to see the twilight lich using his final stage. But, George already thought of a plan to kill it easily!

Twilight Lich's shields are destroyed based on the number of attacks, not attack damage. It was the other way to destroy the Twilight Lich's golden shield of invincibility. This means you can also throw snowballs to destroy the shields. George's strategy all along is to throw snowballs until the golden shields dissapears.

And the reason why the disciple of Zhang Fu couldn't nullify the shield because the shields were rotating. And it was possible that he punched different shields each time he landed a hit, hence no shields dissapeared.

"Master! Look.. The clone dissapeared!" Su Ling pointed at the dissapeared twilight lich's clone. "Is it the correct time to launch an attack?!"

George nodded. "Let's go! Here, take these snowballs and throw them at the golden shield!" He bought a lot of snowballs for a few credits.

"Snowballs?! Why?!" She asked curiously.

"The truth behind those golden shields.. Don't you know?!" George asked.

She shook her head. She didn't know that at all. "They are destroyed based on the number of attacks, not attack damage!" George said.

She then narrowed her eyes in shock. "So.. what master meant... Snowballs could be considered as an 'attack'?! That's.. brilliant!"

George nodded "Okay.. let's try it! Here.. a few potions of swiftness.. Just in case something bad happened! What you need to do.. is evading it's attack while throwing the snowballs! It takes a few 'attack' before the shield broken down. And we need to be scattered, not grouped.. So the twilight lich will get confused by us."

With two people fighting the twilight lich, it would be easier than fighting it by himself.

George and Su Ling then ran to the last floor of the lich tower. George went to the right of the lich, while Su Ling ran to the left of the lich. The two of them began by throwing their snowballs to the golden shields.

Like what the lich have done earlier, he only stayed at the same place while he shot those ender pearl orb thingy from the twilight scepter.

From what they had seen, the twilight lich will make his clone after a while, so they have to throw the snowballs before he creates his clones. George also tried to deflect the orb thingy to destroy the golden shield. If he could do that, it will be way faster to destroy it.
