Chapter 27- Whispers

The group came to a medium sized village encased in a crescent moon shaped wall. The top of the wood post that make up the wall were sharpened to a point. In side were several cloth huts positioned along the wall.

In the middle was a giant fire pit surrounded by several tables filled with food. Behind the fire pit k n the very back was a hut that was much larger than the others. Tru also saw many Gons of different ages running around working tirelessly.

"Gorlo welcomes you to Green Gob Village!" The large being smiled as he ushered in Tru. After stepping inside a wooden gate closed shut behind them. Tru said nothing but observed each and every Gob that crossed his path.

Gorlo took note of his silence and became a bit nervous before continuing forward. "This here is Gorlo's and the Gobs home. It is not much but Gorlo is happy you joined him for tonight is a big deal."

Gorlo's stood there smiling awkwardly yet proudly as they continued through the back of the village. Tru looked up at Gorlo with a dead pan expression. "So…uh what exactly is supposed to be happening tonight? Also when can I you know…shower?"

"Ah yes Gorlo is sorry about the suspense but tonight is the Feast of the King. Our previous king has passed away and now it is time for Gobs to find new king. Gorlo's wishes to be king but as you can see Gorlo isn't exact a Gob.."

Gorlo's gained a soft and sad expression that slightly pained Tru to see it. Nevertheless he steeled his heart and left Gorlo be. Soon after a short yet beautiful Gob by Gon standards showed up smiling brightly in from of Gorlo.

"Hi Gorlo! I'm glad you made it back safely,

. Oh! and who is tjis human with you? Surely it's not your Kingly Offering?" She wore a slightly disappointed expression as Gorlo turned a bright red.

He waved his hands in protest before scratching his head sheepishly. "No no Angr, Gorlo would never. This here is Gorlo's guest uh…" he looked towards Tru who folded his arms and rolled his eyes. He sighed deep before stepping forward towards Angr.

He held out his right hand in order to get a handshake and broke out into a friendly smile. "Hi I'm Tru , nice to meet you!" . Angr took his hand when she noticed the Black Bracelet on his wrist. Greed quickly filled her eyes and vanished as she returned the smile.

"Yes how could Gorlo forget your name! Yes Gorlo is very sorry but this is Gorlo's guest for the king festival. Gorlo had accidentally stolen his kill while long for his Kingly Offering. So to make up Gorlo has invited him for the feast."

"Ah yes I see. Well welcome Tru I hope you enjoy your time because this is the greatest Gob festival of a life time. Sorry to say hi and run but Angrudt take her leave." She bowed and scurried off to a group of Gobs.

The all looked rough and unmannered as if they were thugs in Gob form. Though one kn particular stood out. This one was a little large than the gobs in size and height and had a white Mohawk. Over his left eye was a deep gash and he carried as foul look upon his face.

Tru eyed him for a minute when he felt a sharp presence of Geo magical energy. He looked over and saw Gorlo's energy leaking out slowly as the latter stared at the former. He looked as if he could rip his apart right then. The white Mohawk Gob just looked over and gave Gorlo's a slick smirk and wrapped his arms around Angr disappearing into a hut.

"Eeennnnnnd hiiim"

Tru heard a soft yet angry whisper that sounded of a woman and looked around but saw nothing besides huts and Gorlo. The voice rang in his ears causing him to become slightly irritated.

He grabbed at his head at the feeling grew and eventually subsided. He looked around and saw Gorlo still staring in anger when he came to his senses.

Seeming them vanish caused Gorlo to once again be saddened and his magical energy disappeared. Tru walked over and patted him on the back causing him to snap back to normal.

"Sorry about that Gorlo…*sigh*…nevermind let's just go an see Chief Rye. After Gorlo will show you where you will be staying." Said Gorlo as they made their way to the giant hut in the back of the village.

Tru entered the hut and inside was not what he had imaged. There was nothing inside besides a wooden throne and a giant skeleton posted behind it. Besides the throne was a small elderly Gob dressed in a shaggy brown robe.

The elderly Gob was supported by a small wooden cane. He brandish a large smile when he saw Gorlo come in. "Gorlo welcome back!" He spoke with a raspy voice.

"This Gob can assume you have brought back your Kingly Offering after being gone for so long?" The elderly Gob eyed Gorlo which the latter tried to hide his embarrassment.

"No Chief Rye Gorlo did not. I had went a bit overboard and slayed it. Gorlo will get one don't worry. But Gorlo has brought guest with him, Chief Rye this is Tru." Gorlo stepped aside as the elderly Gob eyed Tru.

He looked him up and down when his eyes landed upon Shadow sleeping. He said nothing but smiled at him. "Welcome Tru I hope Gorlo didn't do you any harm. He can be a bit oblivious at times but he's a good boy."

Gorlo became red at the Chief's words while the latter gave him a warm smile. The chief then turned back to Tru when his eyes dropped to the Black Bracelet. He stood there wide eyed for a brief second when his face returned back to normal.

Tru casted a suspicious look as he tried to cover the bracelet with his sleeve. "Is everything ok Chief?" asked Tru. The chief silently answered with and embarrassed smile before bowing in apology.

"My mistake young guest." spoke the old Gob. "I wasn't intending to be rude or stare just that bracelet looked familiar but I'm sure it's just nothing. Though please let Gorlo show you to where you'll be staying, I'm sure you've had a long day and need rest."

"Heeee'sss a liiiiaaaarrrr"

The angry whispering sounded again yet this time it made Tru's heart beat quickly. He felt a fire light from deep inside him causing his blood to boil. The Black Bracelet became warm as his heart beat quicker and harder.

He felt as if he was burning up from the inside and found it difficult to swallow let alone breathe. The suffocating feeling vanished as quickly as it came, brief but felt like a lifetime to Tru. He coughed softly into his hand before looking around the room.

"Gorlo blesses you" softly whispered Gorlo as he patted him on the back. An awkward silence ensued as the trio stood there quietly. The old Gob cleared his throat before nodding to Gorlo and Tru.

Chief Rye then quickly left the throne room as Gorlo and Tru stood there in brief silence. Gorlo then turned towards Tru who quickly was leaving out the room. Gorlo ran behind him and quickly caught up.

"Is everything ok?" asked Gorlo who looked concerned as he gazed upon Tru's face. Tru's complexion was pale and sweat fell Ike rain from his face. He forced a weak smile as the burning feeling came back.

"Buuuuuurn the village. Set fiiiire to it all!"

"No!" desperately yelled Tru, his voice sounded deep and distorted causing Gorlo to step back. Gorlo said nothing but raised his hands in defeat before pointing a nearby hut.

"Maybe Gorlo pushed too hard, the hut there is for you to stay while you're here. Let Gorlo know if you need him for anything. Gorlo will come find you later." softly spoke the large giant and he turned and walked away.

Tru's vision became blurry but he count faintly make out the outline of Gorlo's retreat. He stumbled as he made his way to the hut. Once he was inside he collapsed soon as he entered.

Not long after Tru woke up to see he was surrounded by pitch black darkness. He looked around and could se eno further than his hand. He panicked as he fumbled around searching for a way out.

He held his hands in front of him but felt nothing as he continued forward. EventuLly he began to see a small flame in the distance and headed towards it. The flame getting bigger and warmer as he went towards it.

Though to his surprise as the flame came into view it was not just a singular flame. It was a six large pillars of fire lined into a row and besides them a few feet away were another ton of six pillars.

In between the pillars, planted firmly in the darkness was a white throne. Upon the throne sat a beautiful red skinned woman. Her hair was deep black like the darkness that surrounded them. Her eyes glowed a soft amber but watched him like a predator.

She wore red plated armor covered in spikes and scratches from battle. To the left of the throne sat a small table with a golden goblet on it. Inside the goblet Tru could see a blood red liquid inside.

Though he wasn't asked nor commanded Tru continued toward the woman on the throne. Much to his surprise she had a slightly eerie looking smile plastered in her face. In addition to her eyes, he felt as if he walked into the lair of a dangerous beast.

"So, you've finally decided to show your face to me."
