1 The Awakening

--- Edinburgh, Scotland, 2010 ---

"Jayjay, time fo school", his little sister woke him adorably with her lisp like every other morning.

Picking her up and hugging her, "ten more minutes", he says while holding her tightly.

She laughs wildly while trying to escape, "Hahaha, dwaddy will eat your bacon agwain"

With a grumble and a pout, he releases his sister before rising to his feet.

Walking into the bathroom, he drops his shorts and gets into a cold shower, why? his family was poor, it was rare when they had hot water.

After a quick clean and doing the essentials like brushing his teeth and fixing his hair, he walks into the dining room wearing his school uniform.

Picking up his bacon sandwich, he kisses both his parents on their cheeks before leaving the apartment.

Opening his front door, he sees his two mates waiting for him, "Why you two twats standing there, you could just come in?"

Kyle and Lewis look at him upon hearing his voice, "we did but your dumbass was still asleep, we had to get your sister to wake you", Kyle says with irritation in his voice.

AJ laughs, "shut up, fatass. come one, we're going to be late"

Walking down the road, they talk about several things, school, classes, singers, rappers, etc.

Entering their homeroom class, they take their seats in the back corner of the room, Lewis looks across to the teacher as she enters the room, "God, she's sexy", he whispers causing his friends to grimace.

Kyle makes gagging noises like he's going to puke, "dude, she's like seventy years old, she has a full head of grey hair"

Ignoring his friend's revolting discussion, he looks towards the teacher as she calls out attendance.

She looks towards him, "Andrew, if you still plan on joining the army after graduation, there is a two-week taster course in a month that you can go to"

He just nods at her as he yawns.

The day gets underway, he goes to his classes, Maths, Science, Biology, English, French, Home Economics, Physical Education, and Music.

After school he splits up from his friends and makes his way home, suddenly out of nowhere, a storm hits, rain starts pounding off of the street, winds so strong that he can barely walk forward, and the booming of thunder bangs over his head.

Pulling out his phone, he tries to call his dad to pick him up until BAM.

As if he was a human lightning rod, he gets struck seven times, falling to the ground, he hits the ground violently.

--- Seven Months Later ---

Waking up the sore eyes and a pounding headache, he looks around and quickly notices where he is.

Feeling something touch his hand, he sees his toddler sister has fallen asleep while hugging his hand.

Before he can wake her up, he's greeted by a transparent blue screen floating in front of him, 'what the actual fuck is this?'

Hugging her, he closes his eyes and continues to rest while questioning his sanity.
