29 The Banquet

Yun Che accompanied Xia Yuanba into the New Moon Profound Palace. The Young Yun quite easily passed the requirements. With Xia Yuanba's word, a few days ago, it started to carry more worth than gold. 

It was easy for the next Heretic God to become a member of Profound Palace.

After dressing in new robes, the pair were walking in one of the corridors, and Yun Che quickly noticed how famous Xia Yuanba was. 

It's like the sea is splitting in half and all the students allow themselves to pass, no word is needed from the burly Xia. It was automatic by this point.

Though only Yun Che and Jasmine noticed this, Xia Yuanba himself is ignorant of this.

Sure enough, the Duo and a ghost arrived at one of the remote pavilions.

The ex-Xiao immediately noticed a large Profound Beast eating another Profound Beast, this thing looked similar to a dragon, however, it didn't have wings and it was more like a lizard than a Dragon.

"A late Earth Profound Beast, it appears it's another Contracted beast of your older brother." Jasmine casually mentioned that. The comment about Xiao Tian Long being an 'older brother' slightly pissed Yun Che off.

"This is Brother-in-Law Contracted beast, it's docile unless it's ordered otherwise." Xia Yuanba quite proudly explained. 

While the Next Heretic God sweatdropped for a bit, if only his burly brother knew that Sword Sovereign had an Emperor Profound beast… the younger Xia would behave like a small boy high on sugar… 

This beast is not bad either, however it doesn't have that majesty of Fire Dragon which the ex-Xiao saw not long ago.

Eventually, the trio saw a sight that made Yun Che slightly frown in jealousy, he saw Xiao Tian Long tutoring a beautiful girl in swordsmanship while another two were standing not far looking at this curiously. 

He recognized those two, one of them was Xia Qingyue who looked even more beautiful than he remembers while the other one was no less beautiful either.

Seeing such sights makes Yun Che want to have a harem of beauties of his own! This is why he wants to train! To train and surpass his brother!

"Brother-in-law! Look who I found wandering in the streets!" Xia Yuanba got the attention of the trio of females and the Sword Sovereign.

"Oh! Isn't my wayward brother? How have you been Yun Che?" Xiao Tian Long's words made the female whom he has been instructed slightly curious, she was wondering who this guy is.

"Cang Yue met my adopted brother Yun Che, he recently fixed his veins and started to cultivate, as you can see he is already in Nascent Profound in less than a year." 

The girl by the name of Cang Yue slightly had a shocked look.

"As expected from your family, dear! Everyone in your family is a monster!" 

Once again Yun Che grimaced internally, Xiao Tian Long didn't do shit but he got praised for it!

While the Next Heretic God is suffering, Jasmine had a sour look on her doll-like face. She doesn't like how these females are growing around Sword Sovereign! The prettier they are the more she is reminded about that certain blonde bitch.

"Yun Che you arrived on time, Today there is an event held by the Profound Palace, you could get a good amount of sparing experience if you want. Later on, you can come with us to the capital, Cang Yue could easily enrol you into the Blue Wind Profound Palace; their resources would help you to get stronger." 

The red-haired beauty's eyes sparkled when she heard that she swiftly floated over to her host side.

"Accept it! Resources gained from the capital of an Empire would accelerate your growth quite a bit!" The Star God Princess said with a heated tone.

Internally Yun Che sighed as if he could complain about that. He simply accepts it just to make Jasmine get off his back.

"Fine, I don't truly have any plans either way." His quite dismissive attitude made the woman standing next to Xia Qingyue frown quite a bit. She doesn't truly like him.

"Good, it would be a good experience, what do you think my darling, Princess?" Xiao Tian Long hugged Cang Yue from behind.

'Princess? Is this girl a Princess?' Yun Che thought with a curious look.

"...if this is what you want, the more talent represents my family the better." The black-haired Princess agreed with a bashful look.

"Good, besides you will be getting not bad resources, The Sword Villa is the host of the tournament, if you gain a high place you can get not bad rewards." 

"...Sword Sovereign is right, while each tournament the rewards wary, they are all great." Cang Yue said that while trying to pretend that she doesn't get cuddled at this moment.

"I see… I suppose it's a good tournament." 

'It's a good tournament to show off that I am just as good as Xiao Tian Long!' 

While Yun Che was thinking about how he will be able to show off, Jasmine was thinking about how great of a brother is Xiao Tian Long! The moment he meet his brother he already got him a spot in Profound Palace in the capital and a spot in the tournament with great rewards!

'Why does he even dislike him? I have no idea… It's probably that stupid men mentality my mother talked about…'  Jasmine internally thought about this with a frown. She can't understand these men sometimes.

~~~~~~Later Same Night~~~~~~ 

The banquet to celebrate the inauguration of the new Palace Chief of New Moon Profound Palace was going as planned. The event was scheduled before Xiao Tian Long arrived.

Because it was scheduled the Sword Sovereign allowed it to continue even if they planned to leave. After all, the new leader of the Profound Palace is Cang Yue's bodyguard. 

So they will leave the next day. The whole banquet had no purpose.

At first, that is, now the event has a purpose. 

Xiao Tian Long decided to use this event to see how good his little brother is. He wants to see in person the Heretic God Hax, those seven extra Profound entrances, and the power they hold.

As expected because of Sword Sovereign's existence the event got out of proportion. 

All the second and third-rate sects tried to bribe their way into the banquet, and the branch Xiao Sect decided to come in force, with the Branch Master leading the front.

As everyone was gathering for the event, Qin Wuyou, the new Palace Chief, not that he is going to be one for long, for now, the bodyguard of Cang Yue is pretending to care about his new position.

*Gossip Eruption* 

The crowd exploded with their conversations as Xiao Tian Long with his group entered the Event Hall, his Sixth of Emperor Profound cultivation washed everyone up. Making them all feel insignificant and weak. 

None of them ever felt anything like this… Emperor Profound is a realm they only heard in stories, not even Branch Leaders of Great Sects ever meet one! 

So for one to arrive at such a simple event was a lifetime opportunity.

"Who are those two? Why are they with Sword Sovereign?" One of the visiting elders asked with a whispering tone. He can understand beautiful women circling the Xiao Clan Young Master like a moon circling the planet, it was natural after all.

But those two weaklings? Who are they?

"They are not that simple, the tall one is Sword Sovereign's brother-in-law and the other one is his adopted brother." one of the other elders said quietly.

Nodding at these words, the elder had a thoughtful look. So they were not some sort of people he picked up randomly. It was quite sad. As he would have tried to push his disciple to get the Strongest Cultivator's attention.

As Xiao Tian Long's group arrived the trio was given the seat of honour, while the disciples of the Palace still needed to sit with other students. However, everyone knows the faces of people they can't provoke.

"Sword Sovereign, it's an honour to meet you in person, I am Xiao Sect New Moon Branch Master Xiao Tiannan, if you need anything don't hesitate to ask." The middle aged man introduced himself.

The Xiao Clan's Young Master noticed that almost the entire top brass of this branch sect was there, they are no doubt here to curry favours with him.

This Branch Master's cultivation was slightly weaker than his darling wife who is close to having her breakthrough to Eight of Earth Profound. 

He could only smile thinking how quickly his darling is growing in strength.

"It is, I wasn't expecting to meet Xiao Sect representatives in such a small town. It is a pleasure to meet my distant cousins." As Xiao Tian Long was speaking his senses were on Yun Che who was looking at Branch Xiao Sect members with some distaste. 

'Right… His classic Chinese mentality, offend me and I will get back at you a hundred times more fiercely.' 

'"Hohoho, the pleasure is all mine, the Xiao name has become the Gold standard throughout the Profound Sky Continent." The man was genuinely happy about the current situation of his Sect and clan.

"Yes, well, I wasn't trying to make it so, you could say it's a consequence of me trying hard to survive when everyone wants to kill me." Xiao Tian Long said that with a slightly reminiscing tone. When Xia Qingyue heard that she slightly squeezed his hand more.

The beauty forgot about the times he was not that powerful, the times when he needed to cultivate hard…

Sword Sovereign didn't even realise that he got himself a snuggling session after the whole event is done.

Who knew that he needed to say a few sentences and would get himself comfortably cuddled by his ladies?

"Yes, we followed your journey closely, I doubt anyone thanked you for cleansing the continent of those filthy deviant sects." 

And so the ass-kissing began and the Sword Sovereign ended up zoning out while hugging his wife. His actions earned a bunch of jealous looks as he had a pair of beauties. 

Some of them even realised that the other girl he was having close to himself was Frozen Beauty, which once again earned him several awes.

Soon enough the event, the banquet started, toasts were being said, and the main part which is the fights between the disciples of the seven main sects of New Moon City and the New Moon Profound Palace started.

Because of Xiao Tian Long, the seven sects decided to go easy on New Moon Profound Palace.

The first match was between a kid from Profound Heart Sect and Li Huo from New Moon Profound Palace.

Unlike the canon, Xuan Yu from Profound Heart Sect only smacked the kid out of the ring. Winning quite easily.

The end of this fight made the elders of the New Moon Profound Palace quite embarrassed, they lost their faces right in front of Sword Sovereign himself.

"Hmm, this won't do. Brother! Your cultivation is similar to this kid, why don't you face him?" The Young Master of Xiao Clan's voice spread through the Event Hall. 

Yun Che cursed his name for a bit, why so early!? Don't they have some quality people!? He wanted to steal the thunder at the end of this event!

While Yun Che was getting on the stage, everyone was confused for a bit, so Xiao Tian Long decided to explain.

"My adopted brother just recently, less than a year ago fixed his Profound veins and he is at the Early Stages of Nascent Profound. I think combat experience would be a good thing for him."

Everyone dumbly looked at the kid standing on the stage, he reached that stage in less than a year!? What is with this family full of freaks!?

And so another, the fight started, well fight is a strong word as Yun Che smacked the guy out of the ring the same way he smacked Li Huo out before. Returning the favour.

'So vindictive… He has only been a member of the Profound Palace for a day and he is already taking revenge for them…' 

The Sword Sovereign quickly noticed that part about his little brother.
