Ch25

Wooden spears pressed against my back, archers waited mid-range, and the elf answer to wizards waited in the wings. High columns of thick tree limbs formed our path while wooden statues of elven lords and high council members lined my path. In front of me, beyond the seemingly endless mass of wooden statues, were a set of stone steps leading up through the canopy to the wealthier side of elvish society. That's where the rich elves lived with their tans, darker hair, and wind magic. Fire-aligned elves like me were caste in the lowest rung of elven society; even the guard I fucked was just a fire caste elf. Only a fire caste elf guard would be given shit duty like guarding me on the forest floor.

Those who live just under the canopy are the earth and water elves; they oversee growing food. That is an elven society; in a nutshell, we have farmers who grow food out of danger, a large group of fire caste or living sacrifices, and the wind caste who rule over all other elves. From what I can tell, the fire caste are indoctrinated to believe the wind caste has our best interests at heart and was competent. Unfortunately, there are few older fire castes to set the younger generation straight.

Being stationed below the canopy was just as much a death sentence for the guards as for the people. Anyone can be born into the fire caste, but it's believed that children of fire castes will be born fire caste.

I didn't know why they were escorting me to meet the council at all instead of killing me on the spot, I didn't know. It could be a power play to show the rest of the elves who were in charge by making an example of me. For that, they need a song and dance. First, a trial, then a very public execution to remind the lower castes that no one can go up.

While walking to my trial and inevitable execution, I couldn't help but be glad Harry Potter was no longer in my head. For once, I'm thinking clearly about my goals and the situation at hand. If I ever run into that little shit again, I'm going to kill him.

I took a step onto the staircase leading into the light like a literal staircase to heaven and turned back as I felt a chill on the wind. A spear shot towards me, and I took a step back. The earth-class elf laughed before smacking me in the face with the shaft of his spear. "Did I break something fire caste?" The man said and laughed.

When I joined him, the man suddenly went quiet. "I see you're crazy; that's why you went against the council." The elf man said.

"No, but you'll figure it out," I said.

The upper canopy was alive with magic and tons of open sex. "Look away, fire caste, the joys of the upper caste are forbidden to you."

"That's ok because soon enough, I'll be the only one having fun," I said.

He pressed the tip of his spear hard against my back. I stood still, the shaft of the weapon shattered. The others saw my display, and suddenly they weren't so keen to get close to me. They rushed me into their council building, and I heard a dower voice give an order.

"Strap him in irons." Several burly elves nearly seven feet tall quickly grabbed my arms forced them into iron manacles. They looked shocked when nothing happened. "Bring him before us while the high lords assemble. All must see the punishment for breaking council law."

The dower voice seemed to belong to a young-looking elf with warm amethyst eyes and a pencil-drawn mustache. If there was one downside to being an elf, it was my weak facial hair growth. But, of course, apparently, elves were also severely allergic to iron. So that was probably why they stared at me so intently.

"What have you really inbred yourselves to the point where you're weak to iron?" I asked.

"Insolence, we didn't give you permission to speak." A woman councilor with striking green eyes and rare red hair said.

"If you want insolence, I could always bend you over your desk and fuck you," I said.

Pencil mustache nodded his head, and a guard stepped forward and drove his fist into my face with all his strength behind it. Unfortunately, I wasn't budging. Flight gave me a hell of a lot of leverage, and my durability was growing by the second. All the bones in the male elf's hand shattered, and his hand swelled on the spot. The guard screamed and cradled his ruined hand.

"It seems we have underestimated an elf that slew a giant. We had assumed you have used some form of trickery, but no, you are simply a superior physical specimen of elf." The woman counselor said.

The cold chill I felt before approached with the surety of a coming storm, and soon enough, it would be here. When they arrived, I would have a decision to make? Did I strike them down or try reason? Of course, from the elf woman's words, odds were good they would breed me before trying their best to kill me. I was tempted to try the Genghis Khan method of killing all the men and taking the women.

Instead, I decided to try a coming the atheist Jesus moment. "Kneel," I said.

My qi erupted from my body, directed to fulfill a single action. A command swept through it, giving purpose to formerly loose energy. Even before the words left my mouth, knees hit the wooden floor. The power of my command swept through my expanding tsunami of qi, afflicting everyone in range as my power spread from a single tree to dozens of miles around. Even the presence approaching couldn't resist my command.

I could already imagine the accusations from Iris and Brunnera once they realized I was myself. Harry is bound to tell them or else blame me for being myself. Could I have done this to their father? No, this was only possible after 10 hours of residency in my new body. I knew it was theoretically possible to connect my qi with others and flood them with a command.

When I spoke, my words transferred through my qi to avoid confusion. "This can't be what you wanted. How many of you live in fear that your next child will be born in the fire caste? How many of you scrape and toil under the yoke of the wind caste? How many of you have never seen the light of day? Follow me, and I will give you will no longer fear for your children, I will do away with the caste system entirely, and I will give you light everlasting." I said.

I lifted my hands and pushed my qi through the trees extending my reach, and then I moved. Limbs locked in knots folded away from each other shining light through the canopy. Small orbs of light appeared lifted up from my qi and spread solar light throughout the elven republic.

"This power is yours to grasp with your own hands." I waved my hand, and a ball of wind, then water, earth, and fire formed in the air high enough for all elves to see. When I released my control over the elven population, no one stood to their feet.

"Messiah," one of the elves whispered, and like a gas fire, the word spread. That's when I realized I had well and truly fucked up.
