1 1 The Earthborn Realm

"Briar Kinsella."

Briar went stiff when she heard his father call her name. They were at the dining table, having a hearty breakfast when he called her name. Briar knew her father would scold her.

"I did nothing," Briar said as her gaze wonder around, not wanting to meet his father's eyes. Briar was guilty. She thought her father found out that she had ruined one of the house's paintings as she tried to glamour it to her liking.

'I kept it hidden well, how did he find out?'

"I won't reprimand you for your mischief, Briar," her father said. "Even though that painting is precious."

Briar lowered her head then apologized for her actions.

"Sorry, father," she said, trying to sound sincere.

"Briar," her father once again called her name.

Before she could ask why, a messenger arrived and whispered on his father's ears. The message must be confidential because they didn't want it to reach her ears. She kept on pondering what the message might be.

"Let him in," his father said to the messenger. The messenger nodded then fled.

After a few moments, the messenger came back with a man beside him.

Briar's jaw fell as she saw the man who arrived. He has a dominating aura with his tall height and buff figure. He has a well-defined facial features. A jet black hair. But what really caught Briar's eyes was his argentine eyes.

"Welcome to my abode, my lord," his father said as he stood to greet the visitor.

'Wait. What?'

Briar was curious to know who was the man to deserve his father, the Lord of the Earthborn Realm's courtesy.

"I'm here to claim my bride, Gustavo," the stranger said. Briar's eyes went wide then she gasped.

"What do you mean?" Briar asked then stared at his father's eyes. "Father, how could you?"

"I should have told you earlier," his father said.

"You stole someone else's wife!" Briar yelled.

The Lord of the Earthborn Realm couldn't believe what her daughter said. He massaged his forehead, frustrated that he have a dense child. He thought her daughter easily understood that he's marrying her off.

The man with argentine eyes laughed out loud.

"Interesting," he said. "You got me a dumb bride."

"Forgive her denseness, my lord," his father said.

"Who are you anyways?" Briar asked. The man grinned then went towards her.

He went near beside her ear then whispered, "I am your groom."

Briar'eyes widen in shock. Then she realized that her father was marrying her off with the stranger!

Briar was in rage. She ran towards her room, leaving her father and the man.

Her father sighed then seeked forgiveness for his daughter's actions.

"I haven't explained things to her, please forgive her," he said.

"I understand," the man said. "I'll be back tomorrow to get her."

Before the man could leave, the Lord of the Earthborn Realm told him to take care of his only child.

"Take care of my dear child, my lord," he said.

"I promise you her safety and your Realm's as well," the man, the Lord of the Fireborn Realm said as he fled.
