7 Solidifying Sovereignty

The black knives did their work. Now it was time to appoint a diplomat. I did say I'll send one.

I have the perfect person in mind. Good Kenneth Haight. The noble lord has the education, the temperament, and isn't the type to be bullied. I'll assign a few knights and wizards to escort him while he is on his duties.

I summon Lord Haight from the Lands Between, making him appear me in a moment. Apparently I caught him as he was eating. He plopped on the ground with a chicken leg in his hand and a wine goblet in the other. He looks at me in surprise and quickly stands up. He chucks the chicken leg away, throws his goblet aside, uses quick cleaning magic and finally does a formal bow.

He greets me as he bows, "My Lord, I am honored to have been summoned by you. How may I, Lord Kenneth Haight, be of service?"

I chuckle, "I apologize for catching you as you were eating. I summoned you as I need a diplomat in this new world I've come to. You would be my voice and my will here. The one I charge with communicating with the world leaders and their diplomats. As I find having to deal with a bunch of mortals all the time...annoying. Especially these mortals. Would you like the position?"

Lord Haight says excitedly, "I will gladly take up the position of diplomat. It would be the highlight of my life to deal with the world leaders on your behalf. To be the instrument of your voice and will is the greatest honor and most noble act I'll ever do."

I send Lord Haight on his way and order his escort to go to him. I'll send him along with the UN diplomat.

Sometime later....

The diplomat has returned. Heroes still tagged along. I had Kenneth Haight by my throne with his escort detail.

"Here is my diplomat, Lord Kenneth Haight. He will be returning with you to the UN. Where he will relay my will. He has authority to make official decisions for me. As I sense everything he can sense, and can communicate with him.", I say to them.

Antoine Toussaint responds, "We'll make sure to properly escort him and make sure his has appropriate lodging. Along with his escort."

I warn, "These are Leyndell Knights and Sorcerers of Raya Lucaria. They are no simple guards. Each are masters of their profession. They have decades of combat experience with fantastical and nightmarish enemies. Do not make light of them. Lord Haight will also be laying out all the finer details of the laws and policies of the Divine Isle."

"I understand, they will all be treated very well. I will also confer with Lord Haight on those matters.", Antoine Toussaint says with a little sweat.

Black Canary speaks up, "I apologize for my rudeness earlier. The League wanted to know if it'll be possible to be able to operate on your land?"

I laugh, "The League is not authorized to operate on my land. I have my own law enforcers. Instead, the League should warn their villains. For here, death may come to them without them even knowing how they died. No one is allowed on the island without diplomatic cause or permission after all. I've already taken care of some pests that stowed away on your ships."

Wonder Woman questions, "Who are these pests you speak of?"

I grin, "Who they were doesn't matter. There were no important names among them anyways. Just know, they were dispatched with ease. Their bodies sent to my necromancers to extract information from their souls. Now, I wish you all a safe trip back."

The heroes and diplomat said nothing but goodbyes. Lord Haight did do a proper goodbye and followed after them.

Giving them that tidbit about extracting information from souls will scare them a bit. How are they supposed to protect their souls of information extraction? It isn't like the modern countries have court wizards anymore. Hell, magic is scarce here really. There's no Hogwarts or Kamar-Taj here. Only the Atlanteans have a magic curriculum. They're Homo Magi though, so they have the bloodline talent for it.

Now that all the official business is out of the way. I can play around a little. If I remember, they're a few godforsaken places in DC that could use some divine intervention. Take Bialya for example, or Kandaq. Black Adam may make a fine subordinate for me. I just got to beat him down a little. As for Queen Bee, I'm unsure if she could be useful. I'll find out after I kick her ass off her shabby throne.

I'll get some dragons too. Show the world what a real ruler looks like.

Been a while, but I've been focusing on my originals and Star Wars fic. Just haven't had the time to write this one in a while. Enjoy.
