13 13) Mary

Vasili

With my head resting against Edwards chest I did not know how to feel. His arms around me felt so natural and warm, as if he was always meant to hold me like this. The rapid beating of his heart matched my own frantic one. I had no idea what possessed me to go through with all those actions. A part of me blamed the beers I had been drinking, but two cans could not make me drunk enough to agree to whatever that was.

I was pretty confident Edward was not drunk since he barely drank the last few weeks. I chose to blame the movie, watching something like that could tempt you to do many things.

"That was a mistake," I sighed then nuzzled against his body.

"I'm sorry. It was so wrong," he apologized over and over again. Even though we both kept on telling each other it was so wrong and to never do it again, we still held each other. His hand tracing patterns on my back with mine gently trailing on his chest. I knew I was straight, but being with Edward felt so painfully right. "Vasili?"

"Mmm," I hummed then looked up to him. His blue and hazel eyes looked frightened as he looked into mine. He looked so pale I worried he was sick.

"Ed what's wrong?" I asked sitting up still on his lap.

He opened his mouth to say something, but the ringing of my phone threw us both off. I went over to retrieve my phone which was on the other couch. My heart dropped when I saw it was Mary. I had completely forgotten about her. Guilt washed over me and I felt sick to my stomach.

"Hi Mary," my throat felt awfully dry and it literally felt like all the blood in my body had been drained.

"Vasili, how are you love?" she spoke in Russian clearly excited to talk to me. I felt awful. I felt disgusting to say the least, one thing I never did was cheat and I practically had with Edward.

"I'm fine, how are you?" I answered back in Russian since I did not want him to hear our conversation.

"Oh I miss you so much. I was wondering if I could come and visit tomorrow I have a week off work so maybe we could spend time together. Things have been so lonely without you," she sounded close to tears as she spoke. Mary and I had always been together, we knew each other before we started dating and even then we were close. Even on tour I would be away for a few weeks and come back, but now it was stretching onto two months.

"I miss you too," it felt so wrong for me to say that when she barely had entered my mind when I was with Edward, "I could ask Edward if I could work from home whilst you are over." His head snapped up to look at me from the sound of his name. His eyebrows were furrowed and he clenched his jaw.

"That would be wonderful Vasili! I love you so much," she blew multiple kisses over the phone.

"I love you too," I replied. The words felt wrong, if only she knew how much I had betrayed her she would never forgive me. We said our goodbyes and I had not even noticed how clammy my hands felt from sweat.

"You know I perfectly understand Russian now," Edwards voice broke me out of my state of panic.

"What?"

"I've been learning and you have the week off," the words seemed a bit bitter coming from his mouth. He looked calm, but there was a storm of emotions in his eyes.

"I hope you don't..."

"It's your girlfriend Vas of course I don't mind. Any who I'm off to bed and sorry again about what happened. I guess I was just horny," he had a smile on his face, but his words literally cut like a knife. Before I could reply he walked out the theatre. How could he be so warm and caring then turn around and be so cold and menacing?

I stood there for minutes just thinking everything over. Would I tell Mary about what happened or just keep it to myself? There was a possibility if I told her, she would tell Yavok and that could end badly. I did not want a repeat of the past. Maybe if I spoke with Edward we could clarify things and we could just not be so awkward. It would help me feel a lot less guilty.

That was when I made the trip to the top floor and very nervously knocked on his door.

"Come in," he called out. I opened the door and closed it behind me. I did not spot Edward anywhere in his apartment sized bedroom till he came out of the bathroom. His waist was wrapped with a black towel and it was clear he had just come out of the shower. Even though I saw him shirtless all the time this was different.

I could not tear my eyes away from his ripped body and the drop of water that ran down his abs to disappear into the towel. "Stop staring," he teased and walked into his closet. From where I was standing I could not see him and I was thankful when he came back wearing a pair of shorts and a vest.

"Could we talk?" I asked throwing myself on his couch. Okay I seriously needed to stop doing that.

"About?" he questioned sitting on his bed and facing me. I looked at him like he was the biggest idiot I knew. He was one of those 'I will avoid a problem till it is no longer a problem' types. "About what happened downstairs?" he literally acted like it was nothing at all.

"Yes. What was that?" I stood up frustrated he was not taking this seriously.

"Look I'm not gay," he said it pointedly and gave me a look that indicated he thought otherwise of me.

"Are you trying to say I'm gay!" I yelled my blood practically boiling.

"You kissed me back in Russia if that doesn't scream it than I don't know what does," he shrugged.

"You fucking asshole," my fists were now balled up and Edward seemed to notice. He stood up and placed himself right in front of me. I was tall, but he was taller meaning I had to look up slightly to stare him in the eye.

"Calm down Vas. Your little girlfriend Mary won't ever find out, you have my word. Why are you still here anyway shouldn't you be at your penthouse preparing roses and chocolates for Mary?" the way he said Mary was like she was one of the most disgusting things on earth.

"You have a problem with my girlfriend or something?" I took a step closer as we sized each other up.

"No I have a problem with you," he stepped forward till we were chest to chest. I felt my anger flare at an alarming rate and for whatever reason instead of connecting my fist with his face. My lips met his. He did not even take a second of hesitation as he kissed me back. There was something so different about kissing someone whilst you were angry. It did not feel loving or delicate instead like you were trying to kill each other in the best way possible.

I wrapped my arms around his neck as he lifted me up from the ground. My legs were wrapped around his waist and soon we descended down on the bed together. "You are a dick," I growled as he sucked my neck.

"Well you're an arse," he snapped back roughly pulling off my shirt. I returned the gesture before we lay back down with nothing, but our shorts. We were both painfully hard as we made out constantly flipping and turning. It felt like we had made out for half an hour from how heavy we were breathing. Edward finally moved off me and lay down beside me as we both looked up to the ceiling.

"Maybe we are just one of those friends who just show their appreciation of friendship in a different way," I breathed out.

Edward now looked at me like I was the biggest idiot in the world as he lay on his side to face me. His lips were red and slightly swollen, his hair a mess from my fingers running through it. He looked so irresistible. "Do you really think after all of that, that normal male friends just make out and jerk each other off?" I hated how obnoxious he sounded with his British accent when he was all sarcastic, but it still sent tingles down my spine whenever I heard him speak.

"What? Are you saying we are gay or something?" the very thought made my heart hammer in my chest.

"Definitely not. I could not be caught dead kissing another man," he scoffed.

"Then we are not gay, we just simply enjoy each others company in different ways," I think we both knew we were spewing shit, but whatever helped would work.

"Any way it's all over. This was a onetime thing. Plus Mary will be here tomorrow so stop looking so damn guilty," he smiled. This time it looked genuine and helped me calm down.

"Surely it doesn't count as cheating if it is with a male right," again with the lies. He simply nodded before switching off the lights and climbing into bed.

"Night Vas," he whispered.

"Night Ed," even in the darkness he seemed to still find my lips, the kiss was so gentle and feather like I was shocked Edward could ever be capable of being tender.

I cuddled into his body with his arms wrapped around me and drifted off to sleep. The last thought on my mind was 'I'm not gay'. Even though I knew in my heart being with Edward felt so right.

I stood at the arrival terminal extremely nervous. This morning with Edward felt so normal waking up in his arms. We shared breakfast and even though we were both dancing around each other he could not help, but press a kiss against my lips before I left. Even though I was waiting for Mary all I could think about was Edward. I did not feel guilty, but I did not feel okay. I did not know how to feel it was just too much for me to process right now.

Her plane had landed fifteen minutes ago so I knew anytime now I would see her walking out with the bright smile she always had. Just like I had suspected five minutes later I noticed the flash of red hair and there she was. She wore a beautiful yellow sundress that had white flowers sewn onto it. Her hair was up in a little bun and she had pink lipgloss. She never really wore makeup and that was the many things I loved about her. She was always so natural.

Her eyes searched the crowd till I lifted my hand to gain her attention. I had no idea how she failed to notice me since I practically towered over most of the people here and I had probably the whitest hair known to mankind.

When her eyes landed on me, a huge beautiful smile spread on her lips and all the worries I had completely disappeared. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She practically skipped to my direction with her rose pink wheel bag and jumped into my arms. I spun her around and kissed her softly. Her lips always tasted so wonderful like sweets probably because she always had some hard candy with her so it was no surprise.

"I missed you so much," she beamed and quickly kissed me again.

"Me too. Come on let's get you home and we can go out for a romantic lunch," I wiggled my eyebrows.

"You're the best Vasi," she kissed my cheek again and held my hand.

Only if she knew.

"So how have things been with Edward?" we were at a cute café I knew Mary would love, enjoying lunch. When she mentioned Edward I felt the blood drain from my body. "That bad huh?" she giggled probably taking my facial expression for something negative.

"No actually he can just be a bit difficult," I gave her a weak smile. Last night he was not difficult at all.

She nodded and took a few more bites of her food, "I would love to see him some time. Maybe we should invite him over for dinner tonight."

"No!" my loud outburst caught a few people's attention and I apologetically smiled at them, "I mean no, he is such a busy man and always has so much going on."

"Well that's unfortunate maybe next time," Mary was literally killing me. She always had such kind intentions and a big heart. A part of me was afraid if she and Edward met I would not be able to take it and just spill everything out to her. I knew she would be heartbroken, but lying to her felt so much worse.

As if my life could not get any worse there was a commotion outside the café. Both Mary and I looked to the door and I wished the floor could open up and swallow me whole. There stood Edward in a very expensive maroon suit with a tiny woman next to him. Her skin was light caramel like his, she had long curly hair that looked like a mane and hazel eyes. Immediately I recognized her as his sister, Amanda.

There were photographers outside snapping pictures of them as they entered the café. Amanda was gorgeous and was dressed in a black pencil skirt, a white blouse with red heels. From what I could tell she was telling Edward a very long story by how bored and tired he looked. When he finally did look up he saw us immediately. His eyes enlarged and he quickly whispered something to Amanda whose gaze fell on us.

She gave us a smile, but I could tell it was menacing. She said something to Edward and his face flushed. He snapped back and she simply rolled her eyes before taking his hand and dragging him to our table. I felt my heart race and I just wanted to fly out the window. This was going to be horrible.

"Hello you two," Amanda smiled, I stood up to shake her hand and so did Mary. "It's very nice to meet you Vasili I've heard so much about you," Edward gave her a death glare and in that moment I knew he told her. Kill me now. "And Mary you are so beautiful my soul. Vasili here is a lucky man."

"It's so lovely to meet you Mrs. Agassi you are just an inspiration," Mary praised her. She always liked Amanda and continuously hoped she would have the opportunity to interview her one day so I could imagine how she was feeling right now.

"Please call me Amy. Eddie why are you so quiet?" she teased him.

He grumbled something under his breathe before plastering on a fake smile, "Nice to see you again Mary," the man sounded like he was in pain. Mary barely noticed because she did not know him well enough to know when he was irritated.

"Same to you Edward. Vasili and I were just talking about you," his eyes snapped to look at me, but quickly moved away, "I asked him to ask you if you would like to join us for dinner tonight, but he said you are always so busy."

"Actually yes I had plans with Am..."

Amanda cut him off and put her hand on his chest, "Oh Eddie you can reschedule. I'm here for a whole month."

"But..."

"No buts I'm sure it would make Vasili extremely happy if you joined him," her eyes met mine and I saw a glimmer of manipulation. I slowly nodded completely caught in a trance by her eyes. "Lovely! Any who, excuse us I could eat a whole cow. Hope to see you soon." We said our goodbyes as they went to their own private area. I noticed Edward snap at his sister who was laughing so hard I was afraid she was going to pass out.

"Vas? You okay? You look like you are going to pass out," Mary asked worriedly reaching over and pressing her hand on my forehead.

"Uh no I'm okay. Just nervous about meeting Amanda."

"She's amazing isn't she!" Mary continued talking about whatever she was talking about, but my eyes were focused behind her. To the man in a perfect maroon suit and an even better face. He must have felt my eyes because he looked back at me and gave me a small smile.

What the hell had I gotten myself into?
