32 Ch. 31

"You will not tell me what to do!" Edwin said with anger after his 'Father' told him he should help them.

"We are your parents!" Charles raised his voice.

"Oh!" Edwin hit his head. "How stupid of me to not listen to the people that took care of me, fed me, watched me grow, and taught me everything I know. How could I possibly be this stupid?"

"You are not stupid," Said Vanessa, the girl who he learned was supposed to be his sister.

"You shut up, I didn't ask you," Edwin told her.

"Don't speak to your sister like that! And we didn't have a choice. We couldn't bring you with us, and we had to leave you there!" Charles said.

"Oh, really?" Edwin asked and pointed at Vanessa. They were able to take her with them, but not him.

"That's... different," Charles replied.

"How?" Edwin snapped. "Come on, I'm listening."

However, both Charles and Victoria stayed quiet. They couldn't tell him they left him since he was born with practically no Magic Power in his body. If they took him with them, he had no chance of survival. Vanessa, on the other hand, was born with a lot of Magic Power, and the Magic she was taught was remarkably strong.

Obviously, they had been wrong since Edwin was exceptionally strong himself. The Magic Power that was gushing out of his body in his angered state put an invisible pressure on them. They didn't know how it was possible, considering he had been born without any Magic Power, but here he was.

"So, you got nothing to say?" Edwin asked them.

"Don't be mean to mother and father!" Vanessa told him.

"You shut up! You're not part of this." Edwin snapped at her.

"But you are my brother," Vanessa replied, and he turned to her.

"Did you know you had a brother before meeting me?" Edwin asked, and she shook her head. "Then I'm not your brother, and you are not my sister!"

"This is no way to talk to family!" Charles yelled.

"BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT MY FAMILY!" Edwin screamed at them.

"You abandoned me as a baby! You left me! You didn't visit me even once! Was I your family the entire time?"

"Yes," Veronica answered.

"Shut up, I'm not done talking," Edwin said and covered her mouth with water.

"You are not allowed to speak until I'm done too, sperm donor." Edwin covered Charles' mouth as well before he could speak up.

"No, I wasn't. You did NOT care about me before. But now, now that I turn out to not be a useless bag of shit, we are suddenly family. This is NOT how this works!"

Victoria was crying, and Charles didn't dare look at him. Edwin didn't care the slightest. When he was younger, he'd spent years thinking why he was left at the orphanage. Did his parents not want him? Did they not have the Jewels to take care of him? Or maybe they were even dead. He didn't know, but he had grieved like many of the other kids in the orphanage until they all started thinking of each other as family.

"My family died years ago. Each and every one of them, and you all look to be alive and kicking. I'm gonna say this one more time. I. Am. An. Orphan. You are not my family!"

Edwin released the water that holding their mouths shut and walked away.

"Please, just give us a chance!" Veronica pleaded, tears streaming from her eyes.

"You didn't give me the chance to be your son before, so why should I now give you the chance to be my parents? I don't think that's fair." Edwin replied without looking back.

Veronica ran after him, but before she could reach him, a wall of black water stopped her.

"We can give you this chance now! Please, just stay at least a bit more with us," She pleaded again.

"Yeah, well, shove that chance up your asses, cause I don't care now." Edwin left without saying anything else to them.

He walked up to Brann, who was talking with Renard and Saraha, sharing stories about him.

"Come on, we are leaving," Edwin told the blacksmith.

"Leaving? Are ya' not staying? They are ya' family, Ed," Brann questioned.

"No, Brann, they are not," Edwin replied and asked him.

"Tell me. If you had a son," Brann flinched at that. "Will you ever abandon him?"

"No," Brann stated.

"There you go. Now, will you come with me?" Edwin asked.

"Where to?" Brann questioned.

"Iceberg," Edwin answered. It was the closest nation to their current location. Bellum was the next closest, and he didn't want to return there.

"So, you are leaving?" Sarah asked.

"Yes," Edwin grabbed Brann with a conjured hand and flew away without another word.

About an hour after they left, there a burst of lightning before a bird made of lightning appeared on Vanessa's shoulders.

"What's wrong, Nessa?" The bird asked and playfully plucked a hair from the girl.

"I met my brother. He is mean. And maybe stupid," Vanessa replied.

"Your brother?" The bird asked and sniffed. "Is he the one that used Magic around here?"

"Yes, he made black water," Vanessa answered.

"A God Slayer." The bird muttered.

"We heard, Sarah told us he had even fought a God in a trial of some sort," Charles said. He wasn't sure how to feel about the situation. He knew he wronged his son, but he thought Edwin could've at least given them a chance.

Veronica kept quiet. She was hurt far more than her husband. Edwin didn't care about them at all. In fact, he might even hate them, and as a mother, that hurt more than anything else. She kept asking herself if they could've kept Edwin with them rather than leave him. However, chances are, he would've died as he was back then.

"You should just stay away from him." The bird warned them.

"Why?" Veronica asked. She was thinking of ways to get Edwin back.

"God Slayers have powers similar to Nessa, who is Phoenix Slayer, but God Slayers are a level about all the Slayer types of Magic since Gods are the strongest magical beings. Gods like to call them their children, but in reality, they are nothing but soldiers. Soldiers who one way or another end up dying. The closer you are with him, the higher the chance of you dying." The Phoenix explained.

"We have to warn him!" Veronica said in worry.

"Even if you warn him, as someone who has passed his trial, he will have to fight in the future. It's best you stay away from him."

Edwin and Brann passed by the unfinished wall at the border as they entered Iceberg. The temperature was far colder than in Pergrande, and they weren't really prepared for that.

Edwin quickened his pace until he saw a city in their sights. He dropped a distance away, and the two continued to the city on foot.

"Ya' really don't want to stay with them?" Brann asked.

"No, I'm an orphan," Edwin replied as they entered the city.

Brann said no more as they made their way to a clothing store where they purchased something warmer to wear. Edwin got a couple of more things he needed before they rented a hotel room.

"So, this is the design of the Los Muertos, right?" Edwin asked with the sketch of his guns on the table in front of them.

"Yes," Brann confirmed. It was just as he remembered it.

"Well, I wanted to add this," Edwin drew on the sketch. "And this as well."

"This... they won't really be a gun with this added to them," Brann said.

"No, more like hybrids? But they will be more useful to me." Edwin nodded to himself.

"And what about the metals? Ya' said ya' had a plan for them?" Brann asked.

"Yeah, I want them to be as tough as Adamantine, but to be able to conduct Magic as well as Mythril. I know there have been attempts to make an alloy of the two metals, but they were all unsuccessful," Edwin said.

"That's right," Brann nodded.

"But I also have Eslium, Orichalcum, and Titanium. I was thinking of using all of them if needed. Mixing Mythril with Titanium should have a better result than mixing it with Adamantine. The alloy should conduct Magic and become slightly tougher."

"Adamantine could be mixed with Orichalcum, there's been a few successful attempts with that. It will keep its toughness and gain a slight amount of Magic conductivity."

"Then, I can use Eslium as the base metal and combine it with the two alloys. Eslium conducts Magic well, but it's not as good as Mythril. It's tough, but nowhere near as tough as Adamantine."

"This... might work. But why did ya' need me for it?" Brann asked.

"I needed someone to talk about it. And someone to be a witness if I do end up creating a new alloy."

Brann showed him how to forge, so he wanted to show him the true masterpiece he wanted to create. He deserved that much.

"Ya' need a forge to make all of this," Brann said.

"Yeah, I saw one in the city. I will go and see if we can rent it," Edwin replied.

It cost him quite a bit of Jewels, but he did rent the blacksmithy.

After making sure there was no one there, he got to work. The mixing of Mythril and Titanium wasn't successful at first. He wasted one of the Mythril ores before he got it the mixture correctly.

Adamantine and Orichalcum, on the other hand, was a lot easier to get done.

Now came the hard part. Mixing the two alloys with Eslium. Again, at first, he wasn't successful, and he wasted another Mythril ore in the process until he got it correct. However, he finally made it work.

Edwin had created a whole new alloy/metal that was as tough as Adamantine and conducted magic as well as Mythril. He was more than happy with it. Since he was the creator of it, he named it Edamantium, the best metal in the world.

With his new creation, he began working on his new weapons. The base design for them was his Los Muertos, but there were additions to them.

The first one was that the guns will have two blades attached to each side. That way, he could use them more effectively in melee combat.

The second was a chain attached to their handles, so he can wrap it around his hands. Edwin knew there was Magic that nullified other Magic, so if he ends up encountering a Mage who used it, he could still have a way to fight them in range. Or even escape by using them as a substitute to his Water God's Whip.

Edamantium was a very tough metal, and it took him weeks to create his guns with all of their additions, but he finally made it.

"I've done it!" Edwin exclaimed.

"That ya' have." Brann stared at them with wide eyes. What he was looking at might as well be the two best weapons in the entire Earthland.

"So, what are ya' going to name them?" Brann asked.

"Hmm. I think... I will name them the Guns Of Chaos."
