Gong Shen

"I should check on Gong Shen." Ling Tian said to himself with his arms behind his back.

Ling Tian pulled out a mirror that showed what Gong Shen was currently doing in real-time.

Right now, everyone was at the location of the Divine Enlightenment Pagoda. A miniature version of the Divine Enlightenment Pagoda was currently on a piece of stone slab on a pillar.

The Divine Enlightenment Pagoda looked like an ancient old pagoda with yellow cracks in it that looked like pulsing veins that every once in a while, released enlightenment qi.

"My name is Du Liao, I am the young master of the Du Clan and I ask that everyone allow me to have the Divine Enlightenment Pagoda. Of course, I will hand out rewards accordingly." A young man dressed in a red-colored, dragon embroidered robe had his arms behind his back.

"The Du Clan!" Everyone whispered.

The Du Clan was one of the top clans of Blue Heaven Star, although they were only the second strongest family clan, they were without a doubt still very strong and influential.

"Really? You think with your strength that you can obtain this legendary treasure?" A young man that had gold-colored robes and a handsome face stepped out with confidence.

"It's the young master of the Long Clan, known for their dragon techniques, he is also apart of the Azure Dragon Sect!"

Du Lao looked to his left angrily at the Long Clan member, "Long Tao, we are the same cultivation stage and you dare to be so arrogant? My Du Clan is the strongest at fire techniques and I'm a disciple of the Fire King Sect, just below the Azure Dragon Sect, we're similar in strength!"

They were both core disciples at the Core Formation realm and were similar in strength. Du Lao pulled out a saber and Long Tao pulled out his spear.

"Take my Blue Flame Execution!" Du Lao sliced down with blue flames dancing around his saber and cut down with explosive force.

Long Tao parried but the fire caught onto his body, he realized he underestimated his opponent and was too carried away by his previous success in his skills.

"Tch. You're good but take my Golden Dragon Spear!" Long Tao thrust forward to pierce Du Tao but only grazed him at the side.

They both backed off and realized that they were pretty much equally matched. However, they didn't stop, they were both hot-blooded youths and wanted to win, so they called on their subordinates and fought it out.

In the back, Gong Shen was watching intently, waiting for the opportune moment to strike and grab the Divine Enlightenment Pagoda.

He stealthily activated his movement art to blend in with his environment in the forest and jumped from tree to tree, getting closer to the Divine Enlightenment Pagoda under the rest of everyone else's noses.

He was right next to it and grabbed it quickly and was about to dash away when the alarm sounded.

There was actually a formation that made a large, blaring noise that alerted everyone that was fighting.

Gong Shen still dashed away but was much slower than the rest as he was only at Foundation Establishment 8th stage, while the rest were a whole cultivation realm above him.

"A Foundation Establishment realm brat dares to try and steal the Divine Enlightenment Pagoda?!" Du Lao shouted and dashed towards Gong Shen.

There was not a lot of distance between Gong Shen and Du Lao because Du Lao was at a much higher cultivation level, meaning he could get to where Gong Shen was running from quicker.

Everyone else, plus the bystanders, followed suit and chased Gong Shen since the Divine Enlightenment Pagoda was their goal all along.

If they could give that to their sect, they could become a core disciple or even become a direct disciple of an elder. They would even get a lot of valuable resources to aid in their cultivation.

Gong Shen did not really know that Ling Tian was above the Martial Emperor realm, although he was stronger than the average Martial Emperor, Gong Shen did not really think much of it since he was ignorant of higher cultivation levels since he was not apart of a sect or organization that would give him vital information about everything.

Du Lao finally caught up and slashed towards Gong Shen but he sidestepped. However, the cultivation difference was too much and Gong Shen wasn't able to completely dodge.

His right arm was cut off and fell to the ground. Gong Shen winced with pain but still kept moving.

"I have to do something or else I will die!" Gong Shen roared and formed a prosthetic arm made out of bow qi. He tightly gripped the bow with his left hand and the bowstring with his right and summoned over 80 percent of his true qi to fire an arrow.

The arrow that was fired was a big arrow that had massive amounts of true qi in it. However, that was not it, the arrow was suddenly brimming with Bow Dao and light.

Gong Shen reached an epiphany and obtained enlightenment, his Bow Dao increased significantly under the life-and-death situation.

"I am the bow, and the bow is me!" Gong Shen said with glowing eyes, his prosthetic arm made of bow qi made another authentic arm.

"I will make the bow become me!" His whole body was shining in a golden, flashing light.

The arrow's power was fully maximized and shot forwards, leaving a massive trail of dust, blood, corpses, and more.

Gong Shen limped away quickly with the remainder of his qi, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.

He kept murmuring, "I am the bow, and the bow is me, I shall shoot through the cosmos and beyond, I am Gong Shen, the Bow Emperor!"

He did not notice that the Divine Enlightenment Pagoda had slowly entered his body through the skin and floated in his dantian. It let out a small bright light that flowed through his body and helped him reached enlightenment even further.
